Access to guesthouse from Kyoto station via bus 206 at platform A3. Place is at 4th bus stop. Very clean place and they gave me a quiet room as requested. Tourist spots are also easily accessible from nearby bus stops. Will stay here again if coming back to Kyoto.

For the right price, will stay here again

Stayed there 9 nights - liked it a lot as it is walking distance from 2 Hongwan ji temples. Bus service right outside though it is inconveniently far from Tambaguchi and Kyoto stations - walking distance but doesn’t save time when you are trying to visit the classic sites of Kyoto. Best part is it was cheap, had a relatively large room, one can save money by renting utensils and cooking in the kitchen and also laundry machines and provided. They don’t clean daily and charge extra for cleaning. For clean towels and other stuff, they are not proactive but respond quickly if you ask for something. All in all we were happy with the hotel though may try a place closer to Gion, it Kyoto station next time. With careful planning and leaving early, one can visit sites but the large crowds and rush hour bus service can be an issue with this hotel. For the price, it is well worth it.

Nice inexpensive hotel; responsive service

Do NOT stay at this hotel!!!  Almost all rooms face an extremely busy road (Omiya), which they (will) fail to mention on their ads and homepage, causing rooms to vibrate and shake all through the day and night – Good luck sleeping. Booking in advance and stating your preference for at least a respite, in a different room, will fall on deaf ears. Management will not help, despite pleading, making this the only option to warn future hotel seekers to AVOID this hotel. OYO should check property standards when allowing them to join their company group. BE WARNED !!!

AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!

The location is central enough to Kyoto Station and some other locations - it is a bit quieter than the popular spots but there are transport options nearby including buses passing outside.
The room itself was good - the bed was the most comfortable out of all our Japan stays and our room was nice and quiet and rear facing. The facilities were reqasonable and the room had a PC. No cutlery etc is provided unless you pay a small fee. Same goes with early check ins, pay a small fee and they'll allow it. Check in process was easy and the gentleman took our bags to the room up the stairs (no lift). We'd definitely stay here again for the right price.

Lovely apartment and convenient enough

This is a small apartment within walking distance of a UNESCO heritage site and still well connected to both the bus artery and the JR subway. With adequate comfort, I have had the opportunity to sleep in the most comfortable bed of my entire trip. A special mention deserves the boy at the reception for his kindness. The price is not low for what is proposed but perfectly in line with the prices of the city, so I can't complain much more. I would say that the experience was absolutely positive for me.

Nice and well-placed apartment

This was one of favourite hotels in Japan.  Full self contained, bed are comfortable and room is spacious and clean.   We were amazed at the facilities for the price.  A little out of the way but only $12 for a cab from Kyoto station.   We would definitely stay again.

Fabulous Hotel

The room is actually a mini apartment with bathroom with tub, room and corner cooking and the price is great. We booked so far in advance so our room was equipped with a washing machine inside (100 yen is the cost of the detergent) and drying function in the bathroom, without having to use the dryer for a fee. Right outside the door of the Guest House there are bus stops to/from the station and to/from many attractions in the city.

A good solution for Kyoto

This hotel is very close to a bus stop, important for moving around the city. Upon arrival, a very kind guy received us and explained everything to us with more than acceptable English: how to move around Kyoto, how to get to nearby cities and where to buy some food or dine in the area.
The room was very spacious, even with a mini terrace where you could hang or air clothes. It had a washing machine and you could rent cooking utensils.
We had two quite large single beds. On the contrary, the bathroom was small, in a "small room" was the toilet and in another different the sink and the shower (the last one was bigger).
We had breakfast every day at a small table with two chairs that we had in the room and then we went out to discover the city.
There were two beautiful temples a few minutes walk away and a restaurant where they cooked good ramen and good gyozas.

Spacious

The accommodation in general seemed very good to us, a large room with a small kitchen, microwave, refrigerator and washing machine.The bed was very comfortable.The staff who rented it was very pleasant, helped us with everything we asked for and communication was easy.

Very personal and very pleasant.

We were in a basic but clean apartment with good air conditioning at a very reasonable price.Now 15 minutes and the central station in a quiet neighborhood.Recommended.The staff speaks very little English.
