The location is amazing. The rooftop balcony makes the hotel special. 
Only bad thing is the roof top water running in the night keeps you awake in some rooms. 
They have a nice little kitchen in each room so we did not do the breakfast in the mornings with Cate.

Fun in the sun

Casa Misifus is ideally located in my opinion.  Walking distance to shopping, groceries, restaurants and the ocean but far enough away from the town centre to be quiet.   It has an awesome upper deck that you can relax in, play cards or just watch the people and the ocean.  There is a beautiful pool to swim or just cool off in.  And for short stays, breakfast was included and cooked fresh every day. The property and rooms are very clean.  The kitchen has very thing you need and they give you a big bottle of water which lasted us 9 days. The rooms are big and the bed was  comfortable.  The water is hot in the shower which was delightful. Kate who manages the place is helpful and speaks great English. Everyone was welcoming and friendly.

Relax in beautiful Barra

We stayed for 7 days & really enjoyed our time at Casa Misifus. Cate was very welcoming & the rooms are  very comfortable & super clean! Housekeeping staff cleaned everyday & changed bedding on a regular basis. We would definately stay there again! 

Very good!

This is the second year we have stayed with Cate. The rooms are large and clean, the pool is refreshing and the rooftop deck has the most beautiful views of the sunsets. 
You will also be greeted by her dogs Coco and Domitello.

Friendly, clean and convenient

Casa Misifus is one of the cleanest & well maintained hotels we have ever stayed at. The owner & staff were friendly & accommodating. The location is central to all you need.  It was quiet & had everything you need for a short or long stay. The gardens, pool & terrace are lovely.

Great accommodation

This fantastic little place was our home for 6 weeks while we continued our Barra de Navidad experience. Cate and her staff run a very clean and attentive operation. The location could not be more prefect, close to the ocean, downtown and the barrio.  We would have stayed longer but we had a reservation at another property. The 2 resident dogs are very friendly and are characters! Thank you Cate for an excellent time.

6 Weeks of Barradise

We stayed here 5 nights and liked it just fine.  The ground floor with the pool is well groomed and attractive.  The water temp while we were there was ideal.  Our 3rd floor room was clean and large with 2 doubles pushed together for a comfortably large bed.  There was a comfortable couch, table and 2 chairs.  Kitchen was minimally furnished but no microwave.  

Nights were quite.  Room has a quite ceiling fan and the air conditioner was also quite, so we slept good.  Plenty of hot water and good pressure.

Breakfasts were not exciting but were fine to get a lazy day started.  The hotel is only a short walk to the center and there was car parking there or on the street.

All of this might not matter as the hotel is up for sale.  It would be a loss for lodging options in Barra if it goes private, and interestingly, we learned it was built as a private residence originally.

Good hotel, but maybe not for long

We stayed here for a few days while in the area.  It's a lovely place, nicely landscaped and breakfast is included.  My only complaint was the size of the breakfast.  Not enough for a full grown man and no meat such as bacon, sausages or ham offered.  It seems they were skimping on the amount of food.
A very nice, hardworking young couple from Venezuela were working there.  Hopefully they will succeed in returning to their country one day or find a better life somewhere.

Nice place but poor excuse for breakfast.

I was there for Christmas in 2014 and plan on going back November 2017.  
It was quiet, very clean, had a great breakfast... and I felt safe.  I had a massage while I was there, it was wonderful.  
I highly recommend it.

I'd go back again in a heartbeat

Wow what a great place to stay!  This little gem was perfect for our week stay in Barra de Navidad.  It is quiet and clean, close to town (a 10 minute walk) with very nicely appointed units like mini apartments.  The units have kitchens and the pool was wonderful to enjoy in the hot weather.  One of our best surprises was the full breakfast, cooked fresh for us every morning.  Every morning we had fresh fruit, coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice and a hot entre which included scrambled eggs with our choice of fillers, French toast and also some Mexican favorites.  The ladies that run the Casa are great hostesses, Cate and Caroline.  They also have a full service Spa there as well and my husband and I both booked a wonderful massage there.  There are also restaurants nearby that you can easily walk to.  A definite great find in Barra.
