Excellent service, nice and quiet environment, although close to many services for dinner, groceries and entertainment. The hosts also provide a hand-drawn map (very cute) with these services and recommended us restaurants based on our taste. Rooms are clean and very relaxing. The bath is great. All in all excellent and relaxing experience.

Great and relaxing traditional inn

Comfortable, basic accommodation, with tatami mats, futons, shared bath & toilet and peaceful views out over the river from the window.
We enjoyed the bikes provided, riding along the river path and around the centre of Matsumoto. Very friendly hosts made us feel welcome in many different ways (including drop off to station). 

Family inn

We stayed two nights in this Ryokan during our holiday in Japan. Matsumoto is a cosy and relaxed place, without the tourist crowds we experienced in other cities, staying in different hotels, who were all good, this Ryokan gave us a memorable experience. Everything was very well organized, the pick up from the station, the free bikes, the cleanliness of the place. The warm welcome from the hosts, the excellent way in which they took care of us during our stay. Making sure we could enkoy andrelax completely. Yesterday when we returned from our bicycle trip, during which we had a heavy rainshower and were completely soaked. The owner rushed out with umbrellas and his wife waited with towels and put newspapers in our wet shoes. This really felt as coming home! We tried both the Japanese and Western breakfast, they were both excellent. 
If you are staying in Matsumoto this the place we strongly recommend! 



Excellent Japanese experience in Ryokan Seifuso Matsumoto 

We were greeted with smiles and availability, a beautiful room (it looked like it was in a Japanese historical film) with great Onsen.

It's a wonder.

We had stay for two days in a familiar room very cozy. The ryokan is very comfortable and has a good bath. Japanese breakfast is excellent. There is a nice backyard where you can stay or have your own meals. If you don’t have a car they take you from the station to the hotel and back and provide free bycicles to move around. The owners are very kind.

A very nice stay

We had a ball in Matsumoto whilst staying at this friendly Ryokan. Bikes to ride, Onsen, breakfast and a view. Lots of local information and again owners so friendly. Breakfast either Japanese or western both were delicious and filling.

So friendly and helpful

We spent two nights in Matsumoto on our way to Kamikochi Valley. The ryokan was very comfortable and we enjoyed staying in a traditional Japanese room for the first time. The owners were extremely hospitable and gave us rides to and from the train station. We also used their free bikes to get around town and go out to dinner. The best part was the amazing Japanese breakfast!

Comfortable stay, excellent hospitality

Owners went out of their way to make our stay great, including pickup and drop off. Biking around was easy and fun. 
Western Bed was somewhat hard. Would stay in a Japanese room next time. 
Shared bathroom and shower/onsen functioned. Onsen was really sized for one person at a time so be prepared to queue / time your use. 

Cozy, welcoming

Our group of 9 people stayed 2 nights in this charming ryokan. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and the breakfast (Japanese or Western) is very good. Baths (onsen) are included in the ryokan, not very large but quite correct. The owners are very welcoming and friendly, and offer free bus transfers to the train station. The area is very pleasant, and allows you to rest after the frenzy of the big cities.

Authentic and comfortable Ryokan

We were in the side building, which is easy and a little uncomfortable because you have to walk across the yard to the bathroom. But there is a toilet and sink in the building itself, also a small kitchen with some dishes. The room was convenient, Japanese with 2 futons. The location is good and quiet. You can always walk along the river to the city center, supermarkets are also within walking distance. The good thing is that there is a free parking space right in front of the house. The reception and farewell was very nice. The young woman speaks perfectly English and is very helpful with tips to take a trip around the area.
