We booked the place via airbnb planning to have a family gathering during eidul adha. We were a total of 9 adults + 7 children. 7 rooms were given to us which was more than enough. The rooms were basic and was antique themed. 
The owner runs a cafe at the place which opens until 6.30 pm. The terrible thing about it, we had to go through the cafe to get to our rooms. It was a total hassle to bring all of our bags and stuff through customers in the cafe. The owner should have separated the entrance to the rooms. There were also no lounge for us to hangout together. We end up hanging out in the courtyard which was not comfortable at all. The pool was a good size but its only one sized pool. No kiddy pool available. Also, the floor of the pool was not cleaned. It had disgusting mold all over it. The pool could be seen from the cafe so, totally no privacy at all. Amenities in the room was basic. They provide the towels and toiletries and that's all. No coffee or tea available. When asked for it, they insist that we buy coffee from their cafe. There were also no fridge available for usage. We brought some cakes and asked if we could keep it in their cafe fridge but was refused by the owner. We didn't even took a lot of pictures at the place because we were disappointed that the place turned out not as we expected. If you are looking for having a private family gathering, this is totally not the place at all. This is more suitable for couples, tourists or friends. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.

Not suitable for private family gathering-No privacy

We had booked a RM 16888 pool wedding package for 50 people. 
First of all, it is clearly that the buffet reservation for 50 people was not sufficient. 

Second, on that night we had fully booked the whole place, but when we asked to switched on the air conditional in the living room, they were not allowed. 

Paying this amount for this kind of service, especially for the buffet part.
Really not worth it, strongly not recommend to everyone.

Having ROM in this place.

My partner & I attended a family wedding at this establishment & what a great outdoor event it was. A large Chinese affair that I must say was the best wedding reception/celebration I have ever attended.
    We stayed the day/night of the wedding in a plain but classy double room. The room was reasonably basic & comfortable but had everything you would need but it was the colonial style that made us sit up & take notice. The hotel is very tranquil & has a "lost in time" feel to it considering it is close to a main thoroughfare. It is about 4 miles from the centre of Melaka.
       The staff go about their business quietly but efficiently.
        Should we ever have to stay this hotel would be top of the list of our choices if it were available.
          

Fantastic Quaint Hotel.

Located in the sleepy town of melaka i stumbled upon this after a lot of research. The villa is decorated splendidly . Old retro artifacts and furniture give it a quaint feel which is homely at the same time. The staff is helpful and polite. Not far from jonker street (10min drive). 

The bedrooms may not be the best ( basic furniture with comfortable beds ) but the living area was fantastic. We had the place to ourselves when we visited and loved the peace and quiet devilla presented.

Main flip-side was absence of a kitchen and breakfast but we were promised that the management was working on it. An upgrade was denied though the bigger rooms were vacant.  A swimming pool was available for those interested. 

Mc donalds and a coffee shop nearBy along with some local eateries. Difficult to find vegetarian food nearby. 

Quaint and peaceful

We read the reviews for this homestay and were quite worried that it'll be a disappointing stay. How wrong we were!

My son was an instant fan of this homestay. He loved the pool and until today can't stop asking us to go back there again. My wife loved the ambiance and the decor. So many antiques and stuff from my parent's childhood for her IG posts. I loved it for the room that we got - I think it was Room 9, the last room at the back. It was large and had two beds. The floor is so terracota! I loike! The bathroom and toilet was large too. We were given a key to the room as well as a remote for the automatic gate. After dark, a guard sits outside the lobby until morning, looking after the place and the carpark. There is a small pantry where guests could make their own coffee or tea or whatever. They play some old time music all day till probably around 10.30 p.m. or so. We didn't have a problem with it as it was nice and remind us of those old time movies.

All that said, the place is quite a distant from the main attraction centre of Malacca. There are a few eating places around the place but the good ones were a bit further away. We had a car so it wasn't a problem for us. We stayed for a night only so we wouldn't know if there was housekeeping offered.

Overall we were not disappointed with the place. I would stay here again. My son would totally agree with me.

Oh so unique!

We had our annual family day at DeVilla and it was superb. The rooms were great, the whole house was uniquely decorated and the staffs were so friendly and obliging. Thank you all for making our weekend a memorable one.
