This hotel was my first and only capsule hotel experience back in March 2023. It was everything I expected from a capsule hotel. I was more than comfortable.

The hotel is located centrally, close to the tram line and convenience stalls, and more importantly, between attractions like the Peace Memorial Park, Hiroshima Castle and Hijiyama.

Everything You'd Expect

My family of four (2 adults and 2 teens, age 16+) wanted to experience a capsule hotel in Japan. Our one night in Hiroshima seemed like the perfect opportunity, especially since this hotel gets such good reviews. We are all tall (up to 6' 4"). So I worried if it would be comfortable, but none of us had a problem with the length. My daughter and I stayed on the women's floor, while my husband and son stayed on the men's floor. We each had our own premium capsule. None of us minded getting a little time to ourselves after traveling together for a week... And it's SO quiet. Overall I loved the experience and would recommend it. However, my husband and I both thought that our beds - basically a pad on a hard surface - were too uncomfortable to get a good night's sleep. Our teens thought their beds were fine.

Great first capsule hotel experience

This was my first capsule experience and honestly it has everything that you would need for a short stay. I was also surprised at how quiet it was once you are in your capsule. The capsules are also much bigger than expected!

It's handy that the toilet, shower, and sink area are all in separate areas. All are really clean as well, perhaps because it's a woman's only floor! 

I stayed in a "superior" capsule which was a little like having the lower bunk bed but the top bunk is separated off. It was in its own little room which a partician door but the door doesn't lock. You do get a locker inside this area which does lock for your valuables. 

Sadly the thing lowering the rating for me was the comfort of the bed. The mattress was extremely thin and I just couldn't get comfortable. I ended up sleeping on top of the duvet hoping for extra comfort but that didn't help either. The capsule is also quite chilly. They had the Aircon on and you cannot control that for your room although the capsules do also have their own air con if you are travelling in summer and need extra cooling. 

Bigger than expected but not very comfy.

Friendly and supportive staff, cleanliness of the hostel. More than a ** hostel, it really is more like a ***** hostel. The place is super clean. Shoes are taken off upon entry in the common area, locker is provided for shoes and valuables. Luggage area is also available. Toiletries are provided along with pijamas. Orange Bus Line that takes customers directly to the hotel's doorstep from the Hiroshima Train Station for free if you are a JR pass holder. By the way, there are two other tourist busses that JR passholders can ride for free, Blue and Green.

More than a ** hotel; it is a ***** hotel

We stayed for two nights in Capsule Hotel Cube and absolutely loved it. After staying in a number of communal rooms it was a delight to have a (all be it small) private space as well as the bed. 

The hotel was perfectly clean with excellent facilities and a very kind and welcoming staff.

The location is great and is in walking distance of most of the Hiroshima sights. 

Highly recommended! 

Outstanding 

I stayed 6 nights in the Deluxe Private Cabin at the Capsule Hotel Cube. 

Firstly the check in process was 24 hours which was a great relief as I arrived late in the night. After which, I was handed in my keys, a map of the hotel, and a list of rules. In my room, I was greeted with a basket of amenities (samples of shampoo, moisturizer, comb, pajamas, hand and body towels, room slippers). The basket can be replaced daily.

Next, to reduce noise in the cabins, the showering and toilets area are placed outside and away from the sleeping area. For the showering area, there was a separate 'dry' area where you can take off and on your clothing before and after entering the shower. Both areas were clean and well maintained. If I did not recall wrongly, there was 3 showers and 4 toilets. For my 6 nights there, I did not had to wait to shower or to use the toilets even during the peak periods of 8 to 9 pm at night. There was also plenty of hair dryers provided at the washing area as well as cups to brush my teeth. 

Lastly, the sleeping area was generally quiet and designed to be quiet. A TV was provided in the room with headphones so that your neighbors would not be disturbed. My neighbors were generally very quiet except for the occasional folding of the door and footsteps. My only gripe was that it was a fold-able door (photo: View from inside the room) with zero sound cancellation. I had a night where a few girls came back drunk and was giggling. However, it lasted for only about ten minutes before they quieten down. The fold-able door is also not lockable but there is a wardrobe where you can lock your valuables (Photo: View of room). 

Overall, I enjoyed my stay very much. But do note, this is a budget hotel, and do manage your expectations. Nonetheless at this price point, I do not think I can find any other place with a better value. And bonus tips, when I was there, the hotel was offering a delightful 500 yen breakfast set (Photo: Breakfast set at Nakau) at Nakau, which is 1 min away and just across the street from the hotel. Do check it out for their breakfast sets. Nagarekawa is also a 5 min walk away from the hotel which is a party district.

Perfect for single travellers

Everything was excellent except for the room that could not be locked, so I didn’t really sleep well as I was worried for my safety and belongings. It was also very not sound proof. Luckily I just stayed for one night. It’s right opposite the Kanagawa-cho Station of the Hiroshima Tram. But if you have a JR Pass, you can take a bus for free at the North Exit of the Hiroshima Station. The bus stops at the Hatchobori Station, and you just walk for above ten minutes to your left after getting off from the bus. 

Excellent location 

Been in Japan 4 times already but this is my first time to stay in a capsule hotel..and I love it! First, location is excellent! Just right in front of the tram station and 2 stations away from Hiroshima station. There are restaurants & convenience store right outside the hotel.
Whole hotel is soooooo clean and secured. Shared toilet & bathroom are clean with free toiletries. Towels, robe and sleepwear are provided.
Hotel is also few stations away from Peace Memorial Park.
Will stay he again when I get back to Hiroshima.

Cozy & clean capsule hotel

It is one of the best location in Hiroshima and you will get all what you need. Markets, restaurants are all great. You should visit there and stay at least couple of nights in order to feel environment.
