Just 3 min walk from Yonago Station, right on the main street! I booked this stay on Rakuten Travel and paid less than 3000 per night for a single. The room was supposed to have to window because of how cheap it was, but I got an upgrade to a regular room with street view. Part of the hotel is renovated (walls, sink, washlet) so it's pretty pleasant. Just that the toilet seat fell on me at 1st because the staff did not tell me I have to pull the entire washlet out because it does not fit the bathroom dimensions. As a clean freak a toilet seat falling on me repeatedly was a straight out nightmare. Anyway, the hotel staff was incredibly nice, and I could store my bag here until late at night, so I am thankful. It was a bit difficult to fall asleep at night because of noisy people out on the street (there were many bars around so many drunk people at night), even though I was on 6th floor. By the way the receptionist is some kinda superhuman- I saw him at all times of day and night and it very much seemed he is working 24/7. Wow.

Cheap and nice

We had  Room 605, and slept well.
Lovely duvet to keep warm.
There is plenty of hot water. 
Storage; We unpack. A broad shelf under the window and at the head of the bed, with the wardrobe managed our stuff. We had a little table and 2 chairs to sit at. 
We had good wifi which uploaded the photos. Wall paper was in good order. Aeon Mall excellent shop. Directed to an excellent coin laundry a few blocks away. Supermarket next to coin laundry. 
Photos give a fair indication of the room we had. 
One person was concerned with security at the front desk. I have had NO concerns about belongings being stolen ANYWHERE in Japan, let alone here at Hotel Sanada

Yonago is central to the area and was a good base. Matsue and beyond to Izumu and north to Tottori.

Comfortable and clean and near the station

Stayed here for one night as a stopover between Tottori and Sakaiminato.

The hotel is as simple as it can get. You walk into the entrance, there is a narrow passageway which probably just fits you and your luggage, a lift on your right, and a tiny reception in front (with their office room behind). There is no coin laundry in the hotel.

The room was really much lower than expectations. Many parts of the wallpaper was coming apart, and it was obvious they were trying to maintain the room by using scotch tape/masking tape to tape the wallpaper up. The room was quite dark, the aircon made a lot of noise throughout the night and the temperature was hard to control. The toilet was bright though. Also, they apparently had free WIFI for each level, but I could not connect to any of them the entire night (for both my mobile phone and ipad). Even tried tapping on the wifi of other levels but failed and eventually I gave up. 

There are no convenience stores nearby. The nearest one is at the Yonago station or another Lawsons about 5-10 minute walk away at the end of the street. The reception offered to lend me a bicycle though! There is an AEON shopping mall somewhere behind which is much nearer than the convenience stores, but it closes about 9pm. Do also note that there is nothing much at the station, though there are a few restaurants along the street. 

I was also quite bewildered when I presented my passport at the reception upon check-in and was told that they do not need my passport as they dont require such procedures, everything would be based on the internet booking information. Also, I left my luggage there after checkout and asked if there was a tag or something which I could collect my luggage at night after sightseeing, but they told me it wasnt necessary, I just had to mention my name. Isnt this kind of a security concern...? 

However, the guy at the reception was really friendly and gave advice when I asked about the convenience stores or eateries nearby. Their reception is also open 24 hours even though they are a small hotel. However, I would probably think twice before staying here again..

Just a place for sleeping I guess

I was on a business trip, and needed somewhere basic to stay near Yonago Station.
The hotel is located 3 minutes walk from the station, so is very convenient for catching a JR train, or a bus to Osaka/Kyoto/Hiroshima etc. 
The hotel is old, but the simple room was clean and had everything I needed. They have a "no-smoking" floor which was very good. 
The owner had already turned on the heater and electric blanket for me, as I arrived late and it was cold and wet outside - this was a nice touch.
In the morning, I had a simple breakfast (bread/toast, boiled egg and coffee).
If you need a simple, cheap place to stay, I recommend Hotel Sanada.
