The place is fantastic, the view is beautiful. Its like being transported back in time. I love this place. The owners are so fantastic and friendly. The rooms is spacious and warm. I love the feel of this hotel. I will sure come back

One beautiful hotel authentic Japanese feel

Asagoya has one drawback and one drawback only, so you should know about it up front:  there are no toilets in the rooms. If you can get beyond that, you will find yourself in a wonderful, very Japanese, charming ryokan with super comfy futons, big rooms and a lovely host who serves some of the best coffee on the planet.  I feel very fortunate that we ended up here and was sad that they were already booked for the following night.

A great place to stay in Kinosaki

The  Asagoya Ryokan is described by a reviewer as 'basic' and for sure that is the case. However the reviewer was very impressed with the overall experience and gave it a high rating. I did the same. Micki (the English name of the person managing Asagoya) is a truly wonderful person, making coffee on request, attending to your needs, and then extending an invitation to go with him and see the Sea of Japan. This we did. He chose wonderful music that touched the spirit. The geography he took us into is magical. Micki is a man who gives of himself. What greater gift is there? The experience is authentic, we went to six Onsens over a three day period. We ate at the small restaurant he recommended (Simple environment, wonderful food and experience.) The location is perfect for Onsen and village access. We will be forever in your debt Micki. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

You get what you paid for and even much more! This is my very first review ever on trip advisor. And that's purely because this host is amazing (!!) and his ryokan is truly honest and easy. 
Very basic but all you need. Great location and spacious rooms. Fresh and fun coffee or tea on your arrival with a detailed explanation of how things work in this town. Walking about town in your morning/day gown and using the baths even in the morning (one just next door) is easy and relaxing.

The private tour by the ever so sweet and excited and helpful host the next morning is the cherry on the top. It's free of charge. He just really enjoys showing you the place he grew up in. 

Thumbs up for this one, if you can enjoy a simple accommodation with Charme and an excited yet very sweet and easy host!



Best value for money 

The host made us feel very welcome and the ryokan has a home feeling. The host goes above and beyond to make you have a great stay. He even took us with his car on a tour to see the sea and awesome caves.

One month in Japan and this was our favourite spot.

Felt like home

Unfortunately, I don't share the great reviews of Tripadvisor. The only positive thing is the kindness of the owner who tries to make you feel at home and offers you coffee or tea with biscuits when you arrive. The structure is too old. The house is full of old and dusty objects. The common bathrooms would need to be renovated. Fortunately, those who go to Kinosaki Onsen use the public bathrooms of the village. There is no shower here. The room is spacious, in Japanese style with tatami and futon, but there are not even the sheets in the bed. The location is excellent because you turn around on the river. As in all the facilities of Kinosaki there are free yuk and wooden sandals available to walk around and even outside the room is included in the guesthouse tax of 350 yen.

Rather old

This very pleasant ryokan gives easy access to all the activities of the city (bathing, what!) The boss is a rare kindness, with little care for his guests.

This Ryokan is really nice. The boss is really welcoming. He took his time to take me to see the coast with his vehicle. Magnificent. The hotel has rooms of different sizes, spread over several floors with all the comfort and cleanliness that Japanese homes deserve. Thank you very much

Kindness and Availability

This small, unpretentious establishment run by a gentleman of incredible kindness is really a good option. I was traveling alone and Miki took care of me by taking me to the beach for a morning on the coast. It's in the minor care and serves you tea and coffee with a little biscuit all day long. The room I stayed in was very large, with a beautiful glass bay overlooking the canal. I loved my stay in Kinosaki and I think it's my favorite place in Japan.

The best option at the best price!

This guest house is located in front of the family mart, near the bridge right by the main canal, a 5-minute walk from the train station and the main halls. Miki, the host, welcomes you with a big smile and serves you a small snack. Besides, he insists that you make him as soon as you want hot or cold drinks. We had room number one, and we have never seen such a large Japanese style room, with a double indoor view of the canal. We who do yoga, this is the first time we don't play ingos just to provide it.
