We were reluctant to stay at a Nana’s Hostel given what happened to the poor girl at Nana’s in Vang Vieng however we thought it’s a different place and we thought we’d give it a chance. Immediately we realised that we were mistaken as the hostel is full of men twice the age of your average backpacker creating a horrible and creepy vibe. Bathrooms stank, room stank. They changed the sheets on my bed but left the drinking glasses from the previous guest. Booked a tour through the hostel and QUADRUPLE checked that we would be able to reserve/choose our seats - they simply lied to us to get us to book the tour. Worth spending extra money on a nicer hostel. There is a reason why they offer free whisky and vodka and it’s not a good one. We stayed one night and that was one night too many.

DONT STAY HERE

This hostel is right in the middle of the action.  Temples abound around the property, with one right in front of it.  Restaurants, bars, spas are just everywhere nearby.  The famed Mekong River as well as the night market are both just less than 5 minute walk.  Location-wise, this is excellent.
Check-in process was seamless, staff are courteous and very helpful to assist. The place is relatively clean, and can see staff cleaning rooms as well as toilets on daily basis.
Surprised to see the improvements made by the management of this hostel.  The beds have been replaced with new ones since the last time I was here (summer 2018).  Was told by the owner that this was in response to all the feedback he got for his hostel.  I sincerely believe he and his staff are doing all things possible to make this as homey as possible for all travelers.  

Over-all, you get your money's worth.  Will keep coming back here whenever I am in Vientiane.

Value for money!

We stayed for only a night and an in a private room. The towels and bed sheets were dirty. The guy in the front desk was not nice either. Its seems they do not care about who is staying at their hostel. Would not recommend it! 

Dirty and unfriendly staff 

We stayed in the dorm for one night and at 1 am one of the staff came into the room, turned on the light, was yelling and even took off someone's blanket to check the number of the bed she was staying in. Slammed the door and came back two minutes after doing the same thing. In over 2 years of traveling, have never experienced this, ever. When confronting them the next morning, they didn't take any responsibility and said they were just checking people in. Staff is extremely rude and unhelpful, and are sleeping everywhere, even in the beds without changing the sheets. The hygiene is horrible, there's mold, rats, and mosquitos everywhere.

The service is really bad, sometimes no one is there. Only one speaks english. Staff sleeps all the time, also in the guests beds, and do not change sheets after. 
There is bedbucks, mouses and rats. My friends backpack got ruined by a rat. It ate its way through her back, ate her charger and more + it pooped in her bag aswell. And he didn’t take responsibility. 
Its really cheap, but not worth the money. There is so many other places close by - there are so much more nice!

Worst stay ever

We didn’t sleep in this place, but we came in to ask for a bus transport to the other city. The guy who was sitting in the “reception” was looking at his phone and answered our questions without a look on us. When we asked about some details he muttered something indistinctly in English and got angry when we asked him to repeat. We didn’t decide yet if we want to buy the ticket, but he had already prepared it and asked about the name of our hotel. He was rude and impolite. I don’t recommend this services neither the place to stay. Awful.
