We really enjoyed our time at Fujitaya Bnb.  Our room was very comfortable for our family of five and we felt welcome and comfortable using the kitchen and common areas, which was nice after getting tired of eating out all the time.  Everyone we encountered, from the owners and staff to the other guests were friendly.  The common area was lively during mealtimes, which was fun to talk with the other guests, but it was nice and quiet in our room and at nighttime.  This is definitely a Japanese style bnb, with tatami mats, so there aren't regular tables and chairs.  If you are okay with sitting on the floor, I highly recommend stay here.

Very comfortable for a family of 5

From Kyoto Railway Station you can get to this lovely little hostel by Bus, Train or Subway. Lots of nice little local shops and businesses nearby if you know where to look. Enjoy the experience of sleeping on a futon bed in a Tatami straw mat floored room at a budget price. The staff are friendly, hardworking and helpful.  The hostel is kept very clean and tidy. A free breakfast or bread, butter, jams and rice is available after 8 am.

I'd like to thank staff members ゆじさん、台湾さん and 可愛いさんたち for their welcome during my 5 days stay in what looked like the most stylish inn in Kyoto around my prices range and the JR Station.

Indeed, the facilities are new, modern and always clean, even though many other guests were staying there as well. Still, all the setting is traditional and feels like a classic Japanese inn with a spacious and nicely decorated lobby.

I booked the family room which was pretty big as I didn't need so much space for just myself. When booking directly with the inn, you can get a free rental bike, so the station is just 10 minutes away door to door.

The only downside was that other guests were pretty noisy; Japanese rooms are built to accomodate Japanese people and thus aren't well isolated against the noises from some other guests that acted like they had stepped into a rusty dorm.

I think I didn't heard any Japanese except from the staff and yoga teacher and pupils. Speaking of which, the staff was amazing and recommended me an izakaya that eventually was one of my best experiences in Japan.

Very good and affordable place in Kyoto

Fujitaya Kyoto provides both Japanese and Western style breakfast for free. 
The room is clean and the toilets, bathrooms as well. So it's comfortable to stay here, on this price especially.
There is just one thing needed to be aware that the insulation is not so good. 
Basically, my experience here is good.

Clean room and kind staffs

The hotel is in a quaint side street so it is quiet and serene, numerous shrines are found within walking distance and it is close to a JR station and bus stop. The hotel had spacious rooms with tatami mats and bunk futon beds. The tea and coffee was readily available throughout the day and the communal eating space was comfortable. The staff were lovely, they were very helpful and organised. The hotel itself was very clean and hygienic. Breakfast is delicious and filling and many small restaurants and cafes are scattered around the area, all of which are reasonably priced. I strongly recommend this hotel. It is a great place to really feel Japan and Kyoto.

A lovely little place.

Away from main street but easy walk to JR rail station and bus routes. Beautifully clean, nice size rooms (Better than most hotels we stayed in) - bunk futon beds, staff were lovely, facilities clean. Tea and coffee all day and other guests were quiet and respectful. We could really feel Japanese hospitality.

What a great little place!

I had a fantastic time, the living room was immensely inviting and I really enjoyed the quiet setting. Moreover, the small shrines surrounding the area added a lovely touch. The open kitchen, small breakfast and truly sweet staff made for a lovely stay in Kyoto. Will come back again!

A wonderful and comfortable stay

Many info from the staff in english! Maps, worth to visit touristical places, how to get there, etc.

Clean room, comfortable futon. AirCon in room. Simple, but nice hotel.

2km from Kyoto train station.
