The resort is ok but unfortunately is difficult to find gluten free food, even Sweet Paris Creperie, is the only location that you won’t find gluten free crepes. 

Vidanta resorts are very big and they don’t have a restaurant or station with fresh press juices.

FIRST TIME AT MAYAN PALACE 

¡Hola! My family and I traveled from Chicago, IL to Acapulco in April of 2023. It was our Spring Break and we had a blast! 

The pools, shuttle service, beach, on-site dinning options, and staff were all excellent! Every time we came back from a day out at the pool/beach we returned to a nice clean room! The staff even left us Chocolates! 

We are satisfied travelers 👍🏼

The resort was clean, fun, beautiful, and family-friendly!

Old infrastructure, bad food, bad distribution of pool towards the beach (too far),  bad service from the waiters at the pool area. There is too many people and not enough pool loungers and beds, they have more people than they can accommodate because not only they serve the guests but the owners of the villas which are way more people. Simply not enough staff. Also, do not recommend the destination, better go to Riviera and by experience you will find better resorts, hi quality hospitality and enough room in pool area and way more bars for everyone for the same price. Resort outdated.

We always enjoy going here each year because it is not the rat race of the bigger resorts. The only Sad thing is that they are not putting any money into this property and there is a really big sales pitch to go to the other, "Jurassic park" property.

Yearly visitor

We returned this year for a month (mid Feb-March)
Got a great two bedroom facing the city, beautiful views!
We never got tried of the resort or the beach at our feet.
Because of covid concerns we ate on and around our hotel and found more then enough variety  to eat. We found the cost a little high but the quality and quantity made up for it.
Beach staff always greed me by name and appeared happy with their employment.
The music at sun set accompanied by two for one drinks was always a must!
A total A+ experience having a cold drink watching the sun set over the ocean listening to great music, l sitting here looking out my window wishing l was their.
Front desk and taxi area run first class! English was no problem throughout the resort.
The only bad experience was on one Thursdpay night at the golf green restaurant, the food was bad and the service worse given we were one of the only tables.
We did get to experience an earth quake and large wedding on the beach on the same night!
Looking forward to my return next Feb 2023 and have my count down on!

Another great vacation

Very small for Vedanta property. I do not speak Spanish and phone translation not working well, spoty internet. Property clean. Several Restaurants not walking distance. Food expensive and not remarkable.  Construction all day next door. Great bar service at pool and beach. Beach clean but very heavy surf,not suitable for children. Posting on resorts website about daily activities incorrect and incomplete. With the severity of language barrier I wouldn't recommend this resort unless yo speak the language

Limited English

It started and ended with the taxi service.  Jose Anica and Euriel #8 Taxi greeted us with a smile at the airport and they quickly became friends.  I would suggest doing the day tour of Acapulco with them and eating at the restaurant with Cliff divers. 
Jose and Euriel went out of their way to make us feel special. 

Mayan Palace surpassed all expectations. The  pools  and service were Spectacular! The views were amazing, the food was awesome! From Bell service to maid service it was very professional and very friendly! 

The beach was beautiful. I’d suggest bringing a boogie board or renting one at the beach you can do horseback riding, rent ATVs, Beach equipment umbrellas and chairs etc.
I would suggest the shrimp tacos from the restaurant at the beach 

We will do it again someday! thank you Myan Palace and especially Jose  and Euril for making our 35th anniversary trip phenomenal!!

Mayan Palace Acapulco a Mexico

As other reviewers have noted, Mayan assigns less desirable rooms in order to entice guests to attend a presentation.  As an owner for nearly two decades, this strategy had the opposite effect.  Several developments promised at purchase time have not come to fruition.

Nevertheless, the grounds are beautiful and facilities are clean. Staff are friendly and wore masks in accordance with COVID protocols. At check-in, ask if any amenities are closed.  During a recent visit, the lazy river was only open Thursday - Sunday.

If you want grocery items, WalMart and Mega are a long walk or a short taxi ride away.  If you are at Mayan Playa and decide to walk, take  Costera de las Palmas to (OXXO) Viad Diamante to Blvd de las Naciones.  (Walking through Vidanta's property is not the shortest distance between the two points.)  Also, be sure to take shopping bags or be prepared to purchase them.

For local fast food type eatery, Los Tarascos is down the street from Walmart on Simon Bolivar.  I recommend bypassing the first location and continuing another few blocks on the same street to the second location.  (All chain franchises are not the same. Think about where you go when you're at home)

For local seafood,  El Sirenito is off Simon Bolivar a couple of blocks from WalMart 
 (behind the OXXO on the left side of the street)

Indoor public places required masks and temperature checks were done at the door.   

At the time, a negative COVID test taken within a day of departure was required to enter the U.S.   The BinaxNOW proctored self-test was purchased prior to leaving home. (Spares were brought along, just in case) The Navica app was downloaded and registration completed.  The testing process was easy.  Read instructions and follow proctor directions. Results are available in 15 minutes.   Within 30 minutes, certification of the negative results were emailed and texted.    At airport check-in, showing electronic proof of status was sufficient.   Test results did not have to be printed.

Nice place to visit, but don't buy

Very ridiculous mask policies inside the pool. Not allow to take your own food to the beach and also have penalties almos in enything you do.  They will just threat you to deduct it from you deposit.  Also the state have taxes that they never inform you until you have to check out.

Not impressed with the service at this place.

Nice facility with a number of restaurants - Limon y Sal, Green Break at the golf/tennis club.....  The beach at the resort was excellent and we watched several sunsets during the week we stayed.  

One thing we did to avoid being bombarded at the Acapulco airport was to use a Private Taxi Service run by Sebastian Hernandez  (website: acapulcoforall).  Sebastian was excellent as a tourguide as well and took us to the Peace Chapel and La Quebreda (even organized some ringside seating).  

Overall: Mayan Palace in Acapulco along with Grand Mayan is an excellent resort and worthwhile going to.
