Just happened upon a brilliant deal for this hotel. Free shuttle offered twice a day to and from the hotel to Gamagori station (30 minutes) The hotel has a commanding position on the top of a hill.The Japanese style tatami rooms are large (some with small balcony) the perfect place to look out over the water and to watch the sun setting.

The public baths are really large and the two outdoor baths offer lovely garden views or views at night over Gamagori itself (the baths change at midnight so you get the chance to experience all of the baths before checking out at 10)

The set fish dinner course was very good including such things as fugu (blowfish) and awabi (abalone) and the buffet breakfast offered a very good selection of both Japanese and western fare.

All in all excellent value for money and a great place if you just want to take a bath and enjoy looking out over the water. It's in an isolated spot so you should stock up on any food and drinks you require before getting on the shuttle at the station.

Wonderful find...with fine views

Perhaps a bit dated but Maiko, the on staff English speaker, was wonderful, if a bit confused as to how non-japanese speakers without a car ended up here.  Good shuttle service from gamagori station.  The food wasn't fantastic but the view sure is.  Bit of a mixed bag.  Good if you want to see how the Japanese go on holiday though a bit pricey.

My parents and I stayed in this hot spring inn for a night from February 24.  The location is remote and the hotel is nearly at the top of a hill.  Fortunately, free shuttle bus service is provided to and from Gamagouri station.  The view from our room was nice, and the air was fresh.  The staff were friendly and professional.  I didn't need to tell them who I was or show them my booking, but when I arrived they already knew about my reservation.  The hot spring was great too, with an outdoor hot spring.  The hotel provided hotel guests with free drink from 4 pm to 6 pm.  One thing was really good that free machine massage was provided.  It was relaxing to get massage after hot-spring.  The set dinner meal was alright although there was an abalone and beef steak.  One thing I was a bit disappointed was some dishes (e.g. barbecue fish and fried fish) had become cold before we arrived at the dining hall.  If it had been summer, I won't have minded.  However, in winter, I prefer hot or at least warm dishes.  The hot springs were great, with an outdoor one and I could see beautiful scenery.  Some people, especially modern people, may find this hotel not very good because there is no wifi or Internet connection facilities for mobile phone.  They provide a LAN line for the Internet connection only if you have your own computer.  There are not anything to see and visit nearby the hotel, although you may enjoy some games, karaoke and entertainment at extra charges in the hotel.  It is really a place for relaxing and free from the Internet.

+ nice looking onsen hotel on top of hill + there's an english speaking staff on site, otherwise most cannot communicate in english + dinner excellent quality - air conditioning filtering system very bad as can still smell of smoke although in a non smoking room
