found this just looking thru town, no elevator,clean with need for updates..helpful staff..one block back from main street,so quiet and secure.
ask for bunga indian resturant...great food 👍 small prices, sit at a community table and meet the locals..opposite side of block is the open early (24 hours) small priced indian resturant when you have an early pick up. 
🛵 you can rent a scooter by the hour at corner next to curry house on main street..Mone will help you..
can see tea gardens and landscape 🍃
and only western type market in brinchang a 15 minute scooter ride away..also local street market there.

good value for money, close in to resturants

I was there for 3night. The location  are good.the hote middle of Tanah Ratah .the price was good. It's near buy bank, ATM, bus stop, resturent, you can reach all walk 3-4 minutes. The room was sweetable to. 

Great hotel 

We stayed in the Bird's Nest Hotel for two nights as part of an organised tour. Although the lobby is quite nice and wifi is free, the hotel is pretty basic. I would give it two and a half stars rather than two if I could.

The rooms are a decent size, though come with two single beds even if you are a couple. The bathrooms are tiny and wetroom style, which means that the entire room, including the toilet and toilet paper, get soaked when you have a shower.

We personally had no problem with the cleanliness of our room, but other people in our tour group complained that their sheets were slightly dirty and because all of the rooms had their windows opened when we arrived, some people ended up getting bitten by mosquitos overnight because of this. 

There was no lift in this hotel, and our room was on the fourth floor, which meant we had to drag our very heavy bags up and down the flights of stairs. Breakfast was also not available, but there is a Chinese restaurant nearby as well as a Starbucks where you can go to pay for this. 

There is not all that much to do around the hotel, but we visited because we were going trekking in the Highlands which took around an hour to get to in a jeep (fun but take some tablets if you get bad motion sickness!). I imagine that this is why most travellers visit the Bird's Nest hotel, so I was surprised when we arrived back after a long day of trekking to be told by the hotel staff to take our shoes off before entering the lobby. 

Overall, this is not at all a luxury hotel and we wouldn't particularly recommend. We found it ok because we were out all day and only used it to wash and sleep. Could do with improvement.

Very basic hotel

Stayed here as part of a G Adventures tour, will be telling them that they should remove this hotel from the tour. Hotel is very basic which is of course expected for the price, however, no breakfast even offered and the following experiences have lead to the rating I have given:

- Rooms are dirty including linen and the room in general.
- Windows wouldn't close as they were broken which is not good when there are mosquitos in the area. When we confronted the staff about this, they were very rude and not helpful at all. At first they gave us a can of antiseptic and told us we would be 'fine'. When we said this was unacceptable we were given another can of spray (not designed for mosquitos but for cockroaches) told to spray the room but to leave the room for 10 minutes as the fumes were toxic (!).
- Wifi is offered and free but is very poor, to the point where you cant load the internet. So may as well not be offered!
- We went out for the whole day on a trek, the room was not cleaned at all while we were gone, no clean towels, fresh sheets etc. This was the same for the rooms that the rest of the group stayed in. 

I am sure there are plenty of other cheap places to stay in the Cameron Highlands (and have found some just looking on this site). Don't come to stay at this hotel and let it ruin your time in this lovely place.

Avoid if possible

OMG, what an awful hotel!

- staff at the reception is super rude.
- rooms are damp, bed linen was wet and didn't look clean
- because it's so damp, the rooms are also very cold and smell funny.
- there were random wires hanging from the ceiling and walls
- water in the shower has only 2 options: scolding hot or freezing cold.
- there is no lift, so prepare (if you decide to stay there...) to drag your bags up and down the narrow stairs
- there's no breakfast, and the hotel doesn't have a kitchen. They have a kettle at the reception, by the toilet.

There are plenty of nice places in Cameron Highlands, but Birds Nest is not one of them.
