I had never been to Asuka before and my friend arranged for a group of us to stay here.  The guest house personnel were very friendly.  The bathrooms are very clean and accommodating.  

They have coffee for a very nominal charge (100 yen).  

You can bring your own food and drink of choice to the inn and have a little party (as long as it's not too loud!). The house has a kitchen you can use.  Needless to day, we partied around a square table reminiscing since I had not seen them in a while.  My friend brought fresh sashimi and other snacks to the inn.  A great time was had by all and we also invited other guests staying at the inn.  A truly friendly atmosphere.  Quiet and out of the way from the hustle and bustle of some of Japan's big cities.  

You can rent bikes too.

Highly recommend you stay here.

Local Friendly Place....

We came to Asuka a bit late during the day and realized we wouldn't be back in time to return our rental bikes, so we decided to look for Airbnb/Minjuku in Asuka.  Went into this place and the place looked very nice and clean.  Sho from the counter was very helpful and cheerful, so was Yoko (the other helper, hopefully I got the name right).  So we decided to stay here.  We got the private room and it has its own shower and toilet.  So we went out for more sightseeing at late afternoon.  When we got back just after dusk, staff had prepared the room, the heater aircon was on so room was warm in a later winter night, they also had a humidifier on so the room would have just comfortable moisture without being too dry from the heating, that's very very touching!  Sho prepared dinner as well, basically he does everything there.  We had such a good time here and met some new friends who's also travelling.  Would recommend for everyone looking for a night to stay with a bit of Japanese country side style.

Best stay and very friendly staff

Asuka Guesthouse was terrific! I couldn't have asked more in terms of hospitality, service and friendliness.

Asuka village isn't a very well known area of Japan for travellers considering it's quite out of the way compared to Kyoto or Tokyo but it has a very deep history being the first capital of Japan 2600 years ago.

The staff at Asuka guest are the best! they will go out of their way to help in all aspects of your stay. They picked us up from the train station free of charge and return aswell. The chef was kind enough to take us to the local onsen aswell which was a treat. The staff always have a smile and will go to almost any length to help you, absolutely terrific!

I can't say in words how appreciative i was to stay at this great little guesthouse it was an amazing stay. The town is quite a spiritual place very quiet and every villager will spark up a conversation with you if you speak japanese or not they are such genuine and friendly people. This place has something so much more to offer than  the bigger cities in Japan. 

10/10 thanks again 😊 will definitely come back again in the future! 

#1 Hostel in Japan!

Went to the asuka guest house on our trip to Japan and it was by far the best place we stayed, all the locals were friendly and the employees were amazing . The living space was clean and comfortable and the food in the area was amazing . I really hope to go back soon
