Stayed 2 nights at la Mira as the first stop on a 12 night wildlife tour of Madagascar. Beautiful relaxing location with rooms in small bungalows overlooking the bay where the many fisherman in their pirogues can be seen wizzing across the bay in the strong winds

Friendly helpful staff, a good choice of cuisine including delicious shellfish. Lovely verandah on the terrace  outside the room for yoga practice. Beautiful sunsets as you take a final dip in the pool beside the restaurant.

I unfortunately had a bad stomach upset after eating langoustines on the last night, but the langoustines were delicious! Thankfully it only lasted 24 hours, but made the onward journey interesting!

Lovely location overlooking the bay in Ifaty

Beautiful location right on the beach.  Good food and attentive staff. The rooms have their own terrace to sit out in the sun. Magical view of fishing boats sailing across the bay. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel as a place to stay.

direct at the ocean with a little beach. Very nice staff crew in the restaurant, fabulous cocktail drinks and good food with professional service. Nice bungalows with ocean view. Nice pool area and good massages have been offered; indeed a great location to stay more days

A great hotel with an excellent location. Various entertainment options are offered (eg tours, diving, snorkeling, massages). Varied and very tasty meals.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Personal treatment and care.
Evrything was perfect!!!

A great place to stay

We stayed here three nights as we were birding in the area. At first, we were just a bit disappointed as it is pretty basic. However, the staff and the comfort of the facility quickly changed those thoughts. The food here was amazing and my only complaint was that the servings were just too large. We started sharing the appetizer and not having dessert. 
The location is wonderful, the staff amazing and the internet pretty darn quick.

A surprising experience

Absolutely lovely hotel. The thing that I would highlight here is the staff - the people who own and run this hotel are the difference. We were made to feel welcome and wanted from the moment we arrived until the moment we left.

There are limitations to the hotel but they're related to the area not the hotel - the WiFi/mobile is very limited and the power supply can't withstand high current demands (no hairdryers).

But these were of little consequence when you were made to feel so welcome and looked after. A beautiful vista, a lovely clean beach, lovely clean rooms.

A wonderful experience

Rather average and adequate rooms, with a distressing amount of flies, and lacking in charm with functional bathrooms set in very pretty surroundings amidst masses of bougainvillea and huge butterflies and close to a wonderful beach where you can watch the fish coming in.  Bungalows were on two levels with the upper ones missing out on a sea view but closer down and beside the very nice pool there was a good view of the beach.  
Highly recommend the massage too in the little hut by the pool where for a very modest sum I had a superb massage whilst the sun set and with the waves crashing down outside.  
Restaurant food was lovely when it came but the service was terrible and mostly delivering the wrong thing but the lobster and chips was a winner and worth a every penny – in fact 2 lobsters on the plate!
The pool which was beside the restaurant was lovely most of the time and spotlessly clean tho sadly ruined at the weekend when despite the assurance that the pool was only open to residents, they appear to open up to anyone on a Sunday as long as they eat lunch and with no limit on the time.  We were joined by a a very large family with about 10 children who took over the entire pool area from lunchtime and stayed until sunset.  The parents simply left the children and for 6 hours the rest of us were unable to enjoy the pool at all.  Whilst I understand it is important revenue for the owners they need to limit the time so that the residents who are their primary source of income are not chased out as we were.  It was our last afternoon of our holiday and very disappointing.  
On the positive, the hotel had arranged for a truly outstanding song and dance troupe to visit and it was without a doubt one of the highlghts of my holiday.

Good option, clean and quiet - even if service is hit and miss

Resort located 10 km from Ifaty with a dozen bungalows overlooking the sea and there is also a swimming pool. In August the temperatures are around 27 but with the breeze so you are comfortable only in the sun and not very hot water. The bungalow is large, a beautiful bedroom with bay window overlooking the sea and a nice clean bathroom with sink, shower and separate toilet. Both the food and the satisfactory breakfast, we only stayed one night, but the price paid should be given more.

La Mira Clean Water

We spent two days here at the end of our Madagascar tour. Beautiful gardens with bougainvillea and lots of other flowers I don't know the names of. The rooms are large and clean and have 24hr electricity. The pool was sparkling clean and the beach was just a few steps away.
Our experience of the restaurant was as chaotic as other reviewers. The manage rreally needs to get a grip on this aspect. having said that, when the food did come it was of excellent quality.
My only other slight criticism is that when a place like this has constant electricity it would be an advantage to have a frig in the room.

Spectacular location

Loved this hotel, rooms with glorious views of the ocean and pool...fun watching the fishermen bring their catch onto the beach...rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the staff always pleasant, but sometimes seeed too busy. Only negative was that another group staying would claim the lounges at the pool and though not using them, got indignant when we moved their towels in order to use them ourselves , happened both days!
