I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The room was clean and spacy, but halfway empty with very little furniture. An empty fridge, no complimentary water, no kettle or hair dryer. The food selection at breakfast was  sufficient, but not overwhelming.

Clean, but very basic

     Not sure why there are so many negative reviews of this place. I found the service friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable with a great view, the water was piping hot, the breakfast buffet included an omelette in addition to tomatoes, cucumbers, bread, croissants, cheese, meats, juice, coffee, and bananas, the WiFi was fast and the location was pretty good.
   If I was disappointed in anything, it was that you have to cross the highway to get to the archaeological site, but not going to fault them for that.
    I’d recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Great Place

I had just finished my breakfast and they were preparing the buffet for coffee break.. 
Since the breakfast menu is not that impressive , i asked the manager to take a banana from the coffee break buffet and he said no..  He even insisted on his "no" that i felt kinda embarrassed and it was literally ONE BANANA :D
He really needs to know a thing or 2 about customer service and extra banana;  i mean extra mile ...

Other than that everything was ok but again the breakfast not impressive!

This hotel is so so so poor
1-customer service is so so poor
2-the room is so poor 
3-the internet not stable
4-the hot water in the bath not present after 12am
5-the key of room is not magnetic and you must use the key to close the door
6-there is no cattle to drink coffee and if u need coffee from the room service it is so expensive 
7-the furniture is so so old
8-the rooms are not isolated well i.e i can hear the neighbors well
9-the only good thing in this hotel is beside the super market and old market and many restaurants 

Poor hotel

Byblos is the most fascinating place to explore and the people there are very friendly!  However, we found the Reception staff at this hotel to be anything but professional.  Alas! this meant that I could not recommend this place to stay.
1. Manager expressed his frustration with me when I needed help with the room security box. 2. Reception could not show me where to locate the hotel on a map in my Lonely Planets guide - AND whatsmore, when I asked for a tourist map (their hotel facilities said they had them) I was told, "Sorry, we have no maps" THEN "Oh yes, we can find one - it will cost you $11"!!!!   (I then walked into old city centre tourism office and got one for FREE!  3. They couldn't (or wouldn't) give me any hotel letterhead writing paper so I could write a business letter (!!) - they said that it was against their hotel policy(!!). [I told them that most other places provide this freely in the rooms!]  4. They couldn't (or wouldn't) print a file from a USB and told us instead to send to them via email(!!) - but their wi-fi was unreliable and intermittent! ;-(  And perhaps the worst: 5.  We found our room had been left *unlocked* on TWO occasions, presumably by the hotel staff!  (We were NOT impressed)!!  6. Minor point: lack of attention to detail - the international clocks in the hotel lobby (showing times for New York, London, Paris, Beirut) were either not working or just not set correctly!!  This place really left a "sour taste" in my mouth!!!

Great location but Customer Service really, really poor!

The pluses of this place are very clear: Beautiful lobby, friendly helpful staff, reasonable rate, breakfast buffet,free wifi and spectacular views of the city and the sea from high floors. The downside: small sinks in bathroom with no counter space to put toiletries,glass shower panes that leak water onto bathroom floor and outdated room decor. But one can easily overlook these minor things. Overall a very pleasant experience. More attention to detail would earn this place top ratings.
