I had the opportunity to stay here for 5 days for a business trip and here's my review on various aspects:

Location & options nearby (5/5): 

I expected not much when I discovered the company had provided accommodation to me in a place called Tsuchiura but to my delight -  I was well surprised. I expected a hotel more closer to Tokyo metropolitan area to be honest - but this hotel stay location wise proved to be one of my best stays and a wonderful surprise. 

There was a huge lake nearby - called the Kasumigaura lake. And man! It was wonderful. The photos if one searches on the net (I have a slow connection so cant really post) would reveal its beauty. But it was like that I landed up straight at Denmark! Along our walking stroll to the lake, we saw wonderful Japanese landscape, beautiful houses, an open field, a huge wonderful peaceful park with open fields and lawns, an amazing pathway at the end of the park leading to the lake - and what not. It was an exhilarating experience to say the least! Wonderful wonderful place!!

Hotel facilities & Hospitality (4/5): 

Won't say more as most of the times I had to go for work but in all, the stay was really comfortable and it was a standard stay - similar to what we get in any decent hotel 

Food (4/5): 

Had only the breakfast - rest was managed at work. The complimentary breakfast was also standard - and had wonderful tasty options - especially I loved the eggs & the strong coffee - which we don't get at regular places in India.

VFM (-): 

Didn't have to pay so can't really comment on it. But it was a good stay and the lake nearby simply takes it - that made me fall in love with Japan. I also visited Tokyo metropolitan area btw :) Would love to visit once again.

Good business stay

stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during 2016's Tsuchiura Fireworks in October. it was a reasonable stay with big room space. pretty standard facilities. clean. and was provided a simple breakfast. walking distance from station to hotel. ideal for a short stay.

reasonable stay

It was a bad stay for me. For one, I do not smoke but they ran out of non-smoking rooms and I had to make do with the smoking ones. Not their fault but... the state of the room was bad. Smell was horrific. 

Bed only comes with ONE FLAT pillow and it was a pain to sleep with. The floor feels dirty and I can't make myself walk around without the room slippers. 

But I must say, it is really cheap though and really close to Tsuchiura station. Besides that, I wouldn't stay here if I have the choice. 

Budget... Really budget. 

Hotel is right opposite to Tsuchiura station where you can travel to Tokyo in 30-35 mins. This hotel is old and needs some decoration. Rooms are small, bathroom very small. Almost typical student accomodation in a University halls. Bed was very uncomfortable. Lift always makes strange noise. People at the reception always very helpful and polite. You go to a resturant next door for brakefast. It is fairly good Chinese resturant. Price very reasonable.
