If you're looking for a comfortable, well located hotel then this is a very good choice.

While this is not a hotel for anyone looking for luxury, this is a very good hotel for someone looking for a place to stay in Morioka. Rooms are comfortable if verysmall, and it is very well located, right by the station.

All of the staff I dealt with were incredibly helpful and very friendly, and were I to go to Morioka again I would be very happy to stay here again.

Well located with very helpful staff

Stayed in this hotel for 1 nights during our 21days tour in Japan.  
My 2nd stay in this hotel outlet and surprisingly the receptionist can remember me. She asked if i visited there a year ago. Haha!

We stop by Morioka for one reason, i.e. to enjoy Maesawa beef. Hotel receptionist helped me book the restaurant.

Hotel is just directly opposite Morioka station, but not to confuse with the toyoko inn near the south exit. Basic, budget, but completely functional

Will continue to stay in this outlet should i need to stay in Morioka in future.

Great location, comfy stay and nice helpful receptionist

The price is reasonable and I could have a comfotable stay in this hotel. It is located just in front of the Morioka station. Breakfast is free. The convenience store is near the hotel. In breakfast, we can eat local soup, very nice.

Nice location

As with all hotels of theis chain the location is good and the room of a good size for the price.
Spotless clean, friendly staff.
It annoys me when people write about the lack of English spoken by the staff, do they forget that this is a Japanese hotel in Japan, also that they complain about the size of the room. 
Stop moaning and learn some basic Japanese and then you real see the real country not just be one of the many lazy travellers who expect Japan to be like their home country.

Comfortable stay

We stayed here for two nights on a tour of Japan during August 2016.  If you are travelling by train, the location is excellent as it is just outside the main station.  Check-in and check-out were both very efficient and the staff were cheerfully helpful.  The only type of room available when I booked was an economy double which meant that it was very small, but at budget prices in Japan you have to expect this.  Breakfast was good but I have had better breakfasts in other Toyoko-inn hotels.  We were in Morioka for the sansa odori drumming and dancing festival at the beginning of August - not well-known outside Japan but this was one of the highlights of our trip so it would be well worth your while timing a visit during the first four days of August if you can.

Excellent location but very small room

Having been to many Toyoko Inns before, I was already prepared for the size of this room. Yet, I was sorely disappointed at the way the space has been used.

Room type: single room a, non-smoking

Requests: room to be next to my sister, as they don't have twin rooms when I was booking. When I arrived, they claim we are next door to each other - but it's not really. We have a lift between us. No biggie.

Pros: 

Location: right opposite the local bus terminal and train station. A bit more trouble some if you have a luggage - but otherwise you're literally a hop and a skip from the train station, a mini mall, 10 mins walk from a shopping street as well as the street where the summer festival walks down.

The bus terminal also has the tourist bus. 

For geeks - there's an animate 5 mins down the street, a games store within 5 mins as well and a post office nearby if you bought too much.

Free breakfast: always good.

Cons: 

As usual, with Toyoko Inn most of the staffs aren't very good with English. Not too much of a problem though - they normally get pretty creative in having a conversation with you. 

Room arrangements, space management:

I am not quite sure why this room is designed this way. If not for the fact that I am here only 2 nights, this might have been quite tedious for me. As you can see from the pictures, there's barely any room between bed, wall and table. I can barely open the fridge door. There's definitely no way I can angle in my luggage unless I put some work into it. And my luggage is only medium size (so about 65cm tall?). 

There is, however, an extremely long and useless corridor. 

Also means I can't do any work on the available desk, because awkward space means I can barely sit down.

Having stayed in multiple Toyoko Inns in the last 4 years of visiting Japan, this would mark the first time I am actually complaining about their terrible space management because it annoyed me.

Sister's door doesn't seem to shut properly, not even their cleaners could remember to shut it tight. 

Good location, staff. Tight room space

The hotel is located a short distance from the station (4 minutes walk), you have to cross only one road and it is located in a side road in front of the station, the blue sign is however already detectable from the train on arrival at the station. In the vicinity of the hotel there is a convenient store open 24h a 24h. Near the station there is also a department store. The women on arrival at the hotel are given various gifts (face masks, hair salts, bath salts, shower sponge and tonic and cream for the face).

Excellent location and excellent services

A small room but with everything needed, very close to the train station, Japanese breakfast, very comfortable and with everything needed, I was pleasantly surprised.
