A beautiful wooden lodge set within easy access to the national park. The kitchen area is really well resourced and the lodge is warm and comfortable with everything provided. We arrived in mid October so it was too cold for BBQs, however it looked like a perfect place for a BBQ and beer after a days hiking in the mountains in summer. We had a hire car with sat nav which made finding this location easy and getting to the trail heads easy (bout a hours drive including stops.)

A gem of a place close to shiretoko national park

Comfortable bed, quiet, wooden decor, very clean and spacious, strong wifi, big kitchen to use with all the cooking utensils, free coffee/tea/miso, salad dressing, variety of jams etc. They even let the guests to use the hot spring facilities for free.  
Location is a bit far from the Shari JR station/ bus station (about 2 km away) but that should not be a problem as we can use their bicycle for free. Once you reach the Shari bus station, there are easy connection to Utoro or Shiretoko national park.
The rates for bed/rooms here are so much lower than everywhere else in Japan.
I love this place so much and will definitely go back!

Great find at a hard-to-believe price!

The Clione Camp Guesthouse is a basic accommodation, with fascinating Japanese-style rooms as well as dormitories, shared toilet and two onsen. The atmosphere was great, the personnel friendly and it was really tidy. Furthermore, the price was really low.

Great experience

Very nice wooden houses. Basic shop with drinks and food. With public transport quite difficult to get there, but the owner gave us a lift to the train station. Remote place where you can stay in a tent, wooden house or shared room.

Friendly alternative place

Cool place with friendly staff, it's quite close of the city centre but still remote and they have free maps of the city. We had a small cottage and had a place to park our car. There is free wifi at the reception and also a free onsen which you can use privately. I would definitely want to come back here again. We payed 4.800 yen for a cottage for one night.
