This is certainly one of the better hotels we stayed in during our trip in Madagascar. The rooms are large, refurbished with little fridge and a nice bed. Also the bathroom was spacious and modern. The room and bathroom were meticulously clean. Furthermore the wifi was one of the better we had in Madagascar. Breakfast could have been a bit better, but in general really one of the most comfortable hotels we stayed in.

Very nice hotel with refurbished large rooms and good wifi

Clean rooms,spacious,hot water,good service, and a very scarce occurence in Madagascar - good pillows!
The food we had at the restaurant was easily the best we had while in Madagascar. A popular tourist option. Also quite close to the promenade and Shoprite for proper grocery shopping.

Great accommodation

There’s no doubt that I chose the right hotel, the sleeping quality is very good - which is the most important thing as far as choosing the hotel is concerned. The facilities are very good, room is clean and neat and spacious that you can dance inside. The ladies in reception are friendly and helpful, location is perfect...due to sleeping too comfortable I missed the breakfast so i have no idea about that...by the way, i especially want to say thanks sooo00 much to one beautiful lady named Toky

Big room, good bed, clean bathroom. Nice terras with WiFi. Overall very good hotel. Helpfull and friendly staff. Restaurant was quite good as well. Not a lot more you can tell apart from the fact that the city itself is not the nicest place to stay. 

Good hotel, central location

We stayed for one night passing through. Room was excellent with a fridge, safe, decent air con, balcony overlooking the street, comfy bed and large bathroom. 

Staff were very helpful in advising us on the taxi-brousse the next day. 

Nice little restaurant attached, good food at reasonable prices. 

Maybe a little pricey for Mada and no lift, but we would definitely stay again.

Comfortable room

Centrally located for visit of beach and city. Reasonable prices, breakfast available, firndly staff. the neighborhood was more or less safe for me, i even walked at night.
Nearby many restaurants, on the beach, shops, atm machine, travel agencies, telekom services.

Old style hotel with nice rooms

On the positive side, the hotel seems to be recently renovated. Well decorated, nice bed, good cleaning services, newer air conditioning.
On the negative side, although there are a lot of lights in the room and bathroom, all the lights are way too dimmed. Difficult to find something in the room at night, difficult to read in bed, difficult to shave in bathroom. They made me wait a few minutes at my arrival to get someone to show me my room, then there was no one and they sent me alone on my way. Had a problem with the safe at arrival, they gave me the master key, I was hoping someone would show me how it functioned, luckily it wasn't that hard to figure it out. Very few guests in the restaurant of Joffre, however a great restaurant nearby, La Terrasse, has delicious food and very reasonable pricing.

Good hotel but could be much better

The room was comfortable and the food is excellent. The staff are friendly and the setting is unique. There was a water problem, otherwise my stay was enjoyable.It is fairly noisy as it is situated in the centre of town, but access to all the shops and stores are in walking distance.
