We want to shout a very big THANK YOU to Jijyo and family for the warm service that included transport from the inn to and from kutchan station, to grand hirafu ski slopes and to nearby onsens. 

Walking back to the inn from the main shopping/restaurants area was a breeze. The location of the inn is within 5 minutes walking distance from a convenience shop, many restaurants and an activity centre. 

Breakfast was generous, healthy and delicious everyday. 

The inn is very clean and well maintained. Rooms come with a heater and thick blankets, so we were always warm and toasty. We booked a twin loft room which had a space above our beds for chilling out. 

Towels, shampoo, facial foam, bath liquid, toothbrushes and toothpaste were all provided for. 

Wifi signal is strong. 

Emails were replied very quickly.

Best service, super location, great place to stay at

We greatly enjoyed our stay last week. The room was a triple but it could easily have accomodated more than three persons. Within the same room there were two beds on a lower level and then room for several Japanese style beds on a higher level accessible via stairs.

My two daughters aged 6 and 8 enjoyed playing with the owner's son (and his toys).

It was a 3-minute drive from the Grand Hirafu lifts and a 3-minute walk to restaurants. There was plenty of snow for snowmen and snowballs in the yard of the lodge.

A good breakfast with plenty of coffee (for me) and Nutella (for the kids).

My children enjoyed playing with the owner's son.

Lodge tabino kosaten is a homestay runs by a couple named Kyoko & Jijyo. The meaning of Lodge tabino kosaten is "Intersection where everybody meets" according to Jijyo where he would like all ppl from all around the would to meet to exchange life stories.

On Arrival, Kyoko picked us up with a big welcome. The Lodge is 5 mins drive from the center of Niseko.  She then offered us some nice japanese green tea and briefed us on what we could do in niseko. Our interests to Niseko is to SKI. Jijyo helps us to arrange all out ski passes and equipments at a reasonable price. We were very lucky as it snowed heavily throughout the week of our stay.
Food : Kyoko & Jijyo cook very delicious and healthy home-cooked japanese meals. We took the stay and meals package for most of our stays and try to eat out somedays to sample the local specialities.
Onsen: There are quite a few nice onsens around. Ask Kyoko & Jijyo for recommendation. 
Transport : Free shuttle will be provided every morning to the ski station as well as to the Onsen in the evening. There is a bus-stop outside the lodge with frequent shuttle to and fro the Lodge. Some nights, we took a stroll back (15mins)
Ski : This is one of the best ski resorts I have been especially the Grand Hirafu. I have visited few Ski Resorts in NZ/Europe
Activities in the evening : Onsen or Hang around chit-chatting with Kyoko & Jijyo to get to know more about Japanese cultures. Don't forget to buy some Sake, Soucho and Japanese Beer to sample together.

Very Homey and Personal

Tabinokousaten is a little building near Niseko. It has a cosy, homey atmosphere to it. You would almost feel at home there. The owners, Jijo and Kyoko, really make an effort to. The lodge is pretty near to the slopes (if you're there to ski or snowboard). You can take a short bus ride there. The food in the area is good and there's a wide variation, from Japanese restaurents to pizza places.

We didn't know how to get to Tabinokousaten, so Jijo actually came to pick us up from the train station in his own van. Jijo got us all settled on the skiing side, introducing us to ski school people.

We made arrangements to have a traditional Japanese dinner one evening.  The dinner, on our last day there, was fantastic and helped us to experience what it's like to eat a real home-cooked Japanese dinner. 

Jijo and Kyoko speak some English, more than enough to communicate. The rooms are adequate and have electric heaters and bedding and are big enough to accomodate 2-4 people. Not much in them, but comfortable.

It was great! The owners were really friendly.

The whole place give you the warmth feeling of a home.   The home-cooked food are fantastic! Enjoy the 3 dinner meals we had there.  It is a nice and quiet place.  There are free shuttle by the owner to the ski lift in the morning.   The room is basic but clean and comfortable - and that was the most important.
