I had such high hopes when trying to book this resort. First of all I should have realized that this would be a disaster when the booking specialist Tatiana was barely responding, she offered me dates for a two week stay. I inquired about the total price and the accomosations for 3 adults. She would respond days later only to calculate two adults and a small child. The frustration started to build when I had to keep repeating that there is no small child.

By the time she gave me prices which was still not clear because there was no clear number it was this price till this day and this price for this day. But there is also supposed to be a discount for 3rd person but no information on how much.

Anyways we ended up asking one of our friends to drive from Riga and book on the spot. He also spend about an hour there because they wouldn’t give him a clear breakdown of price. They ended up giving him a luxury suite with two rooms. Which we agreed to since
Apparently all the regular rooms have sold out by then. So they calculated 3,000euro and he left a 300euro deposit. 

Three weeks later we had flown from New York and were checking in. I got suspicious when they got their calculators out and started counting something aggressively. They then told me that I have to pay 3300euro. My confusion was that there is a total on my contract and this is much greater then the total and there was also a deposit. Lucia the lady at the front desk proceeded to tell us that the reservationists didn’t calculate it correctly and it’s actually much more. And if we don’t pay it will be taken out of her salary and she won’t get paid. 

Honestly at that point it was overwhelming and we started getting upset. So the person who’s whole job is to calculate and reserve can’t count and we are at fault. 

Since we already flew across the world we decided to stay for 10 days instead of 14 and miraculously they found 3 standard rooms for half the price. 

After staying at the sanatoriy I can say that the best part was the light food, mineral water pool, and proximity to the beach. The rest the doctors, procedures, and the extremely hot rooms without AC or fans were nothing to write home about.

For the prices they charge the customer service should be fantastic and this is more like Soviet Union regime.

Not such a relaxing vacation after all

1. Several storeys of the main building were recently renovated, that is why I recommend to book room in these renovated rooms (which is a must), so as not renovated rooms are  looking very good (old furniture, sanitary ware).
2. Resort has excellent amenities- pool with mineral water, plenty of medical procedures, place for morning' s gymnastics, good restaurant with dietary food and food a la carte, if that food in menu is not chosen.

Very good resort with good amenities to relax

Went on a ”relaxing” vacation with mother. Rooms are good, food suprisingly good. But personell- TERRIBLE. Absolutely horrific!! When you are a PAYING client and the service personell treats you really bad! Example 1. Asked for a fresh pressed cellery juice (which you pay additionally for) I asked for them to leave out parsley and lemon from the juice as it is offerend on the drink menu, as my stomach doesn’t digest it. The lady at the bar says extremely impolitely and unprofessionally that ”she will not make it” as I asked. Well considering that the previous day the other lady had no problem with leaving out the parsley and lemon, I can not digest, this was a big surprise to me, as well as it is also as ”health” resort and I am paying extra. She then repeatedly says NO to me when I try to explain the situation. I had no other option that to rest the case. 
Example 2. The ladies that assist the ”procedures” work as they hate their job, their clients, the world. They even scream at you when you kindly ask them to lower down the inhalation machine as you can’t breathe properly. I didn’t even touch anything and she started screaming. Really unprofessional, really rude, horrible, disquisting personel! Feels like you are in a Soviet military camp instead of a relaxing sanatorium.
