The hotel is in a great location with  superstore Magsum right across the street opening until 11pm. Also it is close to all major attractions 

The room is great and the bed is comfortable. Just sometimes the water in the shower can get hot or cold suddenly when you gently touch the faucet handle. However, it is no big deal.  

Front desk staffs are great. They are polite and well trained as well as super efficient. Room cleaning is also good.

The breakfast is delicious with a lot of options. 

Overall it is a great hotel and I will stay here again if I return to Almaty next time, for which I will.

Great staffs and Location.

Convenient for the train station, nice property and comfortable rooms. Staff were particularly helpful and spoke some English. Breakfast was decent enough. 

Not too many restaurant options around, but a couple of small supermarkets and bakey/cafe. Some street noise for rooms facing the road.

Decent, comfortable hotel near the train station

At best a three star hotel with poor service. 
We checked into a dlx junior suite which we booked more than a month back . For the category of room the view of the car park is very sad . Least expected . 
To top it the bathroom door does not close and the automatic curtains are defective allowing the light to filter through . I had a problem sleeping last night and now cannot take a nap as the afternoon sun shines into the room. I have informed the reception twice . Very poor response. 
Extremely poor breakfast . Will advise not to book this hotel . Very poor value for money

Poor three star hotel

This property is new n n the city area next to all the restaurants n shops in almaty the  deluxe rooms n suite rooms r good the normal rooms r very small. Everything is good the view n air conditioning. The only problem is the breakfast it’s very bad . They don’t have sliced bread 🍞 can u imagine a 3/4 star hotel ??? . The manager at the breakfast table is the grumpy man . He doesn’t smile at all . The breakfast spread needs to be changed ASAP. Everything is the same n Every thing is cold . U have international guests so u need to have a very good breakfast.

Good hotel

Relatively new hotel located in central area of Almaty (can walk around to the majority of what there is to do in Almaty). We picked this hotel mostly because of the location and the feedbacks of previous customers.
We were able to check in early (for additional 50% of the room rate), which we didn't mind paying as we came from a tiring flight and wanted to take a nap.
The front-desk folks were nice and friendly, and the check-in went smooth.
The room was sparkling clean and reasonably sized, with comfy bed, fully stocked tea/coffee station, complementary water as well as amazingly stocked bathroom (they even had individually wrapped hair combs there).
Overall, we had a comfortable stay.

There were two major sources of disappointment:
1. The AC had its own life and it was hard to make it work, which was a downside.
2. The breakfast was not the best, to be honest - selection of food was not ideal, it was one of those cases where there were many things on offer, but you would really eat only a few of them. Lacking good quality pastries, coffee was outright rubbish.

Good hotel with not-so-good breakfast

In rainy March 2024, I visited Almaty with my spouse for a business trip. We planned to combine our trip with sightseeing and sought a cozy hotel to stay for a few days. I found one through online reviews, which proved to be reliable. The hotel was clean, the rooms were fresh, and I was impressed by their customer service and courteous staff!

I recommend!

Extended my stay 3 times as it is the best value for money in this area.

The best value for money in this area

Very nice and cozy hotel in the center of the city. Easily accessible. Recommended for stay during short visits. Breakfast is very good with great spread. Clean rooms. Stayed for 1 night only. No complains as such. Traffic in the city during peak hours is an issue at times.

Nice stay, good breakfast

Resident City Hotel is coozy and warm and welcoming hotel, yet it goes easy on your pocket..this was my 1st trip to AlMaty and I recomend it for budget yet a class hotel and don’t forget the staff..Ms. Perizat really thank you soo much, you made the 1st impression worth it.

A class and coozy

I had a stop over in Almaty was checking the hotels very long time. Stopped at Resident city Hotel, when i arrived Reception guy helped me with the luggage and opened the door with the warm and hospitable face. I got a room very comfortable and nice night view. Couldn`t have a breakfast due to was almost late to my flight and Rustem at the desk prepared for me take away coffee and some snacks. So thoughtful of him. Thank you so much will be definitely back to you guys if i will have a chance to come back to Almaty.
