Charmed by glowing reviews, I booked this resort for its eco claims and conservation efforts, but it has been a nightmare to arrange a transfer from the Kota Bharu Airport and an ensuing ferry to the resort.

No one working there answers emails, phone calls or WhatsApp messages unless tirelessly and persistently contacted over numerous days, and communication and motivation from staff appears consistently poor. The FAQ also fails to address questions beyond extremely basic circumstances.

Was anyone at Bubbles going to notify me that a driver was meeting me at the airport? Who knows, but I lost sleep over it and thought of canceling my stay because many flight times and itineraries do not suit their extremely restricted ferry transfer times.

People have family emergencies, such as the death of a close relative in my case, and cannot plan their lives around this much disorganization, inconvenience, and indifference.

If you’re OK with Kafkaesque uncertainty regarding every aspect of your booking—from confirmation they’ve received the ringgit-only deposit to ascertaining if the resort will lift a finger to help you transfer to their location, this is the place for you.

If you’re looking for a relaxing time, and not a troublesome, fussy journey saddled with unnecessary stress caused my mismanagement and neglect, go elsewhere.

I can understand now why major international travel sites such as TripAdvisor and Booking.com didn’t even list this place as available. There is a marked mismatch of reliability and professionalism.

Too Much Unnecessary Stress Due to Poor Management

This is such a special place, we will never forget our lovely stay at this amazing resort, could never recommend it more! Beautiful peaceful private beach, such a warm and welcoming atmosphere thanks to the lovely staff, special thanks to Pearly for being so organized and quick at responding. Such an interesting turtle conservation project which totally engages you if you are interested. Great dive centre, friendly and professional and most of all very small groups. Amazing food, spacious rooms, paddle boards for free at the beach, kids had such an amazing time and so did I, we will be back!

Hidden gem in Perenthian Islands

Stayed at Bubbles in August 2024 and participated in the turtle conservation programme. Was the best experience for us as a family and the team were fabulous. Would highly recommend! Thank you for being amazing Sarah, Florence, Anya, Nada, and Molly!

Engaging

A lot of heart obviously goes into this place.  Food is buffet style and quite good, rooms clean and with air conditioning.  Snorkel and scuba staff kind.  Transfers to and from airport were seamless.  WhatsApp bubbles was quick to respond to my many, many questions.  Beach and water clean.  My 9 year old son had a good time and wanted to stay longer.  

improvement needed in nut allergies which can be life threatening especially on an isolated island .  Bubbles confirmed allergies  on check in and even listed it on our table card.  First night I ended up finding cashews (no nut warning at the buffet).  Second night, we were told the beef had red bean in it, and they brought a separate beef dish because they thought red bean was a nut.  It can be dangerous if your kids are severely allergic.  **Bubbles please have a nut symbol at the buffet for which dish has nuts and please review the common Malaysian nuts used for cooking with staff so they know as maybe nut allergies are not common in Malaysia but can be dangerous for others  (cashews, peanuts, almonds, walnuts, pecans, etc) **

A lovely time

Amazing stay at an amazing resort! Everything exceeded my expectations - rooms are spacious, clean and outdoor shower is a nice bonus! It takes like 20 steps to get to the beach - and it is one of the nicest beaches I have ever seen! And it is all private feeling as there is not any other accommodation on this beach. It is simply a paradise and you have everything at your finger tips, literally - beach, snorkelling/diving, meals etc.
I stayed there for 5 nights and I am so happy I made this choice!

Paradise in the Perhenthians

This is a very quiet, small resort away from boat traffic, noise and pollution.
An ideal getaway for families and couples.
The staff are outstanding, creating a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
A special mention to Pearly who will organise everything for you and the owner Roni who is a really intestering Malaysian guy.
The bay has a gorgeous beach with decent snorkelling - we saw reef sharks and bumphead parrot fish amongst other things.
And on land we saw monitor lizards, dusky leaf monkeys, a small snake, bats, geckos. 
It's on the edge of the jungle so of course there are mosquitos and other insects... and the Perhentians seem to have quite a lot of hydroids - tiny jellyfish like creatures in the water that sting, although aren't dangerous - the bay at Bubbles seems to less of these than some other sites where we snorkelled.
We met lots of guests who return here year after year - always a good sign.
Oh - and the food is really great. It's buffet style so best eaten when freshly cooked, but this was amongst the best food we ate anywhere in Malaysia.
If you're coming to the Perhentians, whether you're diving, snorkellling or just looking to relax in a hammock, Bubbles comes highly recommended :)

A real gem in the Perhentians.

we (me and my daughter) have visited the Bubbles in August. It is a small and simple Resort. Not a five star but 5 star service and surrounding. 
You can reach the Resort only by boat and there is only jungle around the hotel. 
The communication is easy with them and they are so helpful for arranging the transport to the Bubbles. I noticed it by myself as we arrived late due to traffic jam but the boats man was waiting 1,5 h for us. 
Normally outsides guests are not coming but in case they come to the beach, they will not get any food or drinks from the hotel. 
The beach is marvellous and right at the beach you can see fishes. 
They have some SUP, sand toys for kids, life jackets if you want, drinking water,… everything is free 
The diving Center is professional as well. 

The food is simple but really good and lunch / dinner is served as a buffet. 

This resort is one out of my personal Top 3 which I have visited during the last 20 years in SEA.

Top small resort, always again

Wonderful tropical experience. Our kids got their Padi OW here (referral) and we enjoyed diving, snorkling and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff really made our holiday extraordinary and the complimentary meals topped it off.

Well the beach is perfect almost wonderful, snorkeling here is great and for divers it looks like a great place - turtles at night is also a great experience but that s all for the positive side 
But all the other topics are horrible : rooms are not clean, bed cheets are not changed from one client to the next one, food is ok but mainly served cold, mouse in restaurant, in 5 days there we were not able to have a long chair on the beach as there are so few and in very bad conditions, ashtrays in the smoking area are left full during 5 days, no fruit at the breakfast, no possibility to arrange a dedicated transfer for 5 at a reasonable price, diving slot cancelled and so on ….
It definitely does not deserve such a high ranking : service is poor - there are so many  people here supposed to serve you but they just hang around using the same facilities as tourists with none intention to help or serve you … it is just that you pay a lot to be in their place and you have to adapt and above all do not ask for anything ….
