Be careful of Granada 6, Agavero and Hostelito Hostels they are owned by same company, on around the 11th Feb I got an email saying my booking was cancelled with no reason why?. Well they offered me two properties so I selected one, so right up till the 17th Feb they could not confirm if I had the same room double bed with private shower, the booking agent kept emailing them all this time I was in Cuba, where you had to walk a long way to find an internet area. This spoilt my holiday for that time, it was not till I cancelled my booking I got a confirmation from them saying I had a room , I didn't want to take the charge of them cancellng again on me so I moved on. They are bad communicators so if you book with them have a back up plan, I also moved on from the online booking agent as well they kept giving me different stories. 

Cancellation no reason why

The people always make the difference, and these guys made us feel like family right from the start. I stayed here last year and couldn’t wait to get back. The location is absolutely perfect in the heart of downtown - my favorite taco place is only a couple blocks away, as is the ADO bus station! The breakfast seemed to get better and better each day. And we spent many hours by the pool making new friends and memories! Definitely will be back!

Just like home! 

My partner and I stayed here for 5 days after a horrible experience in a different hostel in Cancun... It was just perfect!
We arrived pretty late at night which wasn't an issue since they have 24/7 reception. The guy who received us and all the staff made us feel at home all the way through our stay, which we really valued, especially after the bad experience we had. He showed us around and accommodated us in a cute and really comfortable private room with a/c (crucial to sleep at night in Cancun!). 
It's located in a very quiet area, so it isn't a party place and people are very respectful with that. There is a supermarket nearby and the bus station is just 5/10min walk.
To top it all up, they also have a pool! Couldn't ask for more really.

Perfect!

Me and my friend stayed at Granada 6 our first night in Cancún and it was wonderful. We checked in late and the staff was still up (24/7 access) which was very helpful. The hostel was very cute and clean  and they gave us a room with a/c which was a huge plus since it is so hot this time of year. The staff was super friendly and sincere and we felt very safe. We would definitely stay here again and longer during our next trip here!

Great hostel in the heart of Cancun

The place is amazing, the location is perfect, near to ADO (transportation), restaurants, supermarket, pharmacy etc... The staff is helpful, the hostel is really clean and the bed comfy, the A/C in the room works very well. The breakfast is delicious, every morning a different Mexican style breakfast. I stayed 3 nights and after go to the islands I came  back for more nights at Granada 6 because I really feel comfortable there. Definitely recommend!!

Amazing

Nice family style hostel with the pool (clean) , good breakfast, big and clean double room.

We had room downstair with two showers :) 
15 mins walk from the bus station.

Good value for money!!!

Good hostel/house 

I would not recommend this place the owner smokes inside their breakfast is shot and the only reason they charge u extra is for their dirty pool which no one used in the 12 days I’m here so ur better off staying at coco or Miranda 

Do not stay at Granada 6

The hostel is comfortable, clean and close to the ADO bus station. The pool is small but a great way to end the day. Security was pretty poor, there was always someone on reception but the dorm room didn't lock and the luggage cupboard was poorly secured. Air con was only allowed on at nights so it was unbearably hot and stuffy in the day. It wasn't walking distance to tourist spots like playa Delphines and Coco Bongo so you'd have to drive there.

Average hostel stay

We booked and paid for the 5 bed dorm (more expensive) but were assigned to the 8 bed dorm without explanation. The room was very small but clean. The bathroom stayed kind of gross and was very humid. Close to the bus station and grocery store. 

Good location, otherwise pretty meh


Please don't be fooled by the chic exterior and previous reviews of Granada 6; in this case looks are very deceiving. 

I've never written a bad review in my life- but dear me, I've also never been so disrespected in my life. Having travelled for ten months around Latin America and always staying in hostels, I can safely say that the the staff at Granada 6 have successfully made this the worst hostel I have stayed in across Latin America- and I have stayed in some really nasty ones!

The staff here have no social skills and no understanding of customer service. Because of this, the hostel has a bad vibe and uncomfortable atmosphere. It has a number of ridiculous and arbitrary rules; for instance, you are not allowed to view the rooms before you commit to stay there, and you are not allowed to hang around the property after check out (even to wait two hours for your bus!). When we questioned these rules, we were told they are the rules at all hostels- well, they aren't, because in 10 months this is the first time we were kicked out of a hostel on the minute of check out! The manageress told us she would rather we sat in the bus station than in the garden because we'd already checked out and it was a rule. Bizarre doesn't describe it.

I'm a polite person (I'm British!) and had requested very politely if it was possible to switch rooms after a terrible nights sleep due to snorers- this was made in to a huge problem for some reason - staff seemed to take it as a personal insult and made it very obvious they were not happy with me- I was told if I was going to stay in dorm rooms I shouldn't expect a good nights sleep. Again, I'm no novice to hostels, I know how they work and truly fail to see the problem here.

Night two I spent in the female dorm, where a female staff member was living. I clearly wasn't welcome- the staff turned on lights and talked loudly as I slept (around 11pm). When I asked if it was possible to please turn out the lights I was met with "No, I'm getting ready to go out and I'm putting my makeup on." There was an ensuite bathroom in the dorm; over 10 months travelling I have found most people are reasonable enough to try to have the lights off if someone asks, and just generally potter around quietly wherever possible if someone is sleeping, but at Granada 6- no way. Never mind the fact this girl actually worked there. 

If you want strange and awkward rules, unfriendly staff and to be made to feel very unwelcome, before being practically chucked out hours before you leave Cancun, then this is the hostel for you my friends! 

Oh yeah, and the dog poo by the pool was a real nice touch.
