The perfect location for Grand Hirafu! It was easy to find, close to everything, and the staff was great. Communicating with them before our stay was easy and they went above and beyond helping us with our departure travel arrangements. Definitely recommend for anyone going to Hokkaido!

Major Highlights:
-Walking distance to the ski lifts and rental shops
-Off of the main road for restaurants/bars. It takes maybe 2 minutes to get to the nearest place. Out of the group we went with, our accommodation had the best location!
-If you’re an English speaker worried about a language barrier, don’t be. This is beginner traveler friendly!
-Communication was great. We had to make adjustments to travel and they worked with us ahead of our stay. Once we got there, the staff was very friendly and helpful. 
-The shuttles/buses/ trains are easy to use if you want to explore the areas around Hirafu.
-Comfortable rooms and good communal areas for big groups.

Really dig this place

Super close to everything. Great location and friendly staff. Will definitely stay here again. And easy walk to hirafu ski lift and a bunch of food places right next door. Rooms were clean and the shared kitchen was very useful

Great place to stay, central location. Friendly and helpful staff. Thoroughly recommend it. A delight. Good facilities with the option to cook your own meals. Good breakfast to start the day. Shared bathrooms (male and female).

Close n cheap

Very cozy guesthouse with friendly people. Very clean, warm and a with short walk to the main ski lifts, supermarkets and restaurants. Very nice experience, they have a couple of restaurants with tasty food and a snow sports school as well. Fast wifi and big kitchen, place to keep your ski / snowboard gear and very clean bathrooms. Totally recommended after being there already for 2 times for a really good price.

Excellent. Feels like home

Location is unbeatable and was one of the main reasons we stayed here. Only a 10-min walk up to the chairlift near the Hirafu Welcome Centre, less to the Ace Family Lift. Buses to Hirafu Gondola and other resorts are a 1 min walk away. Minutes away from heaps of cool little bars and restaurants. The popular Yukoro Onsen is also within a walkable distance from here.
One of the cheapest options in Hirafu while remaining within walking distance of the slopes and the night life.
Excellent service. Warm welcome upon arrival. Friendly and attentive service each morning at the included breakfast. I accidentally left a personal item in the room and the lovely Sanae went to the effort of posting it back to me after I’d already returned to Australia.
Rooms are cosy with good heating. Comfortable and warm bedding. Shared bathrooms are modest but deliver nice hot water plus we never had to wait to use the shower or toilet. Good quality wifi. Cosy common room with computers and internet.
Only small downfall was that it was a little bit noisy on 2 nights due to people occupying the upstairs roof cavity. Did not experience noise from the restaurant as other reviewers here have. Restaurant closes up at a very reasonable hour anyway.
Yes, the entrance is a tad unusual, there is a restaurant attached and there are a few random people about who don’t seem to be regular guests but we knew this beforehand from reading the reviews so it didn’t really bother us.
Would definitely recommend staying here especially if you’re on a budget!

Great location at a budget price

A really well managed lodge. Smallish rooms however your skiing so no drama!
Manager was fabulous.  She made us feel very welcome.  Very clean throughout.  Great having the restaurant onsite.
Only one two blocks from the ski lifts.  Ski hire close too.

Lovely welcoming staff, Moka. was a delight very welcoming and helpful.

Great range of restaurants.
Close to an outside onsen which was excellent.
Our room was above the restaurant, so a little noisy a couple of nights.
