Great hotel for families. Onsen clean and relaxing. Massage chairs, tv and popsicles. Helpful staff! Clean and spacious rooms (for Sapporo). Good location. Water and towels provided daily. Slippers and spa outfits provided. Amenities buffet available for all toiletries

Great hotel

We visited Sapporo for the snow festival in Feb 2020.  We selected the Leopalace based on location/price and reviews.
On arrival, due to the weather and late night we decided to take a taxi to the hotel, this cost about Y1000.   (after our stay it was fine weather, so we walked back to the JR station which took about 15 minutes).
NB - neither my wife or myself speak Japanese, just a few phrases.
Check in at the hotel was easy and straight forward, and we were directed to lifts behind reception.  Our room was clean and spacious by Japanese standards.
We chose not to book breakfasts, we were there for the snow festival so there was a huge variety of fresh market style food available.  The hotel was a very short walk from the main avenue where the festival is held.  There is 7/11 located on the corner of the hotel and also a long shopping arcade a couple of minutes walkaway.

We wanted to use the hotels spa facility which is shown to be on floor 9. we put on the robes provided but having taken the lift up to floor 9 we found only bedrooms.  so we called reception and mistakenly asked for direction to the onsen (we should have said public bath) because we asked for the wrong thing we were told the hotel does not have an onsen and then they hung up the phone.   So I changed in to regular clothes went to reception and eventually worked out that the only way to the spa was via another lift in reception.  Because we had to walk through reception  we elected to wear regular clothes which was fortunate because eonce we found the spa area there were large signs telling you in English)  not to wear your robes in reception,  of course by the time you read that in the spa you would have already walked through reception.  I don't mind if there is little English signage  but if you take the time to have English translations put them where they can be of use - IN THE ROOMS.
(oh and you need to take the towels from your room to use in the spa too) .

We found the room temperature very comfortable and both slept well during our stay.

We asked the reception to make a dinner reservation for us at a popular restaurant for our second night, this took a little while as initially they assumed we wanted to book into the hotel resturant, but once we passed this confusion they reception were very helpful.  Making sure we had our booking reference and even showing us on a map where it was (even though we already knew this).  Other than the phone call about the onsen/bath we found the reception staff very friendly and willing to help.

Snow Festival

Asked for non smoking connecting rooms. Got two rooms not connected and the kids room was smoking and wreaked! Left for another hotel no refund was given. Poor attitude we’re laughing at me. Don’t stay!

Absolutely horrendous. Avoid at all costs!

The first impression I got from this hotel was that it was very clean. It also seems to be quite modern. The location is also good with a small super market in the same building on the ground floor and many shops, restaurants, and bars within easy walking distance.
The breakfast buffet had a good selection of high quality food. I would recommend getting breakfast included in your rate since it is JPY 1,800 if you add it on separately.
Wi-fi was free and worked well.

Modern and Clean

Convenient location 5-10 minutes walk away from the main shopping and dinning area in downtown Sapporo, and Odori subway station. Excellent and prompt service from staff. The room was provided with a smartphone equipped with data and GPS which aided us in our travels around Sapporo. Comfortable and clean room.

Great vacation in the heart of Sapporo

This is a comfortable hotel located right next to the Tanukikoji shopping street with many good restaurants and shops. We stayed 3 to a room & it was spacious enough for  us. Good service especially with a local phone with data provided. Highly recommended.

Nice and clean hotel in central location

Me and my wife did stay at Leopalace-Sapporo from 9th. July to 15th. July 2016. At the fornt desk not many speaks English but there was one person who speaks English and with his help I have no problem to roam around all the notable tourist places in and Sapporo. Room was quite specious by Japan standard and their cleanliness compares to none. Big spread of breakfast including Japanese and continental. All in all a value for money place in central Sapporo where most tourist attractions are within walking distance  . . .

Helpful staff in a distant place

I booked this hotel with 3 nights + air conditioner. My room has a two floor which first floor has one bed and bathroom, TV, wardrobe, refrigerator and second floor has two single bed. Receptionist are nice and quick check-in process. Family mart is near this hotel with an great ice-cream. This hotel is not far from tanuki koji area.
However, the location of leopalace hotel will take about 10 minitues from neartest train station (ST, NIshijuicchome) or odori park.
