Sorry to give a bad review but my room was dark, dirty and smelled bad. The water would not drain away in the wet room shower, leaving a pool of water in the bathroom and the smell was very bad. 

I only paid 400 Baht though as I just wanted a place to rest overnight. The more expensive rooms are likely much better.

One concern is that I found someone else's medicine in my bed in the morning when I was checking for items I left, so I'm a bit concerned that maybe the sheets weren't changed from the last guest..but I'm hopefully completely wrong about that.

The walls are very thin and the doors heavy. I could hear what the next room was saying and they were in and out of the room constantly, banging the door each time (not the hotel fault, but if the building wasn't so old, it wouldn't be so noisy).

It does have off-street parking though (but not covered), which put my mind at ease about parking my bike. 

Dark and smelly room (sorry to say, but true) :(

Ok place. The only good thing is the location (very central) and the seating area. Room wasn’t great. Air conditioning didn’t work in our room and plug hole for shower was so blocked from previous guests hair and gunk that the whole bathroom flooded. Overall was ok and very very affordable

Ok guesthouse/hotel

The rooms were clean and the aircon worked. The guest house is quite pretty. If you like late night parties, cigarette buts everywhere, dismissive staff and a dirty communal kitchen, this is the place for you! They were very busy and may still be recovering from the Covid lockdown but we found a more suitable place for our needs a short walk up the road.

Clean but not our style.

I was working remotely while in Luang Namtha and, after checking out a few places, found that this was the most comfortable. The room was clean and had good internet. The hotel is on the main street and right near tour agencies, the nigh market, etc.

Centrally located and comfortable

There are cheaper places next door or nearby but I have no complaint with this place. Room is clean and spacious while free coffee and tea are provided in a open hall equipped with cold/hot water dispenser.
What you paid is what you got.

Centrally located and clean

It is a very good acomodation in relation with the qualitie and the money you pay. One doble room is 80000 kibs and the beds where confortable, good toilet and very good and friendly stuff. They clean the room diary. You also have a kitchen there where you can cook by your self and they provide you water to fill up your own bottle in order not to use so many plastic bottles.

For sure I recomend this place. We stayed for 7 nights

Very recommended place

Centrally located near the night market. The rooms are clean, quite large and they have wifi, bathroom and warm (not hot) water. The hotel has a open hall where you can cook your own food and have hot water for coffee and tea. The staff is very kind. Be sure to have your receipt of payment when you pay youir room because it may happens that at the shift the receptionist forget to say who have payed and who didn't yet.

Clean and nice

Great value for money. Right in the centre of town. Agencies on the doorstep, market across the road. Our Deluxe room was a good size, simple but for around $20 excellent.
Laundry facility. Free kitchen area for those wanting to use it.
Wifi was poor in our room. (The room was at a far corner of the building. Signal was okay sitting on terrace outside of the room).
Personally I would go for breakfast in the Bamboo Lounge across the road rather the the restaurant the hotel uses.... they give you a voucher to go their choice of local restaurant if you book b&b).

Great value for money. Can't fault it for the price.

My wife and I had a really nice time staying here for 2 before and 3 nights after trekking with Green Discovery (see my separate review). 

We stayed in the superior double room which was really clean and had everything that they promised (piping hot water, coffee and tea making facilities provided in the room, nice double bed, a/c). We also used their laundry facility twice and it worked absolutely fine. 

Although I had one very minor quibble with the room - a rather old (but very clean) bathtub - you have to remember that you are in rural Laos and adjust your expectations. 

Finally the service here was super friendly - I want to particularly recognize Oun (not sure I spelled that right) for his fantastic and helpful attitude and information. 

5 stars for friendliness and cleanliness 

Thoulasith guesthouse has a lot of rooms, we personally did not notice a big difference in the "new and old" buildings. Make sure you tell the receptionist you booked with ac, otherwise they might try to put you in another cheaper room. The kitchen is free to use and you can fill your bottles for free. The shower in our room was terrible,it took forever to get hot water and it only gave a very small amount of water in general.
