My husband and I had a great overnight stay in the camp. After our original booking fell through Hilal stepped in and we stayed in a gorgeous tent with a comfy king size bed, glass doors looking out into the desert and our own private bathroom. The dinner was delish, cooked in the Bedouin style in an underground oven with music and dancing to follow! 
We had a couple of great guides for the tours we booked ~ Oud who brought us on the Sunset tour and treated us to Bedouin tea and cookies; and Haji who was our guide for the half day safari. He knew the desert inside out and brought us to some great locations with fab views.
Big thanks to Hilal for fitting us in and providing a great all round service. We had an absolute ball.

Great Bedouin stay in Wadi Rum

We arrived not knowing what to expect at all from both Wadi Rum or the camping but can honestly say that both are incredible. The tent had a very comfortable double bed and plenty of blankets and towels were offered. The tent was a good size too with plenty of space for luggage. The bathroom was really clean and there are 2 toilets and two showers which are shared. The water was hit both morning and evening. The large dining tent was very traditional with a fire pit in the middle. Food was plentiful, varied, traditional and fresh. The camp is quite far in and the jeep transfer in was really fun. You genuinely feel like you are away from everyone. Waking up to camels roaming about our the tent window was fab. 

Hylel who owns the business was fantastic, so friendly and he was very attentive to ensure we had a good time. I would highly recommend staying here as you can feel confident that everything will be good. The camp felt safe and we left our hire car at the village fine too. 

We took the full day tour and were picked up at 09:30 where we travelled in the back if the truck (outside) around Wadi Rum seeing many spectacular sights. The scenery is breathtaking and I actually enjoyed it more than the Grand Canyon. The day finished with the sunset viewpoint (there aren't many places you can see a good sunset due to the rock formations) then back to the camp for a traditionally cooked dinner which was very tasty. 

Really great experience and well worth the money (which wasn't overly expensive anyway but is more than the tour from the visitor center) as literally everything was included, food water etc.

2 nights camping and day tour

The jeep tour in Wadi Rum was perfect, we saw a lot of nice places and our driver Issam was very friendly and helpful. He cooked a delicios lunch for us, took us everywhere we wanted and had a lot of patience to wait for us (we were a group of 7 and he had to wait a lot after us 😃 )
The camp was ok, with clean bathroom and hot water. Traditional bedouin dinner was delicious, with a lot of fresh vegetables (unexpected for desert). Bedouins prepared a traditional dancing and singing after dinner.
Communication with the owner (Halil Al-Balawi) went smoothly on whatsapp, he answered all our questions. He even gave me jordanian tea before leaving home. I totally recommend this camp and the jeep tour.

We had a great stay in Wadi Rum thanks to Hlayl. It is a real family business and because of that we met everyone and his youngest son came with us. It was so much fun to experience the wadi rum desert as part of this family who know every rock, hidden place and secret. Besides that, the camp we slept in was great. After some good food, brothers singing and watching so many falling stars, it was nice to sleep in a good bed. We doubted to sleep under the stars but we’re so tired that the bed was very welcome. When we returned to our car I already missed Mohammed, his youngest son who became our little friend. Hlayl stoked us with gift and we’d exchanged numbers in case he comes to Amsterdam. Thank you so much for the fun we had.

Staff

Helayel- is super helpful and welcomed us in Wadi rum village our meeting point.
He is the organizer for the camp and tour booking.
He is avaiable on whasapp number 00962779561759,we met him at Wadi rum village and left our car there.
Then we took a camel ride to the first highlight Lawrence spring- that was the perfect start of our fully day tour in Wadirum.

Ahmed-
He was our personal guide for 2 days and he drove us with his jeep to the Wadi rum hot spots the first day and 2nd day we climb the highest mountain of Jordan over 1800m high.
He was the best guide, very friendly , funny and helpful and he cooked us our lunch on the perfect spots. 
He always had time to make a little fire in case you got cold, he is a real fire maker.
Even after our tours we could talk to him at dinner time and we got to know more about the Bedouin life.

Ahmed -the dancing cook
We enjoyed a lot the breakfast and dinner time in the main tent.
The chef had yummy food and for dinner was cooked the Bedouin style the food in the ground, very special.
Even they provided vegan food for one of us.
After dinner they showed us Bedouin dance and traditional songs.

Location
The camp is not directly at the entrance - that is the perfect spot and has a very nice view.
The camp is near the Burdah roc bridge.
Near the camp you can walk and enjoy the view, it is like a mediation near all the rocks and sand the different colors, specially when the sun rises.

-No wifi that make your trip perfect as you can enjoy the nature wonders eveywhere.
Only in Wadi Rum village you have wifi- Digital detox  was perfect for us.

Accomodation
We were 3 and had a tents altogether, we had 2 blankets for each bed and Helayal provived us with more blankets in case you needed.
The tent was nice with a window view on the desert.
We took water bottle from home to heat it up for the night because it get really cold.
Make sure you take a big coat and pullover with you and warm socks.
Do not forget that in the desert can be cold and there is no heating.
The bathrooms are not in the tent but very close and on the way to the bathroom you can see many stars.:-)))
The bathroom are toally new renovated and clean.

Main tent for dinner
Every evening was a cozy fire for the guest to warm up and we enjoyed the food and the local traditions.

Tours
Full day tour, we saw many places we had a jeep and our personal guide with us.
Water and lunch was provided and made fresh in front of us.
The tour included Lawrence spring, lawrence House, red dune, Canyon, little Bridge , Burhdah Bridge, Mushroom and many other palces.
We also listen to tradtional music and drank a lot of Bedouin tea which is really good.
You can take the herb and tea home to cook.
During the tour you cannot get enough of the view and the scenery of the desert.

Full day tour hiking
Jabal umm ad dami
That is the hightest mountain of Jordan and you can see Saudi Arabia border from there, we had an hour jeep tour to the mountain and then climb up and down.
You need to be fit and have good sneakers and water with you or better hiking shoes.
The view is amazing on the top and we were almost the only people there on the top.

Summary
In case you love nature and like mediation in the nature go to Wadi rum and this camp.
They will provide you with everything what you want to see in the desert, we felt like home and after 2 nights we were sad to leave!!!!
We were a group of three german girls and we had an amazing time and we want to go back to the camp soon, inchallah.

Shurkan to Helayel and this crew 2x Ahmed, we enjoyed every day ,every hour and we take all the energy we go back home to Germany.

Wadi Rum was such a good experience. Now I got a fantastic insight into the Beduin life.

If you want to discover the desert and the bedouin lifestyle I recommend you to have a stay in this amazing camp where the atmosphere is so beautiful. People were very pleasant, helpfull and friendly. The place is clean, well structured.

An amazing experience in amazing camp

I advise this camp 100%. Everything is wonderful. Upon arrival, we were welcomed and invited to our host for drinking a tea. We went for a camel ride. Then we made a jeep tour more or less 4 hours where we discovered the most sumptuous corners of Wadi Rum. We were introduced to the camp, which I think is the best camp I've seen on the way. Everyone is friendly and takes care of everything from A to Z. We also witnessed the sunset at the top of a small mountain : an exceptional moment. The meals (morning, afternoon and evening) are typical and delicious. The music, atmosphere and setting makes us live a typical day of a Bedouin.

An exceptional day

We visited this camp for two days. Staff very friendly since we started the experience. They organized the tours for us. We slept under the stars, walked to Burdha Bridge, climbed to Um Ad Dami top of the mountain and much more. Friendly staff and delicious food. Amazing and real Bedouin experience!! Don't hesitate if you want enjoy!! Trust me!!

If you go to Wadi Rum don't hesitate...you must go to this camp!!

We stayed in Wadi Rum for two nights and did an all day desert experience with Ra'ad. He cooked us a delicious Bedouin lunch in a quiet spot after taking us around some notable spots. The landscape is stunning and to say that the people were friendly and accommodating would be to understate the matter. 
After our lift away was delayed, our host took us to his personal house in the village to await the driver. You can't help but feel utterly disarmed by kindness. 
An experience that is absolutely not to be missed.
