Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable, a large bathroom, a hot shower, all very suitable considering the price. Breakfast is paid for separately and is not managed by the facility but by a nearby shop: this one I would advise you to organize it for your own affairs by wanting a room with a boiler and spicy.

Good accommodation to organize your days at sea

It is located 5 minutes walk from the ferry port. There is a supermarket on a block open until 22h. The staff speaks basic English, was very friendly and offered us tours. The bathrooms and showers are clean. After 22h there is no hot water. It has a small kitchen with microwave, fridge and water heater. The room (for 4 people) was spacious and the air conditioning worked well. The beds were a little rough. Only cash was accepted.

Lindo and modest hostel, we feel very comfortable.

Zamami is a very small island, where it is not always easy to find free accommodation, which explains why the prices are average high. We found a fairly advantageous offer for this guest house in a private room. It's all very sparse: small room and bathroom, modest futon beds, small spaces, however what we found exactly matched the descriptions, so we didn't have any negative impact.

No negative surprises

To enjoy the island better, I slept one night in this guesthouse, small room but with every comfort, even the fridge, I chose the room with the tatami and slept really well. shared shower but cmq bathroom meant as a toilet and small private sink in the room. Overall, to stay only one night, good accommodation, of course a little spartan, but it was obvious.

A good guesthouse for a stay at Zamami.

We booked the guesthouse in October 2017 and due to a typhoon, we had to take the ferry back the same day. There was no problem with the guesthouse, who offered to keep our suitcases all day and didn't ask for anything as a charge. We returned in April 2018 for 4 nights. I was a little worried about the common showers but we are in Japan: super clean and without problems. The owners are very kind. The room has a private toilet and two furnaces, and good Japanese air conditioning. The price ratio is really good. We are also 7 minutes' walk from the port (if you have to drag suitcases) and 2 kilometers from the beach or furuzamami. Formidable!

That's great.

As a couple we have different ideas of what cleaning means: I found the room tends to be clean, even though in tatami there were a fair number of tiny ants (for me, precisely, acceptable) and the walls were scrounged. Of quite positive there is also the central position (to say that the village is small) and that the bathroom, to us sold as in common, was actually also in the room, although minuscule and with the shower mounted on the toilet. In addition, the renters rented a mask and mouthwash for about 500 yen, for all the seats, and decidedly more than is found in Furuzamami Beach (one of the main beaches of the island).

Guest House on duty

You can hear everything. The guy next door decided to snooze his alarm every 2 mins from before 7am until 7.30am and I could hear it every single time. 

The 'beds' seemed quite fun but it is way too hard if you're not used to sleeping on these kind of beds.

Not many breakfast options around the island as most hotels offer breakfast but not Iyonchi as it's one of the most basic ones. We struggled to have breakfast both days, went to Cha Villa where they offered a very simple breakfast but the lady was super helpful and gave us some tips for the island. Apparently the only place for breakfast is La Toque but you need to pre-book the day before. 

I booked a room with a mini bathroom + shower but I am not sure if all rooms have it- there are shared toiled and showers downstairs.



Very basic, overpriced 

Staff were friendly, spoke great English. The room was simple but comfortable. The common area was nice to sit and chat. They have limited rentals for bikes and snorkel/mask, first come first served. Located near the only grocery store on the island. Only con was that they turn off the hot water after from 11pm to 7am. Making early departure showers difficult.

A nice place to return to after a long day at the beach

We spent 4 wonderful days on Zamami Island in Iyonchi Guesthouse. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. Though it is not a luxury hotel, and the room is maybe a bit small but it has all the basic facilities, what we need in such a place (two futon beds, fridge, hair dryer, air conditioner, balcony, kitchen equipments in the common area.) The surroundings of the accomodation is very quiet, and the other guests also didn't disturb us. Everything is very close, the port, the shop, and restaurants take about 5 minutes on foot, in addition Ama- and Furuzamami beaches are also nearby (5/10 minutes by bike). We liked the bike rental for a reasonable price. We thank "Iyonchi family" for everything again! We can absolutely recommend this guesthouse for everybody!

Great accommodation with friendly hosts

The Iyonchi family were so welcoming on arrival of our stay, helped us with booking the ferries prior to our trip and were there to greet us off the ferry. They have good knowledge of the island so gave us lots of recommendations. The guest house was very clean, organised and had great facilities. The island was beautiful, couldn't recommend it enough. Everyone should go to see the sea turtles alone.
