We are very happy with our first ever hotel stay in Japan! I had no idea rooms would be so tiny but I’m guessing that is normal for hotels that are near the city and not $$$$. I found this place while searching for somewhere cheaper but still nice and with good areas around for adventures and good food. This was the perfect place! The staff is amazing and so helpful! You get to pick out your pillow and they have a pajamas you can wear. We have a 5 month old and we baby proofed the top bunk in the bedroom so I could crawl up and feed him when he needed and felts after than sleeping with him in our bed! Super fun trip!

Tiny but perfect!

Super friendly (maybe even overly friendly) front desk staff. You can receive snacks for filling out surveys or bringing unused toothbrushes etc to reception. Choice of pillows at reception too. Room itself was nice. 
Before arriving we emailed (in Japan) about reserving a parking space. We received a reply...four hours after checking in. It was in English. It was a generic email about everything from tattoos to breakfast, but did not answer our simple request, and in fact inquired about details already stated in our original message. Seemed to have simply noticed the gaijin name, freaked out, not read the email at all, and sent the all-purpose response. Unfortunately it was also hard to understand in parts due to the poor English. Only one elevator so basically stops at every floor during busy breakfast time or when the cleaning staff are going about their business. 

No Speaky the Engrish

Immaculately clean, reasonably priced, very nice (not tiny) well-equipped room, super comfortable bed, and seriously - a beautiful delicious breakfast; I love this place. Something about my room and bed made me sleep really well too. Most of the time, I’m a bad sleeper - up and down all night, playing games (Cookie Run), watching videos (Judge Judy), writing reviews (TripAdvisor), etc. But here, I slept through all 3 nights of my stay. The blackout window shade I’m sure helped. Really loved the breakfast. Half the time I’m at hotels I usually skip breakfast but here, I really looked forward to it. It’s not really a large buffet, but they do it very well with mostly healthy choices. And they mix it up every morning so you’re not having the same thing day after day.  Charming, professional staff too. There’s a super friendly lady named Mitsui at the front desk who always seems to be there - I saw her both in the mornings and evenings. I am glad too because she was quite helpful with directions and information for helping me to navigate Takamatsu. She really is perfect, and I hope the owners of the hotel recognize this and give her a big fat pay raise right now. Because of the phenomenal Mitsui and the rest of the staff here at Super Hotel Takamatsu Kinenkan, I’m going to try to stay again at this Super Hotel chain whenever I’m traveling around Japan.  They seem to really know what they’re doing here.

Love It Here

This is the second time I stay at this hotel. It is just like other Super Hotels: free breakfast, free extra amenities for ladies, big beds, small rooms and smaller washrooms. There is supposed a public bath but male and female guests are accessible at different times. I'm never at the hotel at the time slots available for female guests, so I don't know how it is like. It is good that dishes available at the buffet breakfast vary a little bit from day to day. The location is good though it may be too quiet at times. There are vending machines or you may go to the convenience stores around the train station. The entire hotel is prohibited from smoking. Some staff is super-friendly but certainly, not many can speak English.

Good deal if you want to save on accomodation

Stayed here three times, not so satisfying experience.
First time was given an extraordinary small room (smaller than usual superhotel room).
Second time had to wait long for check in.
Third time could not open door with passcode given.

In terms of service , Superhotel tamachi in Takamatsu is better. And this superhotel is further away from shopping street which makes it inconvinent. 

If it is raining outside and walk to this hotel without umbrella, you would get wet because the road leading there is not covered like Tamachi....

Tamachi is better

I stayed in Super Hotel for three days in total. I would said that this hotel is value for money. The location is good and it takes around 5 minutes walk to station with metro and buses. Hotel design is quite good and the overall feeling is comfortable. The staff is helpful thought they are not speaking with fluent English, they do their best to answer your questions. You can select your own pillow on the date of your arrival and receive a set of toiletry items for your onsen time. I think it’s a good welcome set for visitors. Though the twins bed room I booked is not very big, but I think the room and services are better than what I am expected. I do recommend this hotel to people who go to Takamatsu for a short stay. 

Value for money

We are frequent Japan travelers from Hong Kong, in these few years we visited Japan for almost 20 times.  This is my first time being upset by the services of the hotel.  
We stayed for one night with Super Hotel and checked out in the morning of 21st August.  We found that our car was being placed with notices showing that we are not allowed to park in the lot.  At the first place, we thought there may be some misunderstanding and we tried to explain with the lady in the front desk that we were the guest of the hotel last night.  Then, the lady blamed us not follow the rule of the hotel, which is as a guest we have to proactively inform them for the parking.  And this parking lot is reserved by another Japanese guest.  
To be fair, we were not trying to make excuse on this misunderstanding and agreed to pay the fine for we did not notice the rule and we did parked in a ‘reserved’ lot, even though there was no sign marked as reserved or no cone placing on it.  However, we just want to explain to the lady that we were not intentionally to break the rule and she could communicate with the staff who served us last night.  Because this staff should saw us parked in the lot at around 11pm while she was feeding the cat, but we were not being informed or alerted at that time. Unfortunately, the lady rejected and was very sure it was our fault, and kept blaming us with bad attitude to make the Japanese guest very angry and saying they can call the police for the illegal parking.  
To cut it short, honestly this is our first time heard about this rule.  We stayed in different hotels in Japan, all of them are actively ask us how we come there and show us where we could park the car.  I am sorry about the Japanese guest being angry, but I hope Super Hotel please do not forget we were also your guests.  We are also upset being treated with this kind of attitude from your staff and being humiliated by her during the peak hour in the morning, with many guests having breakfasts next to the front desk.  Because of her disputes, we sadly missed our ship which booked to Shodoshima at 9am on 21st August, and all our itinerary on that day was delayed.  We truly hope Super Hotel can listen to their guests and being more proactively to ask/ alert their guests instead of blaming the guests.

My first bad experience with Super Hotel

Just one block away from Kawaramachi station, it is more quiet than the other Super Hotel which located right inside the shopping street. But on the other hand, the hotel is very clean, new and quiet. Breakfast is good with local specialties like Udon and Oiri crispy balls to be added to yoghurt.

Onsen is also quiet and a lot of times can enjoy the onsen all by yourself!!

Quiet Hotel

Non-smoking throughout the hotel , is the reason I would choose one of them, there was a hotel receptionist understand Chinese , very good communication. Rooms small but well-equipped , there is a large public bath , but less than the time , I would like to use the time period is male . Free wifi and breakfast, breakfast taste good , but only served until 8:30 would be better to extend the time.
