Amigos is our favorite place to stay in Bacalar.  

It is clean, safe, and very very friendly and accommodating.  Horacio and Rosy take great care of their guests.  

There is a fridge in the room; a microwave, toaster oven and tea kettle in the common area.  Coffee is made every morning, there is a huge selection of herbal teas and a cold water dispenser.

The sunrise view is spectacular. There are kayaks you can use for free to go out and experience it.  

Don't bother reading any more reviews, just go and enjoy the most "tranquilo" time ever.  😁

If you're wondering about staying here - Yes, do it.

A real paradise, the view from the room that I always dreamed of! the use of free kayaks, excellent location in the center of the lagoon. the staff is not to say wonderful, always available, with great advice and a smile keep it that way! the only advice you could add a bicycle service for guests to get to the restaurants and the center more easily. thank you for making our stay at Bacalar unforgettable!

A terrace in heaven!

We were 3-generation family, mother, daughter(13), grandmother. This place was everything we needed; easy access to that turquoise water whenever we chose, upon waking, kayaking out for sunrise or sunset or just because.., slipping into the water any time. 

We appreciated the warm welcome, helping ground us to good close-by food options, etc. They've been around pretty much the longest of anyone along that shore and they clearly know their trade. We really enjoyed our stay.

A really lovely place to land

We stayed 2 nights in this nice little hotel. Spacious but clean room and bathroom with mosquito nets at the window door, a strong part of the room the terrace equipped with chairs and armchairs and with a view of the lake. The manager Horacio very kindly provided us with kayaks to get out to the lake, gave us excellent tips for restaurants and boat trips.

I stayed here with my mum and my 13 year old daughter for two nights as part of a road trip around the Yucatán Península. It was a great place to spend a couple of days.  Horacio was very welcoming and helpful and organised hire of a double kayak for us to take out, in addition to the single ones which were already there. We really enjoyed the food next door at Baraka.

Great kayaking

We are delighted to be staying in this lovely 5-room hotel. It is well located, close to the city (20 minutes walk) and with swimming access to the lagoon. There are open-access kayaks, a shared terrace with two large tables overlooking the lagoon. Our upstairs room had a nice terrace with views as well. The hotel staff are very kind.

Good value for money

But special mention for the host, who is simply incredible, of a kindness and crazy availability Kayak available in the accommodation, sublime pontoon for sunset and sunrise... everything was just perfect.

Romantic Parenthood

It was zen, clean with our small terrace! and a super pontoon! we even loan you canoes too cool! for the hot water little bemool take your shower quickly but it's a detail! you're not far from the restaurants 50 m away a lady makes burgers by the road in a cabin I recommend also passing 😁

Zen!

I had the most wonderful time there. It’s like living in a private house just in front of the lagoon, with a direct access into the water (and free kayaks). The room was clean and had amazing view. The stuff was so nice. It felt like home. Definitely recommend.

Highly recommend!!!

My wife and I visited Bacalar in October 2021 and we had an excellent stay at Amigos Hotelito. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. They helped us book a boat tour, get taxis and provided great recommendations for places to eat and visit in Bacalar. Our room was fantastic and included a balcony and hammock. The hotel also has a dock and hammock, which I loved. This is a great spot if you want a more intimate experience versus a huge, soulless hotel.
