The place is really lovely and nice service, also their workers are well mannered.their rooms are large,up to modern standar, constant electricity, delicious restaurant and a lively bar to chill at night.

My visit

As I stayed in the guest house / hotel last two years for several months, I would say this location is a good place to live in for a long or short term of your business in Savanakhet because it is located in the middle of the town that could be suitable for you to go and come from your workplace. The hotel has a large space with roof for car park with comfortable car turning coming and going out; it is also surrounded by restaurants, bars, shops, supermarket , bus station, and airport that make you comfort all the time.


Good Place to Stay

The four-bedroom and bathroom are Borgne! The room is located next to the reception at the bottom of the stairs which serves the floor There is a smell coming from the bathroom that perfumes the room I'll give you the details 👌 The hotel and running because on the door it is indicated to close the door because of the short smell not really recommended for family or for 1 night because it remains affordable price question and 25 minutes from the airport for breakfast it is in buffet and you can eat in the room or on the terrace if there is space... then at the Parisian bakery on the street corner!

The smell of the bathroom scents the room.

The rooms and service were good, the staff were very friendly, the hotel is very close to the city centre and the night market.

This was an average place but I guess for USD25, one can't complain too much. 
The room we were shown smelled of smoke (as do lots of rooms in Laos) but after leaving the door open for a while it got better. Yes, we did ask for a different room, but suffice it to say things weren't any better. We'd looked at some other places in town as well and this did seem like the best overall option.
The room had definitely seen better days, but linens and bathroom were clean. Room and bathroom were quite spacious. A/C.
We were told there was wifi in the room (we always ask about 'in the room' specifically) but there wasn't. I prefer to be told, then I know. 
Breakfast was mediocre, and that is being kind. And in a country where they produce very nice coffee the 'brew' I was served with breakfast was a disgrace.

About the staff: Saying they were not helpful or disinterested is being kind..... I'll leave it at that.

I stayed at the Phonepaseud Hotel for one night on a business trip based on a colleagues recommendation. It was about as expected - mediocre with a few redeeming qualities. I probably will look for somewhere else closer to the center of town during my next visit however.

Good:
*Wi-fi is quick and works
*close to the airport
*Fairly cheap for a mid-range hotel in Laos

Bad:
*The location is a good long walk from anywhere you would want to go
*Breakfast options were very limited
*Noisy package tours of Thai tourists

Mediocre but acceptable for the price

We stayed at this hotel for only one night, booking the VIP room for $30 with breakfast (suggested by L.P. who described this hotel as the best in the city).The hotel, (but I'd rather say a motel), is far from the center of town, with nothing around.The rooms are big but it's the only good thing.They're very dirty, we found old beer cans under the bed, while dirt cans are all over the corners and behind the beds.My daughter thinks she saw a mouse in the room, but I hope it was just a geki walking on a visa.The crash was normal.The hotel didn't accept payment in tuk tuk (although booking.com guaranteed the break) and had to pay cash.

Very dirty.

When we arrive, we are offered the VIP room (to pronounce very quickly to lie less long!) at 110,000 kip. When we settle, it is no longer the same person at the reception and, no, no, the price is 125,000 kip/day. There is no way to find the first person we meet, of course! so, in the end, 30,000 kip (+/- 30 euros) of difference,...to enjoy in moderation, right? Absolutely purple room, with a freezer out of service and full of mushrooms, not hallucinogenic! No breakfast, but it's better, no doubt!

Pay attention to the price!

We spent only one night there in transit in savannakhet. It does the job to sleep but definitely too expansive for the service. 30 dollars for room with AC and TV but decoration like a grand mother house! Located quite far from city center. Breakfast ok. Staff quite cold.

Functional hotel, not more

I, my wife, her mother and her brother with girlfriend stayed for one night at the Phonepaseud Hotel in Savannakhet, Laos in April 2013 and were confused by the stay to say the least.

Why the confusion?
1. The rooms / bungalows we stayed in were furnished with really expensive solid wood furniture and wall panels. But then they had put in a completely tasteless kitchen sink unit made from cheap materials. Why?
2. The bathroom was really big and fitted with exclusive appliances such as a big European style toilet, a huge bathtub and a good quality sink. But there was an ant freeway across the wall, no shower head and a shower hose so short you had to sit down in the bathtub to use it, the bathtub outlet was connected to…. nothing (so the water ran out on the floor, yikes!), the toilet seat was broken and tried to escape for freedom as soon as you sat on it, there was no shower curtain so the water from the worlds shortest shower hose sprayed all over the bathroom, the shower handle was AWOL so I could not chose if I wanted to take a bath instead of a shower. Why?
3. The TV had about 40 channels, including CNN, but virtually none had good picture quality. I felt like I was sitting in a snow storm every time I watched the news. Why?
4. Also the owner was building a new three-storey hotel right behind the office. But he couldn´t be bothered keeping up maintenance on the rest of the hotel first. Why?
5. The owner, who was very nice, lived in a new really exclusive villa across the road and had a new Mercedes and I watched him water his plants and cleaning and tidying up outside his house. The rooms in the hotel were not maintained or very clean though. Why?

I have seen this so many times in Thailand and now in Laos too. They build an exclusive hotel and then just ignore the fact that you need to keep up and maintain the building. Why?

It is just sad, because the Phonepaseud Hotel have nice staff and is actually a gem hidden under a thick layer of dust!
