We booked for three nights but left after one - there were no staff either day we were there (a lady from the shop next door checked us in), there was no breakfast and both toilets were broken, with wet floors and leaking cisterns. The room was as expected for the price - basic, but fine - and the common area was pleasant enough, but the lack of staff prompted us to leave. An extra star because they gave us a refund for the second and third nights with no fuss.

Neglected (at the moment?)

The lodge seems to be in a transition. When we arrived, shopkeeper from downstairs gave us keys and toilet paper and then left us in this big beautiful house with just a paper on the reception saying "no staff today". Today stretched to 3 days, after which we left to a hostel where there's someone else as well. 

The lodge is beautiful in principle but has an abandoned feel to it. Our room had trash on the floor when we moved in and we ended up cleaning it ourselves. The pot plants were dying because nobody was taking care of them. Upstairs toilet wasn't very functioning either. The location is good for shopping but forget eating, here. This place could be 5 stars really easily - someone would just have to be there, say welcome and take care of things.

A really odd place!

Ok for the price but I really wouldn't want to spend more then one or two nights here. 

Bathroom was constantly soaking wet and the toilet didn't flush properly. 

Bed was acceptably comfortable but this is a very basic accommodation.

Welcome to Chinatown's basement. With all the moisture that comes with it. Moist walls, hollow floors that decompose in plain sight, not to mention the common areas (bathroom and ground floor toilets used by dorms) that do not lock and are filled with spider webs. As for bedrooms with simple beds, the sheets smell of moisture and are stained. You will be warned if you fall ill during your stay!

Positive points: - Clean room and common areas - Air conditioning - Enough toilets and showers - Very well located (on Main bazaar, not far from buses, taxis, banks and bars in the back street) - Calm (we had a room in the background) Negative points: - staff really lacked dynamism... it was almost a chore to go to the counter and we had difficulty understanding each other. - Light breakfast but all day long (cafe, tea, bread, butter, peanuts butter...) - rooms are more expensive on the spot than the internet... when we extended our stay, we had to book the night online, but without the counter, because the rooms were not lined up with windows - no furniture.

Clean and well located

We arrived at this guesthouse and we immediately felt very comfortable... The lobby is top, small low table with hens, sofa and TV. There is also a kitchen available! We chose to sleep in a dormitory for the price (20 RM/p) and discovering the dormitory, what a nice surprise :) Bedroom for only 3 people (but we were only two^^). Very clean, large and comfortable bed (a little humidity but nothing pleasant^^). A single shower and toilet on the ground floor which are quite narrow, it's better to go up to the lobby level where the showers and toilets are larger and more expensive!! The town is also very friendly and the small distillery is located in the centre (including the kitchen, kitchen and dining area) very well located on the Chinatown and the kitchen floor!!

I would recommend...

Great place, very well placed, very nice and helpful reception, zen atmosphere and nice decor of the main room. (very) brief room, our one without windows (but we knew it) and finally, it isolates a lot of street noise!!

I mean, cool.

An excellent address for backpacker and traveller of all kinds. A relaxed atmosphere with a large common room where you can have breakfast at any time of the day if you like. In addition you will find a kitchen if you want to make your own meal. A very nice, quiet and clean medium-sized room. Good quality bed. In case of a pb the staff is great and will find a solution. They will answer all your questions, help you to organize your trips or other. Very well located on the watter front, a few steps from the tourist office, restaurants and a large shopping center. Nothing to say after staying there 5 nights. A very good address as we love them!
