I have been on holiday at many lovely hotels and resorts around the world. Thailand x 6, Dominican Republic x 2, Barbados, Ecuador, California, Florida x 4, Tokyo and most countries around the Mediterranean several times. Fantastic places where every effort has been made to ensure that guests enjoy their holiday!

But now we have arrived at Kinondo Kweto on the Kenyan coast and it is better than anything I have experienced before!

Don't really know where to start but let's start by describing how incredibly friendly and helpful the staff are! In how many hotels around the world do all the staff know your first name from day 1? Everyone is so professional and knowledgeable and helps with excursions, planning snorkeling, talking about the dishes and spices, telling about nature, animals and the neighborhood. Everyone does this with a genuine great interest, which is absolutely magical!

All rooms are unique and wonderfully decorated with beautiful native details in a very tasteful way. Everything is top class, without being flashy, and everything is very clean and fresh.

The area is also unique. On a chalk-white beach with a fantastic view of the Indian Ocean, there are several houses that all have their own special charm and sizes. Some live in their own villa, others in a room with their own balcony or terrace. The residences are connected by cute little sandy paths that wind between palm trees, flowers, sunbeds and lawns and it never takes more than 1 minute to get where you need to go. Small monkeys play in the trees in the area and sometimes they come down to greet you out of curiosity. Super awesome!

In the area there is a well-maintained tennis court (we have played every day), 2 swimming pools, 1 wood-fired sauna which we use frequently, gym, yoga studio and massage. There are plenty of sunbeds and there is never a fight over them as there can be in some other hotels. Everyone gets at least one each and right next to the water. Kayaks, SUP boards, snorkel equipment, tennis equipment, board games and much more are available to borrow for free and all were of a very high standard. There is also a stable in the area with 4 horses that you could ride in the sunrise on the beach.

The food... it also gets 5 bright shining stars! We booked (as I think most of the guests have done) the "all inclusive" concept which means that every lunch and dinner are served 3-course menus. Always a fresh starter, usually fresh fish or seafood with vegetables for the main course and a tasty home-made dessert. Everything fabulously good! Very local ingredients, prepared with enormous finesse and feeling for flavors and presentation. Wine, beer and drinks are also included in the package.

An impressive detail regarding the meals is that you are assigned to new places in the area at each lunch and dinner. On the beach, in a cute wooden boat thrown up on the beach, a balcony, the garden, the observation tower, yes every time a new place! Before each meal, a waiter announces where to go, and there another waiter waits with a set table and presents the dishes in a knowledgeable and interesting way. We love this "system"! Feels like a new restaurant for every meal! Someone has really put some thought into this and there must be quite a lot of planning behind this arrangement that works flawlessly every meal!

The friendly staff at the reception help diligently with everything you wish for. Taxis, transport, offshore reef excursions, fishing, safari, waterfall bathing, shopping trips, horse riding, tennis, camel riding, sailing. Anything you want to do, they do!

We have been at Kinondo Kweto for a week but it feels like 1 month. We have experienced so many magical adventures that we will never forget, seen so many beautiful things (including free-living elephants) and ate gourmet food every day! It will be a total shock to come back to gray rainy Sweden after this week.

A big thank you to Ida, Filip, Anna, Didi, Dixon, Oscar and everyone else who works at Kinondo Kweto who made our 20th anniversary such an incredibly nice memory! This was by far our best vacation ever! We will be back soon!

If anyone is looking for paradise, you've come to the right place!

We could not have found a more perfect spot. An unspoilt paradise and a chance for our family to relax, unwind and enjoy a very happy week together. The Kinondo Kwetu team go above and beyond at every opportunity and are so kind and thoughtful. The food is also absolutely exquisite!

Lovely place to finish our trip to Kenya.  A  warm welcome from Anna, Didi and Staff all very friendly and helpful.  Food was amazing, we stayed for 4 days and every meal was as delicious as the last.  Huge pool and lovely beach with bandas overlooking the sea

Relax after Kenyan safari

We can not add a lot more than the other reviews. Barefoot luxury that makes you relax the minute you walk in. Excellent staff and service that make sure your stay is a memorable one. Anna, Didi and the staff did a great job and we would like to recommend it to everyone.

Barefoot excellence

Divine barefoot luxury. Nothing us too much trouble with the exceptional staff. The beach is wonderfully private and relaxing  with no beach boys hassling you. Stunning location with plenty of areas for relaxing. The breakfast was plentiful and all the lovely meals were served in different locations on the beach or lodges. The yoga area was idyllic and swimming in  the warm ocean perfect. There us plenty of trees for shade and beach beds and comfy chairs around the grounds. The monkeys were sweet and kept an eye on by the security staff! We had no mosquito bites even though we were eating in the sand at night. Padi tuition was a bonus and very professional.

As with all other reviews my offer is the same. A superbly run hotel, led by Anna and Didi who both went beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Lots to do if you want it, nothing to do if you don't, laze around on the beach or next to one of the pools, maybe with a little drink or two, or find a nice private place to reflect on just how lucky you are. If you fancy being a bit energetic you have loads of options, we chose a snorkelling  trip over to the sand islands and my wife and daughter loved the beach horse riding. All the staff were top rate, very helpful and always offered a smile which reflects again on the management. Our cottages were again *perfect* very well kept and in ideal positions, the beds were quite high but there is a stool provided to get in and out the bed, (why I mentioned that is a mystery to me). So all in all my wife, my daughter and I had a very enjoyable, restful ten days at this wonderfully run boutique hideaway.

Perfect

A quiet resort south of Diani. The cottages sit under a canopy of trees and are spacious and comfortable. The food will keep you on the resort. There is enough private beach for a 30 minute walk without interruption by anyone selling wares. Service was superb: courteous, prompt, and organized. An idyllic setting, we will be returning.

We will come back

We stayed three nights at the resort after being on safaris for eight days. Wonderful place to relax and enjoy the ocean. The staff were so nice and helpful with anything you needed. Food was first class! Our room was on the second floor with a ocean view. We had sundowners in the water tower on our last night. Would definitely go back to this resort.

Beautiful place

This was an amazing experience. 

Our own piece of the Indian Ocean was spectacular The grounds, rooms and facilities are all fabulous. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. 

Anna was a superb host and took time every day to talk to all of her guests. 

The training of her staff was absolutely first class and the food, all I can say is Wow! 

We will most definitely be returning.

Paradise

We cannot say enough about the warmth of this place.  The accommodation was perfectly nice, but it really was the people that added the magic.  The general feeling is natural and in keeping with Kenyan design but without being at all shabby.  The meals were incredible and we absolutely loved spending time on the white sand beach with ever changing waves and tides.  Not the easiest place to swim in the sea as there is a reef and the waves pick up but a marvellous place to sit and forget the rest of the world.  Anna was super welcoming and all the staff made us feel like returning as soon as possible.  We will never forget moonlight horse rides, cantering on an empty beach.  During the day the horses canter and then wade in the sea.  There are walking rides too.  We played tennis most days and the slack line on the beach, between the palm trees was a huge hit!  Loved the monkeys and would definitey recommend the exercise classes and yoga...such a beautiful setting and totally unpretentious.
