This hotel is located in a very central area of Kochi city, and is very reasonably priced for all that.  It is in an older building, and this is more noticeable once you get into the rooms.  But they make up for it with both a beautiful lobby and excellent service.  

We drove into the city, and so had to worry about parking the car, always a concern in a central location where space is at a premium.  I went in the hotel as my wife waited to ask about parking, and instead of the confused “you’re on your own” look I might expect from some places, the guy behind the desk came out to the car with me, plus an A4 sized card detailing the route to the parking garage they had an arrangement with.  (There is a closer garage, but it only is used for smaller cars).  We found our parking space, and were able to show the A4 card to a waiting taxi driver who drove us back to the hotel (a few blocks), saving us the trouble of a long walk with luggage.  I was duly impressed.  It’s the sort of service I’d expect for a much higher end hotel.  And it saved us a lot of worry about the parking situation.  With our hotel stay, the fee was only 700 yen for the night.  

We were checked in without trouble, and got an actual physical key to our room.    The rooms are somewhat small, and hardly echo the gilt of the lobby.  But they are good enough.  Although the hallway carpet could use replacement, the room itself was clean and had everything one would need for a stay.  If I had any quibbles, is was that our bed for two was up against the wall, and for the person on that side, there was no little shelf for things like one’s glasses, phone, and all that sort of stuff you’d like to have within reach as you sleep.  

The hotel has amenities in the lobby if you so choose to take some.  A set of pajamas, toothbrushes, washcloths, etc.  There is even a “shampoo bar” that comes with the price of the room.  They give you 2 little bottles, and you can take samples of the shampoo and conditioner if you would like. (there are a dozen brands or so).   Of course, you are not obligated to take it if you prefer (for environmental reasons) to use the shampoo in the rooms.  

The hotel is located in a rather busy area for nightlife, which is in a lot of ways great.  There is no shortage of restaurants and bars in the area.  The shopping arcade is not far away, nor is the popular Hirome Market, a good place to get dinner.  Also, the famous Sunday Morning Street Market is just a few blocks away.  Although there is a nice-looking Italian restaurant attached to the lobby, we did not try it as we were hoping to sample more of the locally famous cuisine.  There is also a breakfast option you can get for an additional fee, but we opted to try our hand at the street market instead.  A nearby convenience store is also an option.  

If there was a one drawback, it is that this is not a quiet neighborhood on a Saturday night.  Although it did not keep me awake, there is a certain amount of street noise on a Saturday night.  But if you are in this place to be at the center of Kochi, it’s to be expected.  There are some smoking rooms in the hotel, but the 6th-8th floor are nonsmoking, and I noticed no scent in our room (other reviews have complained of such).   It’s my understanding that the hotel annex across the street is entirely non-smoking.  In any case, I found that for business-hotel prices, the place was pretty nice and the service was great.

Great Service at a Reasonable Price

This is one of my recommended places in kochi!
Good restaurant, great hospitality and nice rooms.  
You can go to both kochi station and Harimayabashi about 5 minutes on foot!  
You can also go to kochi castle, Sunday market, and Hirome market on foot!

My recommend hotel

Not a bad hotel, rooms clean and lots of facilities such as fridge and decent television. Room had good air conditioning, bath/shower and a kettle.
Staff helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was to Japanese taste, buffet style with lots to eat.
Can recommend the all you can eat buffet on evening for 1600円.
Parking was just round corner- self parking is an interesting thing.

Nice well run hotel.

Having spent a fair bit of time in Kochi and seen various hotels- the Kochi Palace was by far the best I came across.

It came in at a very reasonable price and the room was clean and well equipped. It was a lot more modern in style as well and had good quality amenities.

Location wise- you're in a perfect position. The main train station is less than a 10 minute walk (this is where the tourist bus goes from as well over to Godaisan etc) and surrounded by shops and restaurants.

The hotel has a restaurant attached which seemed to be very popular! The front desk staff were absolutely wonderful and very helpful too!

Great Location At Reasonable Price

Is one of Abad chain hotels. Nice small hotel. Only about 8 rooms. Breakfast simple with toast bread, eggs, cornflakes with milk, a plate of fruits and coffee oe tea. Room is clean. Few shops outside horel. Overall comfortable stay.
