Awful. Clear and tidy but they don't care about the hostel. 2 out of three nights we were kept up by a constant steam of guests going up and down from the roof terrace where they were hosting a massive private party complete with PA system. We couldn't sleep until the early hours nor even talk and hang out in the common spaces and the bathrooms were left in a state too.

No warning whatsoever and no apology later either!

Hostel guests are second class citizens

At first we loved the place- incredibly located right across the square from the Cathedral, the hostel has an unbeatable view. I had found an offer for the double room online and as the same price was not offered upon arrival, I booked it that way. The reception did not speak English. I speak Spanish, so it was not a big deal but my friend who doesn't speak Spanish thought it was unacceptable for a place which is not that cheap to not have any English-speaking staff. Finally we were shown to our room, a spacious one with a large comfortable bed and 2 small balconies. The room has its own bathroom but all the bathrooms are together in the bathroom zone. It was clean but the shower desperately needs maintaining! In the morning there was no breakfast, only coffee and cookies (with ants walking on them). The worst part was that when we asked to leave our bags to go explore the city, the reception refused! We couldn't believe it but they were really not helpful at all and we ended up going all the way to the bus station to leave our backpacks for the day to be able to explore the city before our bus at night. I have to say this experience ruined the city for us a little. Horrible establishment which should not be allowed to call itself a hostel! Not reccomend, at least not for backpackers. But impression is that the owner isn't here and the staff are just painfully unprofessional and don't care. Sad.

Horrible service

This place cannot call itself a hostel. A hostel is a place to sleep. RIGHT ABOVE the rooms, on the rooftop, there are private parties!!!! The entrance to the parties is through the hostel!! From the rooms where you'd want to sleep you can hear extremely loud party music and people. If you're not in luck you'll be stuck there with the no sleep + horrible sound torture. Staying there makes no sense and hosting parties above room people pay to sleep in, on a rooftop (the sound goes everywhere), is absolutely SCANDALOUS!!

Scandalous

Made a booking with Expedia for a regular private room.  The manager had my reservation in his phone but didn't have my room available as he overbooked.  Offered instead an entire 6 bed dorm in place of a normal room.  I think he even threw in a discount.  Spoke English and helped me find a good room elsewhere so three stars. 

No Room at the Inn

Good option on a budget, very friendly staff, great location. Rooms with fans are hot during the day as windows face south-west. Good but simple breakfast (fruits, toasts with butter and coffee). Private bathrooms in rooms doesn't mean the bathroom is in the room, they're all in one area, there is just one dedicated for your room.

Great location, reasonable price


Everything is perfect in this place. It's on main square, it is very clean (and after over 3 weeks in Mexico it is nice to find a clean place with clean sheets and no holes in sheets or towels!!! Every room is associated with a color and has a corresponding bathroom (very small the green one but has for everything you need in it). Bed is very comfortable. Every bed has a socket to recharge electronic devices. Kitchen is fully equipped and big (clean) fridge. Big table where you can sit and very nice reception area with plenty of sitting space and a small balcony with a great view on the main square. This is not - thank goodness - a party hostel so no music, no parties. Great for relaxing and sleeping
The hot water was turned off.. I had to ask for them to turn it on. This was really the only thing
