Amenities: * No lift, no pool, no breakfast. I had to carry my 35 kg suitcase myself up the staircase with 65 steps!!! Never again!

Negative:

1.) Small and old hotel. Looks gruesome from the outside.		

2.) No lift! I had to carry my 35 kg suitcase myself 65 steps up into the third floor. If you are unlucky, you may end up in the 4th or 5th floor.		

3.) Very small room and an unbelievably tiny bathroom- I think shower and toilet together were just 1 square metre!But you get what you pay- the room is cheap!		

4.) No breakfast!		

5.) 3 km / 1 hour walking distance to the harbour centre where the music is playing (were all the shops and restaurants etc. are...)
		

Positive:

1.) Cheap room- what you pay is what you get.		

2.) Nice and friendly staff who tries to help with things.		

3.) Room includes paperwork desk with mirror, TV and big bed.

Fata is a boutique hotel which had undergone major refurbishment as introduced by their friendly staff. Tv box is a plus for my noisy kids. They even provide extra towels and drinking water. Definitely worth the value. There is a 7eleven shop just next door. We had a rental car and the staff also reserved a space for us when we come back.

Hotel just fully renovated 💲💲💲👍👍👍

This hotel had been undergoing major renovations. All facilities been upgraded. Comes with private parking. A 7/11 is just next door. Walking distance to riverbank, museum, parks and shopping centre. Hotel is clean and nice now.

Nice hotel in city central

We booked 2 nights and paid before we could see the room... What a big mistake. The bed was the setting for a csi chapter. Huge yellow, blood and brown scarves. A lot of hair. The grey towels and full of black scarves as if the boots had been cleaned with them. I demand that they change my room and take us to a better one where when they open the door a cucaracha receives us a uidiza. The sheets of this bed had more blood than worse. I think the picture of the cubrecolchon. No, we ran for more than 1 day. We ran away immediately at the sight of that infectious bed.

Stayed at Fata Hotel by place to stay during just concluded Kuching Marathon. We choose this Hotel is because the location is near to the Padang Merdeka where the START/FINISH for the Kuching Marathon. 
The building it self is an iconic and historical in nature, it has been there for ages, the hotel was my dad choice of accommodation where ever he travel to Kuching during his service days. 

Back to my review, the check in process a bit slow, when we arrived the receptionist was not at the counter the counter was manned by a men I believed one of the staff but not a receptionist. There are a number of us at the counter, most of it is the runners (i believe)

The check in counter is near the 7E and you have to walk towards the end of the building where the lift lobby is located. It a little troublesome for elderly and those with luggage.

We are made to wait for may be 5 minute before we finally get our rooms keys. As a runner who went from event to event we want to have a rest before our run and getting to wait for the rooms are just not right.

The room that we stayed are not that specious but it is big enough for a family of 6. The amenities are very basic, there is no complimentary coffee and Tea but there is 4 bottle drinking water. I don t take note of any soap but there is shower gel, that should be good enough. The linens are old and it time to be replace. the mattress are new and a little bit hard. The air conditioner works well for a small room. it had two unit actually. There is are opaque glass panel/ mirror that stand directly in the shower cubicle which had no privacy at all. Should take that thing off. The lift are old but it still do his job, the room looks like it has gone major works / renovation but the workmanship are a bit shoddy. The wall are not smooth and the smell of the paint still lingers around. The rooms that we stayed is facing the Red Crescent Building and St. Thomas School. The noise level is basically zero. Tips to choose the rooms, choose the one that facing the St. Thomas Secondary School. The staircase are all lock with metal grill, please do not put the guest life in danger in the event of emergency such as fire. Trip advisor please let the property notified.

when reaching our floor we had to walk across an open air well which is not properly made / construct it put that way is because you see the other room window and there is an awning on the wall, it does not looks presentable at all.
Over all the stay are good, the wifi are weak. Hardly get connected.

Budget Hotel

Stayed here for 4 nights, just for the rainforest music festival. The location is good in terms of walking distance. Everything is within walking distance. You can get to the waterfront, Padang Merdeka and Carpenter street in about 5 to 10 minutes of walking. There is a 7-Eleven just below the hotel. If you like bars and late night drinks, it is located near many of these. However, due to its close proximity to the bars and late night entertainment outlets, if you are a light sleeper, the noise may bother you. I got back from the festival around midnight (it was a weekend) and the sound can be heard clearly at my room. In the morning, during the weekday, you can also hear the sounds of school children screaming and making noises during recess. So the location is good in terms of getting anywhere, however the noise level may be uncomfortable to some. 
The room cleanliness was so-so. The pillows and sheets had stains on them and the walls looked like it needs to be repainted. Bathroom is a bit small.
There is a hot water dispenser on the second floor. The hotel also provide two complimentary bottles of 500ml mineral water.

Budget hotel with a good location

The receptionist is friendly but the housekeeping is not.. poor wifi.. room dusty and have mosquito.. no complimentary tea or coffee and jug kettle..  owner does not care to upgrade or take care of customer need..

Just okay

This significant budget hotel is suitable for backpack travelers,price very reasonable;rooms clean,with a/con. and hot water also,wifi is available.
Location is quite near to town area and the place is tranquil.

rooms just renovated

So far the room is quite okay for me. Walking distance to a nearby shopping mall is near, some old streets along the way with alot of cafes. The room that was provided to us wasn't well cleaned. There's a tiny spider mingling on the bed, room were dusty and and furniture are old. The only thing I like about the room is the air-con. Strong and cold enough to beat the city heat.

Area is too noisy to have a good night sleep.

It's still acceptable but can be better.

There are two wings - an older wing and a more modern wing. This one is a real one-star hotel - with air conditioning - hot water etc... for less than 20€ [no breakfast]. Very central - full of restaurants around... clean. elevator. The rooms overlooking the street are a bit noisy.
