Pardon me if this has been a long overdue review but it's better late than never, right? 

My husband and I stayed at G10 on June 27-29, 2018 before heading to a resort. We chose it for three important reasons: budget-friendly, a block away from Hulhumale Beach and highly-recommended by a friend who works for a luxury resort.

We managed our expectations, considering the price, but it turned out to be a great choice: from the moment we booked a room until we checked out, everything was so smooth. The sweet, accommodating G10 staff even welcomed us with a romantic turndown service upon arrival. It wasn't our honeymoon, by the way, but they made it so special for us. It also felt like we were taken care of by family members. 

The place was clean that we even walked barefoot inside the building most of the time. The accommodation came with a basic set breakfast. Most importantly, they arranged airport pickup and dropoff for us. What more could we ask for?

If you visit Maldives and would like to spend a night or two on a local island before heading the resort, G10, definitely is a place to be.

Budget-friendly and just lovely!

Arrived on a night flight from Hong Kong sometime in March 2018. After clearing immigration and luggage retrieval, I proceeded to the bus station, just beside Burger King. Was about 2 minute walk. Bus operates every 30 minutes and the fare is MRF20 (almost USD2). There will be 2 stops. Alight on the second one. From the second stop (which where the bus terminates), it was a short 2 minute to the hotel. When alighting the bus, turn left and you will see a Chinese restaurant and a barber - the hotel is at the back of these. 

The check - in was fast and easy. They took and copied my passport. Booked through Agoda so the payment part was taken care of.

Room was huge, I think not typical of Hulhumale. The bed was big, AC was really good, TV working fine and the showers are with hot and cold bath. 

They don’t have any F&B outlets at all. 

Service was just ok for this city and the check - out was fast too. 


G10 the hang of it 

This was our first trip to the Maldives and if most of you who have travelled there would understand that we are completely dependent on the sea boats our public ferries to get around. We had missed our 11:00am boat and we stayed a night in this hotel. It is obviously not a 5 star property. But it is a basic hotel which is very conveniently located near the Hulumale jetty. There is a restaurant right opposite to the inn which has a decent menu. The bathrooms are not the best, but the bed is huge. However, the most important part of the stay was the two men who are running the inn. Right from picking us up, to making sure we get the next ferry on time, to constantly assisting us with all the information. The staff was very hands on. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an easy stopover.

Excellent staff!

We stayed at the G10 after a diving cruise. The hotel is well located, near the beach and easy access to transportation to the airport which is in the same island.
The room was quite good but noisy due to construction works nearby.
We ask for additional towels to go to the beach and had to wait almost an hour. 
The hotel has no elevator.
The employees are friendly but it seems that they do not have a clear idea on how to run a hotel.


A poor experience

I booked the airport transfer at USD10. Staff was late for pickup. I had to call the hotel from airport's information counter and was told to wait there. A 5-seater car was prepared for us and another family of 2.5. The child had to sit on her mother's lap. The ride to hotel was short, approx 10 minutes. 

Check-in was smooth, staff liaised with our resort on the seaplane time. We were shown to our room on the 2nd floor. Room was neat & tiny, but rustic. Aircon, TV & a small fridge available. Toiletries are not provided. Wifi is free but only in range at the reception. There was loud vacuum-like noises heard from behind our room door past 11pm. The mattress was too hard for us.

Staff gave us a wake up call next morning as we had to check out at 5.30am. The reception was empty when we checked-out, with no car in sight. We were left hanging, until a car pulled up in front of the hotel to signal us in. Transfer to airport this time is via taxi but already paid by hotel.

Good location for a stopover

I stayed for the day between two flights. Room for 1 person, 50 € asked in advance, before I saw the room. Room on 3rd floor, no elevator, narrow stairs. Friendly staff helped with my luggage. 
Positive + Excellent position, only 100 m from the bust station to the airport (2 USD fare one way), close to the beach, shops and restaurants. The room is big and bed is big as well. Free Internet. Air Condition and ceiling fan worked properly, because you can´t open the window. 
Negative- Dirty sheets with hairs on top, not ironed, dirty pillow cases, curtains with stains. No cover on the bed. Water boiler filled half with water from previous guest, two bottles of water, one is sealed, the other not. Cups and spoons are there, but no coffe, tea or sugar bags, Bathroom is spacious but no cover (seat) on WC, as the water in basin runs it drops under from the tube on the tiles and your feet, No shampoo, shower gel or conditioner (let alone body milk). Only cheap hand soap is in the bathroom, Even for one day, I find it unacceptable to await guest with dirty sheets. After my complains, the staff run to fix it and they also helped with telephone charger. It should improve a lot to be a 3 star and to charge 50 € per 10 hours.

Thank you, but no

We checked in late, after booking through booking.com at the time night. Rooms was OK for stop over. but the water was not heating and when we inquired, the guy at the reception said that the heater was out of order. Will not book again. 

Not satisfactory

We stayed at G10 BEACH INN HULHUMALE on 20th May 2019. WE GOT ROBBED.
(STOLEN ITEMS: Gopro, Fossil Smartwatch, 1,925mvr, HK & Macau money and USD2, 500)

We arrived at 9 pm Male airport from Hongkong flight.  And checked in at 9:30 pm at G10 Beach Inn.  We stayed at the lobby for 15 minutes, because as per the reception (Bangladesh guy) he can't find my booking even I show the email confirmation of Booking.com.  Then he called his boss Abdin (Hotel in charge).
They allocated us in the ground floor room beside the reception desk.

I informed the reception that I'm leaving 6 AM due to the morning flight going back to the resort.

I woke up at 5 AM and noticed that my bag was missing at the luggage rack.
I checked the cabinet it was not there. As I searched everywhere, nothing to found.  I opened the curtains and found out the 2 WINDOWS are wide open and I saw my things lying there.

Got panicked and called the receptionist sleeping in the sofa at the reception area.
We asked to call the police.
The hotel in charge came followed by the police.

We already reported to the police and given a statement on the same day.  Still waiting for there action and report.

They only gave us 150mvr for the taxi.  When I asked what action they going to do, Abdin just replied will wait for the police report.  Still didn't hear anything from the G10 Beach Inn management up to now.   They never contacted us and not replying to us.

Hoping for some good result will come from the police.  Still, thank God we're not hurt.  If we wake up while the crime only God knows what will happen to us.

The most disappointing part is the G10 management never approached and communicating with us.
I believe it's the management responsibility of whoever staying in there property.
Or at least show care to us but nothing.

Poor security. Not safe at all.

GOT ROBBED! NO ACTION FROM G10 MANAGEMENT AT ALL!

The official check in time supposed to be 12pm we went there 3times and finally after 1pm we were given the room. The room os big but the decor and bathroom are terrible. Wifi does not work in the room so you need to go downstairs, bathroom is better to be avoided, you are surrounded by building sites. Staff not very friendly. Fortunately for us we did not try their breakfast. When leaving the hotel at 6:10am we found two member of staff sleeping on the sofas at the reception and we had to wake up one in order to leave this place

The plus of this place is that it is close to the beach, relatively close to the ferry plus very close to the bus stop going to the airport. It has fridge, kettle, TV and AC in the room. I need to say we did not see any insects in the room which is a relief but we would avoid this place in the future

Worst stay ever

The hotel is dirty, no wifi, water heater is not functioning, prison kinda breakfast. My friends and I even got bitten by some insects when we were sitting at the hotel lobby. We wanted cancel our stay and get a refund, the hotel staff is not helpful at all, they keep giving us excuses instead of refund to us.
