We booked online for $33 a night here weeks before our trip. When we got to the hotel, they refused to stick to that price and wanted about double, even after we showed them our confirmation number and details. So with our crying 14 month old son, after traveling for 2 days, we ended up leaving and had to just walk with all of our suitcases and upset baby until we could flag down a cab, which took like 45 minutes because this hotel is outside of town. We were really frustrated with how unprofessional they were. We didnt feel like many people tried to take advantage of us, we absolutely love Cabo, this is the only place we have had an experience like this. But wow please dont stay here.

Terrible experience

First the good; The hotel is located right next to the Aguila/ABC bus station with buses to San Jose del Cabo, Todos Santos, La Paz and other points north. The price is great, especially for Cabo. I paid $590 pesos (roughly $30) for a room for 2 people. The rooms are big, spacious and clean, as is the property. Also has a restaurant onsite that dishes up good, cheap food. Service is good too. 

Now the bad; the hotel is far from the center of town/beach/bars, none of the "Cabo action" is within walking distance, you have to take a taxi. Not the hotels fault obviously, but something to be mindful of... The place has a lot of rules and you are sort of treated like a prison inmate, not like a paying guest. On top of the room rate they charge you a refundable $100 deposit for the TV remote, key and towels. And the workers will go and actually check your room before you're allowed to check out. 

This "process" ended up being a problem for my wife and I because we were already in a rush to catch our early morning bus and we had to wait for our deposit, while one of the workers walked all the way up to the 2nd floor, to the back of the hotel to give the "all clear." At least he used a walky-talky to radio back the "all clear" and we didn't have to physically wait for him to walk all the way back!

The reception lady was nice when we checked in and out, but the night guy/guard that patrols the pool area "enforcing the rules" was very serious and never smiled even when you greeted him. You can't hang out in the courtyard/pool area past 10pm! Even to just sit down! I totally understand not being able to get in the pool past 10pm and keeping noise levels down, but not being able to sit anywhere is ridiculous and made us feel very unwelcome and more like a burden than guests. 

The guy didn't even walk over and tell us we couldn't sit down, he just yelled at us from the 2nd floor balcony the minute we were about to sit down and have our coffee. What made things even worse is that they don't provide any chairs whatsoever in the rooms! So there was nowhere for my wife and I to sit, aside from on our bed. The rooms are huge but they only have a bed, no chairs, just like the large closet with no hangers. 

We also didn't like that the maids enter your room without your permission and clean the room even if you don't want them to. I specifically told the receptionist we didn't need the room clean yet the minute we turned our backs to go have breakfast they entered our room and cleaned it, and to make matters worse they threw away our reusable water bottles without our permission! Not cool.
