We've stayed there 3 different times for multiple days. Simply a great find for us. There are only 3 rooms...each one beautiful with a colonial atmosphere, comfortable beds, soft sheets and friendly staff. Our group happened to get sick (nothing to do with the hotel) and they took good care of us until we could travel a couple of days later than we would have normally left. Very good location in town, easy walking distance to the square, downtown, church and restaurants...in fact they run a very good restaurant at the hotel. We can't say enough for their hospitality and a reasonable price. We travel on motorcycles and the owner lets us roll our bikes into the courtyard. Super place!

Excellent and friendly

Beautiful courtyard with 3 guest rooms and a bustling cafe . Breakfast is included and it was fabulous! Make sure you brush up on your Spanish and call them directly to secure your room and get the best rate . We got screwed through booking.com and were told by the innkeeper that had we called directly it would have been almost half the cost. Nothing you can do about it once you're already there . Our total for 2 nights in the largest room was still only $226. The room could use a new couch and sitting chairs but the beds were comfy and water was hot . No matter where you stay in the heart of town you will hear the traffic and music etc so you may as well stay at this charming inn and enjoy the beautiful courtyard and the sound of the locals singing down the street . Dinner at Santiagos was so fantastic we did it twice ! Also ate at Teresitas which was fabulous as well . Enjoy this gorgeous town - we will definitely return . 

Mexico hospitality 

I paid 1,000 pesos per night for three nights. Credit cards accepted. Huge, spotless, beautiful room. Large, comfortable bed. Wifi, ceiling fan, and A/C in the room. Good bathroom with plenty of hot water--takes about thirty seconds for the hot water to start. Excellent location close to the Plaza de Armas. Good cafe onsite that serves breakfast and lunch and snacks...it closes around 5:30 p.m. (Continental breakfast is included.) Restaurants across the street. Pleasant rooftop terrace. Wonderful staff. Highly recommended...

I'd stay here again...

Alamos is a wonderful place to visit. My wife and I try to visit at least a couple times a year. There are a number of really nice options to stay, but in our opinion, nothing compares to Luz del Sol. When you consider the location, the price, and the service, it's supremely better.

There are *some* nicer looking options. Nothing is nicer looking in Alamos than Hacienda de Los Santos. But when you consider that it is significantly more expensive and the service is significantly inferior, there's just no comparison. 

Luz del Sol is small. There are only three rooms. They are all beautiful. I have booked all three rooms on occasion, which means after hours, the entire hacienda is mine (as the staff leaves for the evening). That's a really attractive option for me which is hard to find elsewhere.

Alamos is a small town, but it is still a considerable walk from some places. Luz del Sol is right in the heart of the city. It will take you less than a minute to walk to the town square. 

Parking can be a little bit of a challenge. I always park on the street, but parking in front of the hotel during the day isn't always an option. However, towards the evening you'll find parking is abundantly available.

There are a number of places I would recommend in Alamos, but the top on my list is Hotel Luz del Sol.

A Lesser Known, Superior Option

We showed up without a reservation no problem getting room. This is a nice little hotel and they include breakfast. Walking distance to everything in this beautiful old Mexico town.  Lovely staff, very friendly.

Great Place

This is a great place to stay. Its small only 3 very large rooms. Has great hot water and Air conditioning if needed. There is a small restaurant on the premises. The staff is friendly and very helpful.in town behind the church so its close to everything.
