Did a pit stop night here on the way up North, it happened to be a Saturday night, and we were welcomed to the little 'bar' downstairs where all the locals gather to drink beer and play darts. The room was clean and pleasant, as was the bathroom. I'll never forget this place cos of the people of Pulai... they were extremely generous and friendly. I felt like i was transported into a Twilight Zone what with the limestone caves decorated with lanterns and shaded seated area next to it. We also went into the cave to explore it and hang out for a tad. The coffeeshop serves local breakfast of pan mee, eggs, toast, coffee, etc.

The photos and description is far from the real deal. It is actually a no-frills budget inn, good for a night's pit stop if you have no where else to stay. We were fooled by the "tranquil" setting far from town when in fact we had "entertainment" from the neighbours who blasted karaoke until way past midnight! There seemed to be 2-3 places competing for who can sing the worst and loudest! The building is like a low cost flat. For RM60, you get a cheap mattress bed with child-sized blanket, air conditioning, basic bathroom with hot water shower and very poor sound insulation.

Misleading

On arriving there is no one to welcome you, so we trek to neighbour as our phone doesn't work and they phone Chaun the owner.
The room has to be the most basic we have ever rented, no tv, no fridge, no kettle, so be prepared, the pictures you see are misleading, the waterfall is 2 hrs away, there is one restaurant that we see open in Pulai, if you are westerner be prepared there are very limited people that speak or understand English, or understand your pronunciation of there language.
The activities are misleading as well, but Chaun did take us fishing, he stayed for 30  minutes, you most definately need a vehicle, or you are stranded.
I would not advise family with children to stay.
This is supposed to be quiet and tranquil, but when you have guests next door turning music on their phone and laughing between 12 and 3 am, it speaks for itself, as there is no one on site to police them.

All is not what it seems

If you looking for a secluded place, this place is definitely for you. The house located in a very small village named Kampung Pulai, 10km away from Gua Musang. There is only 2 of us staying in the house during our stay and the next nearest house is 200m away. There is a cave right beside the house, kinda eerie at night but nothing actually happened. The house is clean and with hot shower and air-condition. The place is good for relax, meditation or just be away from the busy life, read a book or two or come with bunch of friend and make your own night happening. Not much eateries nearby at night. The Swee Nyet Temple at Kampung Pulai is very beautiful and worth the whole trip.
