It is a simple hotel, with no big claims. The hotel is located about 10 minutes' walk from Shirahama beach. There is nothing nearby except a hairdresser and a Family Mart. If you want to eat something, you must necessarily go to the beach. The rooms are quite large compared to the Japanese average and have a terrace and a bathroom with a hot tub that faces the porch. Breakfast is quite simple and equal every morning: 2 slices of toasted bread, an egg, a worstel and a salad, accompanied by a drink of your choice.

Too bad about the service.

It's true that we booked this hotel one day because there was no free room at the Hotel Shiraraso for that day.The hotel is very normal, but it is quite far from the beach and the little locals that are in this town.To get there you have to go through the arc of a road, there are no roads or sidewalks, which is dangerous.It's not a good option to spend a few days on the beach, which is what foreigners normally look for in that area.

Away from everything, there's nothing around.

The hotel looks exactly like the pictures. It's at the bay, 10-15 minutes walk to the beach, buses drive, but I've never used them, and so close. There are cafes, toilets nearby. The room was spacious, lots of hangers for clothes, cups, glasses, graffiti with water, green tea and coffee with sugar, refrigerator, mosquito remedy, lots of towels, facial shampoo/conditioner/shower gel, garbage clothes (there was no shortage), a fancy jacket in my taxi cab, my TV, my chair, and a table at the hotel's lounge. Everything was very clean, there was a lot of dust, my furniture was clean, and updated.

I really liked it.

By Japanese standards, the rooms are large, the hotel is close to the ocean, although not on the beach with white Australian sand, very clean, cozy. The price is high for a two-star hotel, but compared to other Syracuse hotels, it's quite acceptable.

It's a good hotel.

It's amazing, it's so quiet and quiet, I'm glad I didn't book a hotel on the beach, it was really nice to be in the room, it's a big room, the balcony overlooks the bay, the bathroom is equipped with everything, the bathroom on the balcony is a great idea, I enjoyed the water treatments. It has a teacup, tea and coffee, a refrigerator, a big TV. The bed is comfortable, it slept great. But don't forget to turn on the mosquito controls at night.

It's a quiet place.

beautiful cozy relaxing hotel!!! I love the charming sea view in my room and balcony. and the jacuzzi in my room with seaview!!! good location!!! Just a few stops from JR station and toretore fish market for food and shopping!!! A convenience store is just around the corner. Also a big supermarket nearby within 15 minutes walk distance. Nice friendly and helpful boss and staff. Boss speak some English and even Mandarin! A Philippine room cleaning lady can help with translation. Price is so reasonable!!! Worth every dollar i spent!!! Or even more!!!

beautiful cozy environment! good location n staff

if  in advance you already have the following : 
a rental car and a rental smartphone with internet usage 

then this hotel/motel is considered   one of the best location and value in Shirahama 
everything by car is next you (beach, dinosaur kids park  Convenient sores etc) 
rooms were  ok  with a s great view and thee was a very bathtub  jacuzzi  and near the rooms there was an onsen which was something refreshing.

there is no elevates only stairs but i didn't mind since our luggage weren't that heavy 
the staff were very friendly but i guess they sleep early because you barely see them after 9PM .
it is very quite at night which is something I perfer after a long day at the beach and outside with the family 
 
I would definitely recommend this hotel to those who  meets  the conditions that i typed earlier and  who wants to have a semi modern/traditional Japanese hotel experience and a friendly atmosphere.

great under certain conditions

In the 25 years we've been in Japan, we've never, I'm sure, had such a bad service. Our room hasn't even been built in two days! The boss asks us if we need dry towels or empty the garbage can.

The hotel is right, but there's no boss and no service.

Went there with family. I was revisiting this hotel but my family was the first time to stay there. The boss Mr. Haito was very friendly. He even spoke some Chinese & English :D

My family enjoyed the stay a lot. All rooms had a view to the sea with balcony. They had a Japanese shower, which you could sit down and enjoy cleaning yourself, and separate whirlpool bathtub. Room quality was great as the past. They had a helper Ms. Maria from The Philippines and spoke fluent English and Japanese. The breakfast was great American-Japanese style with coffee, tea or orange juice. You could even enjoy it at the seaside terrace. 

The hotel was away from JR Shirahama station like other good seaside resort in the area so you better take taxi / drive if you don't want to wait for a bus. It could take a long time to wait for one and if you don't read Japanese / Kanji (Chinese characters) it may be a problem for you to get off at the right stop. If you do want to take a bus there, get off at "桟橋" (pontoon). It would take maybe 15 min walk from the hotel to go to the famous SHIRARAHAMA BEACH. Driving would be a much better choice. 

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to those who want to have a boutique hotel experience and a friendly atmosphere.

Revisit- great room, boss and staff

I only stayed one night in shirahama to spend a day at the sea. the hotel is very well maintained, very clean and with large and spacious rooms. ours also had a hot tub overlooking the portico. the only problem is the lack of an elevator, but the room was on the first floor. the beaches are easily reached with a walk of about 10/15 minutes, and the hotel has a bus stop a few meters away. the owner is very kind, speaks English and also accompanied us to the station on the last day. the city is not very lively in the evening but lovely and with a relaxing seating at the sea
