Basecamp Eagle View

Wonderful place where we felt most welcome and at home. Very polite and engaging staff. Beautiful view and good game drives where we came very close to the lions and the cheetahs. So nice to sit by the fire at night after a very nice dinner. Clearly recommend this Camp.

Excellent camp

The lounge has a stunning view of the savannah. Very beautifully furnished. Only 9 tents, small but well equipped with incredible view. From the tent terrace you can see all the animals (girafes, zebras, elephants, antelopes..). Food is good, staff is nice.
Safaris were somewhat less fantastic than in Mara North, but you can see a lot of lions though.

Beautiful lounge view

We spent 2 nights at Eagle View as part of our recent safari. The camp is fantastic, with incredible views, comfortable and luxurious tents, and friendly and attentive staff. Our driver, Esme, knew the conservancy area well, resulting in us seeing lots - including the illusive leopard and cub!

Can’t wait to go back

A fantastic stay at Eagle View with wonderful views  over the plains and waterhole from the lodge and your own private tent. From Elephants to Giraffes to Lions it’s all viewable from the escarpment location. 

Being within the Naboisho Conservancy when on a game drive  your seeing lions etc without the crowds of tourist vehicles  of the National Reserve.  The experience of viewing animals that are less stressed with the much smaller number of visitors in the conservancy made it a much greater experience than my past travel to the National Reserve.

The Tents are fabulous, they are so comfortable and with your own balcony you have your own private viewing location of the animals on the plain. 

All the staff are lovely and the safari guides superb. The food was innovative and delicious and it was terrific to see local people who have gained skills through the training they have received.

Perfect location with wonderful views

First time on safari and it exceeded our expectations. The staff, our guides, everyone was so friendly and hospitable. The tent was comfortable and nothing to complain about at all. The meals were delicious and always plenty of food. We did not go hungry at all. 
Lovely view overlooking the salt lick, was more than happy to sit and wait and watch the animals. 
One disappointment was the cost of the drinks when we checked out.  We had not seen a price list or even asked for a drinks menu, assuming pricing would be reasonable. However to charge 9000 for 4 beers and 5000 for 5 bottles of Coca Cola is robbery.  We never paid those prices again or even close to those prices anywhere else in Kenya!
Despite that we would 100% love to come back to Eagle View one day, it was the best few days.

Stunning and great service

Eagle View is absolutely stunning.  The staff are incredible and simply can't do enough to help. Alfred, Moses and Dixon, to name but a few were so attentive, always smiling and treated the guests like kings and queens. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble.  The rooms are spotless. Shampoo, body wash, conditioner, hand soap, insect repellent, bug spray and hand sanitiser were all available in the room. Every evening bed's were turned down, with a hot water bottle in the bed to ensure a cosy night's sleep.  The game drives were fantastic. The knowledge of the driver and his assistant were astounding. They were incredibly informative.  Thank you for a memorable stay. If I had to choose between Eagle View and Leopard Hill, it would be Eagle view for the atmosphere.  The food and rooms were slightly better at Leopard Hill but we felt more at home at Eagle View

Perfect location & perfect stay

When you arrive at Eagle View you walk a short path to the reception area and then, just in front of you, opens out the most astonishing view across the conservancy with a huge variety of wildlife. In our case a huge male elephant was ambling across the middle, surrounded by zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, and much more. The views are the similar from the tents. You can watch ample wildlife without setting foot in a vehicle. Along with really friendly staff, excellent guides it is a wonderful place for a safari. We can recommend the walking safari accompanied by three Maasai people with spears (and a ranger with a gun), but the hyena we encountered just ambled off as we approached and the protection wasn't needed. We also loved the Basecamp organisation with its approach to sustainable tourism and support for local people.

Terrific location for a safari

My husband and I spent five days total at Eagle View and Leopard Hill, and we could not have asked for a better experience. When we arrived at Eagle View, we were immediately met with the most stunning panoramic view of the savannah, with giraffes and zebras grazing nearby and birds resting in the trees all around us; we could have sat and watched it all day. The Eagle View staff was incredibly gracious and attentive to our needs, including our dietary preferences and the activities we were interested in. The food was absolutely delicious as well, including creative soups, homemade bread, your choice of meat or vegetarian main course, and desserts made from scratch. Our tent was beautiful, spacious and clean. We loved the outdoor shower, and we appreciated that everything is run on solar power. Last but not least, our amazing guides, Edward and Dickson, made our trip truly special from the minute they picked us up at the airstrip. They are kind, funny, and so knowledgeable about all the plants and wildlife in Masai Mara. They encouraged us to ask questions, and we learned a lot by doing so. We loved every minute of our trip and would highly recommend that anyone visiting Masai Mara stay at Eagle View and Leopard Hill.

Amazing Time at Eagle View

The lodge is very well situated and has a beautiful view over a water point and a valley. You can see the animals coming from all sides, antelope, zebra, giraffe, elephant. It is really super pleasant between drives or at breakfast or lunch to be carried away by this view and nature. The tents are very nice, the spacious bathroom and even an outdoor shower in addition to the interior. The reception and corners to rest are very pleasant. The small staff, William the manager is really available and welcoming. The Stanley, Elizabeth, Alfred, staff, thank you for your kindness. Then the safaris, top! We saw everything, if David was in my breasts (and there were no outdoor shower elements in addition to the interior), the lodge and the corners to rest are very pleasant.

Great view, top game drives!

We have been to Eagle View a few times and love the camp and staff so much! Nash who was our driver both times is a lovely, dedicated woman with so much experience and knowledge that we enjoyed her drives very much. The only downside I found at the camp is the food. The cook, who CAN make good food, has some disconnect with how he instructs the food presentation, and possibly some loss in translation. They had a lovely homemade musli/granola the first time we were there, but not this round. Understandably ingredients vary by availability. Think this camp could live up to their Leopard Hill camp's reputation if they just have a round with the chef. Cleanliness of tents was undisputedly excellent, but the sofas and throw pillows could use a wash. I was glad to find they put some mattress toppers on the beds as my bed last time was much too hard. All in all, I would highly recommend this camp - even over some of the more luxury camps because it is so authentic in experience, small, quiet, less touristy, lots of animals, and enough comforts to make it a really great value!
