Very near the train station and bus stop to catch the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine ( TKA)  route bus.  Sleeping arrangement is Japanese tatami style.  so too is the shared bathroom. There is also a shared toilet. Toiletries are provided. And so too is the Japanese styled pajamas.  There is a shared kitchen where there is a fridge, microwave oven, two electric jugs, thermos flask, Pot for making Chinese tea, Chinese tea drinking cups.  Not a bad place to stay if one wants to start the TKA route from Shino Omachi or to rest  for the night after ending he TKA route. Before embarking on the TKA route, one should take the transportation time schedule from the information counter at the lounge. Then proceeded to read n detail at the sofa in the lounge. One also can request for the luggage delivery process for the TKA route free m the he front desk.

The hotel is very close to Shinano Omachi station. My room is clean and quiet. The free wifi is pretty fast and is available in the whole building. There is a lovely garden at the roof top with nice views of the mountains. There is a public bath on the ground floor (one for each gender). Staff is helpful despite speaking limited English. I skipped breakfast because I wanted to catch the earliest bus to Ogizawa (for the Tateyama Route). Bring insect repellent as there are mosquitoes. (I was bitten by one in my room at night.)

3 minute walking distance from Shinano Omachi Station. On the other side across the road there is a new shopping mall with good sized supermarket, drug store and 100yen store. Eateries are only 5 minute walking distance from this little family run ryokan. Host was super friendly. She keeps a beautiful rooftop garden. I enjoyed a beautiful sunset watching the North Alps. Although the ryokan is a bit aged, facilities are kept very clean. The home cook Japanese breakfast was delicious.

Once we came down from Tateyama Alphine route, we check into this hote.l Decent place. Dinner and breakfast were very good.  However, we were all bitten by mosquitoes all over our arms and face. It was really bad. The owner should have told us about it, so that we will use the burnt the incense which was outside the door.  A very quiet town in Omachi. I suggest those who decend from Alphine route, go straight back to Matsumoto or Nagano.

I booked a night here for a local marathon race. My criteria? Reasonable price, proximity to the train station and nice webpage. 

I arrived early morning and dropped in before lunch, but they let me check in and leave my heavy baggage so I could go sightseeing without all the weight. The staff were still cleaning up but my room was ready, and so was the hot bath. I took a quick bath after a long night's travel and went up to their unique rooftop garden with a nice view of the Northern Alps - verrry nice and relaxing. 

I checked out early next morning for the marathon, but went back afterwards to ask them to let me use their hot bath - I really needed one after the race - and they let me use it for free! Very nice place and would recommend to hikers and tourists.
