Fantastic ski resort for the family! A typical Club Med experience with activities scheduled for the whole day. Not to mention the unlimited booze, day and night.

Group ski lessons are included as well and the instructors were very professional, well trained and patient. Lessons were very fun and instructors were humorous! A big shout out to Jardin! You are awesome!

The Guest Officers definitely made the difference. They encouraged us to take part in activities, dance with us, dine with us and made sure we are not left alone. Special shout out to Stefan and Yoli! Not only u made us feel welcome, but we became friends!

Overall,  a great and unforgettable vacation!

Amazing Ski Resort!

Our ski trip in March 2024 was truly remarkable, thanks to our ski classes with instructors Jardine (1st day) and Bara (2nd and 3rd day). Bara, in particular, stood out with her exceptional talent and clear, simple explanations. Everyone in our group benefitted greatly from her instruction during the two-day training, I feel safe when skiing under her supervision and can't wait to ski with her again next winter!

ClubMed truly lives up to its reputation as the best in the world for activities. Our days and nights in the village were filled with joy and excitement. The talented and friendly staff, like Logan, who effortlessly entertains on stage (affectionately nicknamed Mr. PSY for his rendition of Gangnam Style), and Tanjung, who captivates our son with his leadership in kids' activities (fondly known as Mr. Dragon for his playful antics in a dragon suit), left a lasting impression. Every night, the entire staff wowed us with performances like the mesmerizing Taiko drum show, lively dance performances, and jaw-dropping acrobatics. Our experience was truly unforgettable.

We received excellent support from Nana (GO) and the helpful girls at the shop when renting ski suits and purchasing goggles and T-shirts and staff at ski gear shop. 

In fact, every staff member in every area was incredibly kind and supportive. We're already looking forward to returning!

A remarkable experience at ClubMed Sahoro

One of the best family skiing holidays we have ever been on. Everyone we had the privilege of encountering at ClubMed we friendly, energetic and helpful.

In particular I would like to mention the following people who stood out for me for being outstanding ClubMed G.O’S and mangers…

Shiho - for taking the initiative and looking after our children like they were your own. You have an innate parenting ability that could never be taught.

Anoop - your passion for food is seen in the high quality dishes you deliver everyday. I love that you bring in your our cultural tastes into the food you serve. The bunny chow and butter chicken were one of my favourites.

Manu - thank you for being so accommodating in the dinning area, always making sure we were taken care of. 

Charlie - for being such patient and likeable ski instructor. 

Zsofi - for believing in our snowboarding ability and taking us on some memorable runs. You make great pancakes too!

Dan G. - for being the most precise and thorough snowboarding teacher - my abilities and confidence grew immensely after our sessions. You must have had great teachers growing up ;-)

Ferry - for being such a likeable barman

Felix - for whipping up the best cocktail I’ve ever had

Yoko - for your trivia knowledge when we needed it most, and your beautiful voice. Keep singing!

To everyone at ClubMed thank you for an incredible week. We have now landed safely back in Perth and can’t wait to come back next year!

Outstanding!!!!

If you want a stress free and guaranteed full of life holiday, you come to clubmed! This holiday is made spectacular because of the people hosting you called the G.Os. They work with so much heart and enthusiasm and long hours just to ensure you get the happiest holiday! From ski lessons, to F&B, to entertainment, and reception… it’s nothing but top notch.  I need to shout out to some of mine and family’s favorite GOs who will always be on our minds as they always go a little further for us to be comfortable and happy and safe!
From F&B, none other than Hugo from Mexico! He is such a hardworking and sweet host. A sincere man who serves with his heart. Not forgetting all the waiters and waitresses and the amazing chefs who work round the clock to ensure our food is hot, delicious and well served!
From the mini club, Shiho and Mai for taking extreme good care of my kid and giving me and husband such a stress free break! They are just angels for the kids!
From the ski team…. They rock!!!! I have never seen a team so enthusiastic, patient, qualified and fun! They are Chiara, Dodo, Pauline, Charlie, Yuko, Heather, Aina, Aiya, Henry, James, Craig, Michael and definitely not forgetting Stefan! My daughter had a broken arm a month before we went, the whole ski team and the mini club took so much precaution and care for her to still be able to ski in a safe way! We can truly trust them and the kids love them! For me and my husband, so much techniques and encouragement were given we became instant “pros”! Hahaha. We love to ski now because of them!
From the reception, a smooth check in, check out and going the extra mile to arrange better transport times for us, Jean from Taiwan and Miya from China! 
Last but not least, thank you Logan, Jason and their team in entertaining us with catchy songs and crazy signs and daily shows! 
And to the chief of them all, thank you Brandon! The barbecue after ski in the snow and the fireworks are just brilliant! And the introduction and closing of each show just cracks us up with his witty and intelligently funny statements…
Thank you so much to all of you! My daughter cried so much leaving the village. Our holiday will not be so memorable without you! We will surely be back!

What a rewarding holiday!

This was the first family ski holiday, and we picked Club Med especially for the format of the holiday and the specific holiday service they provided.  Organising a family holiday is hard enough without adding skiing into the mix but the Team at Club Med Sahoro - Hokkaido nailed it!

I echo a lot of what has already been said in the previous reviews.  Quality and variety of the food was excellent, Ski instruction was also excellent and thoughtful (not snobby at all).  Depending on your level, the runs were all achievable after tuition.

We went with friends and our children were of a similar age (6 and 9 years of age).  When we left them at 8:30am for ski school we didn’t see them until they returned in the afternoon at 3pm.  More importantly they loved it when they came back!  My son and daughter started with zero skiing experience and were both skiing confidently within 3 days.  I like the way Club Med grade their ability which keeps them motivated to achieve more and more importantly, positive to achieve more.   

I had to remember that the majority of the Club Med G.O's were very still young adults themselves.  They came and sat down at lunch (totally understand that at times that must be a bore for them depending on how they feel) and interacted with the guests.  They all had excellent conversational skills and seemed like all very well rounded individuals - fantastic life skills to have and hone at such a place.  The GOs also were heavily involved in the guest evening entertainment as well.  Sounds cheesy but it was sincerely fun and I hope they enjoyed doing it as much as we enjoyed watching it.  Great Trivia (as we won) and karaoke night.

What I really liked about this Club Med resort was that it was smaller compared to other ski resorts I have been to (mostly in Europe though). They always seem hectic with everyone fighting for space and queuing for ski lifts. I know we went at the end of the season but the ‘vibe’ at this place was just right for us and our first skiing holiday…  welcoming, unpretentious, relaxed.  

So well done to Brandon and all the team there.  You did it well !!!! 

Thanks to all The G.O.s but the ones we mostly interacted with when we were there and want to say special thanks to are Ben (adult ski instruction), Craig (adult ski and drinking instruction) , James (kids ski instruction), Pauline (kids ski instruction), Shiho (kids organisation), Bara (Adult ski instruction), Dan G (no skiing but nice chap and good luck in Aberdeen), Dodo (kids ski instruction), Charlie (adult ski instruction), Henry (adult ski instruction), Heather (kids ski instruction) and Aya (kids ski instruction).

Perfect 1st Family Ski Holiday - Lovely vibe to the place!!

We stayed in Club Med as a family in April, our first experience in Club Med did not disappoint. Rooms are clean, the hills are beautiful, and most of all, the staff in this hotel are wonderful. 
The chiefs are always changing the menu and serves good quality food. Enfs, Tamara and others are always checking in on our family to make sure we have everything we need. 
As a family of ski beginners, the instructors are amazing!  Kids enjoyed the ski classes and they adored their coach Emma and Tom, my coach Emi and Callum have both been so patient 
It is not the grandest or newest Club Med  hotel, but I feel relaxed and well looked after.

Great family holiday

as a first time Club Med guest, overall a great experience. the staff work really hard to provide a fantastic family atmosphere. ski instruction standard first rate and the versitle skills of many staff helped to provide great evening entertainment  emi n ethan fab adult ski instructors n enes esp helpful in the restaurant, but every staff member really contributed

On our arrival, Chris at the reception desk greeted us and showed us around the resort, helping organize ski hire for us and booking us for lessons the next day. Our first night we were treated to local Hokkaido crab on the buffet menu.  The dessert table was always spectacular. 

Thank you to Enes, Tamara, Susiro, Ray and Boy who always were happy to assist and help with things, especially when my daughter dropped a glass of water on the floor at the restaurant.  Enes was always there at every meal and had an uncanny ability to remember everyone's drink of choice.
The Wakka bar was always a great place for apres drinks and snacks. I loved the all inclusive cocktails and there were snowcones/ slushies for the children as well.

Having ski passes and ski lessons included with the accommodation and food and beverage package was excellent ! I most likely would be snowboarding less than 4 hours a day if I was snowboarding by myself.  It was great to meet other families from different parts of the world also during the lessons.  I was able to improve my snowboarding skills thanks to the patience and expertise and experience of Greg, Callum and Ryuyu.

Childcare is greatly appreciated and cheaper than finding a babysitter privately.  My daughter who has special needs was able to feel welcomed by the staff and other children at Mini Club.  Thank you to all the staff at Mini Club for your kindness and hard work.

In addition, thank you to the Entertainment team - the shows were magnifique and enthralling.   Unfortunately I won't be taking up rollerskating, lyra, silks or trapeze anytime soon !

Reading other reviews,  I was aware that this resort is secluded so there is minimal sightseeing around the area if one is keen to visit a Japanese town. I was happy watching the local Japanese shows on TV and happy to listen in to staff speaking Japanese during my week here. I also organized my own flights so there were no tight connections. 

Finally, despite coming in the last week of the Japanese ski season, I was still happy with the snow conditions.  Despite certain lifts not in operation due to either thinning snow coverage or gale winds,  I was able to snowboard a variety of terrain and still made it home in one piece. 

Club Med Sahoro is a well organized resort and the enthusiasm and energy of the staff here demonstrate their commitment in making this holiday one to remember for myself and my family. 


Stress-free snow holiday in Sahoro, Japan 

Club Med lived up to all expectations. Great skiing, great staff - our ski instructors were fantastic and listened to our needs.  The food was great and the dining staff were amazing. We had a wonderful week of skiing.

Sahoro

The resort is very clean and stylish, with free onsen and outdoor Canadian bath that is divine.
A good variety of slopes are available for all levels to enjoy, with some small jumps but no boxes or rails. Ski rental and shop are well equipped and have a good selection of gear.
Buffet food is good with an international mix of cuisines. Hope they can have the salmon roe more often in the future!
Instructors were professional and skilled, especially Barney, Dima and Greg who helped improve my snowboarding a lot!
Staff were all very friendly and created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The shows were very impressive and a must-see! Even with a small stage performers like Top and Poko could still showcase their immense talent in gymnastics, acrobatics and dance.
A very special thank you to Dylan, Poko and Loki for being exceptional hosts, making the trip unforgettable and full of laughter! Thank you for taking such good care of us and I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did :)
