this place is all you need. very nice, close to major tourist areas, comfortable, warm and the host is lovely. has basic english and is very wholesome and caring. provides you with great info on the surrounding area, restaurants available and is extremely welcoming and kind.

Arrived here after a long day of outlet shopping and the innkeeper Hiroshi warmly received us and kept on apologizing for his basic English skills. I told him that his English was excellent, compared to my Japanese!

Our family of 4 was given 2 separate rooms (I'm guessing because none of the rooms could comfortably sleep 4).

We had reserved the accommodation package with dinner (which included a slice of Omi beef steak, heavenly!), which was excellent, especially washed down with Asahi beef (draft).

The room (for 2) was roomy and clean, and the mattresses were significantly thicker than the inn where we stayed the night before (Kappou Ryokan Shouju)!

Quaint and cozy little Japanese style inn

Warm and inviting. Mine host Hiroshi  can't do enough  for you. Nice little village  Hikcone.  Many small traditional  cafes and restaurants  around. Well worth the effort to stay sine train line to Kyoto so close.
