So lovely. Quiet, beautiful, private. We really enjoyed our stay. Great place to get out into nature. If youre looking for some realxing time in the jungle then this is your spot :) we highly recommend. Onlynthing to be aware of is lots of mosquitos in the summer. Normal though because its a jungle :) 

A must visit spot

Ecolodge is a fun place to spend one or two nights. We had a box with a safe, one night table and a bed. The room is made of a wall and mosquito nets. You sleep with the animals at night. And it's great. The trick is that you have to turn everything off or hide in a towel to change. There's no privacy. Curtains would be to be expected. It wouldn't cut out the outside noise but it would bring some convenience. The shower and the bathroom are common. Two small doors hide your privacy. Fortunately there are only four rooms.:) Having stayed in a villa from the jungle past we were able to compare.

Nature and Rustica

Lovely host, great location for seeing this part of Mexico. We walked to town for meals and groceries. The beach is over the highway so a bike or car helps get to the beach. There is a taxi stand in town as well as collectivos but we had a car rental which got us to the ruins and sights, The dogs are good friends 

Best place to stay in the area

This was our 3rd visit to Renzo's cavelands. We love it here. This time we stayed 30 days in the big cabana. It has a private bathroom, fridge, safe, cook top, water cooler, 3 beds and table and chairs. Very spacious with nice colorful decorations. It was my wife two year old daughter and I. Our daughter loved it, we found a couple playgrounds in the small village also a nice cave cenote with shallow water that we enjoyed a short walk from our cabana. We rented a car for half of our trip but it was very easy and cheap to walk to town and take the collectivo toward Tulum or Playa del Carmen. We also visited Xel ha which was only a couple minutes drive. There is a really nice cenote across the street with a zip line which was 100 pesos to enter but we usually had it to ourselves. The small cave cenote down the road is free to enter.  Renzo is a great host he has good stories from his world travels and was very friendly to us.

Beautiful quiet place in the jungle close to everything.

I stayed in a small cabana at Cavelands for 4 nights in February, and I didn't want to leave! It was incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The cabana was simple but comfortable, and the water pressure in the shared bathroom was great.  Full kitchen facilities are available to use.  Though I was lazy and didn't do any cooking, some of the other guests did.  Renzo was very helpful in making suggestions on things to do around the area.  There's a small cenote on the property, but there's an absolutely gorgeous large one across the road, so be sure to check that out.  The beach Xcacel is walking distance, though it does require crossing Hwy 307 (not nearly as scary as it sounds and definitely worth it for that little slice of paradise!). I look forward to returning to Cavelands; I've been home for 3 weeks now and have thought about that place every day. :-)  If you like nature and don't need luxury, I think you'll love it as much as I did.

Perfect getaway!

We found Cavelands by chance searching cabins on Google, the others were worth 600 dollars, and finally we found a decent-priced cabin that really connects you to nature. Renzo was super nice to us, showing us the different cabins he had. We took the big one with the most beautiful bed I've ever seen (the bed comes from Bali and is decorated like all the cabin decoration ), the hot shower, the super quiet place. Part of the distance between one cabin and the other and all the vegetation make you think you're really comfortable. Renzo recommended very good places to dine, quiet playthings and isolated dining rooms where you go and literally are SOLO in the cenote, as if it were your private hotel definitely! All that Plummen Tulum is a fine place to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the city, and a nice place to enjoy a lot of the car and a nice ride:) Renzo is a great place to go for everyone who wants to enjoy a nice ride in the surrounding area!

Quietness near the tourist noise.

This place is onbelievable, I should write....don't visit it,so it will stay unspoiled and unique.
But if you feel like going back to nature and relax en enjoy the jungle with everything in and around it the  take this chance to stay in the Cavelands. Renzo the owner is a fantastic warm loving person that will make you feel right at home and help you wherever he can.He an make some great food also! Lola and blacky are his two lovely dogs who love a little dogtreat that you can buy at the little store in Chemuyil. We will surely go back there next year.

hidden jungle treasure

An unforgettable experience, sleeping between nature and the bottom have a small cenote 😍 Renzo very kind, willing to help and give travel advice, I prepare a very rich breakfast, near xcacel y xcacelito beach, perfect for disconnecting you from the world and resting... thank you very much Por Todo Renzo!!

A unique experience!

We stayed at Cavelands for two nights while visiting the Tulum area. It was a little hard to find, but when we did, we were surprised of the setting which had an off the beaten tract feeling, yet so close to all the main attractions. Our three person cabana fit our needs perfectly. There really is a cave to explore with lots of bats and a cenote. Lawence is a very interesting host and great guy.

Close to Tulum, but feeling of the Jungle

It was magical to sleep in the campsite listening to the trees of the jungle winds down on top of one another Renzo very kind, felicidades It is a very quiet place, far away from the hustle and bustle of traditional tourism Sleeping in the tent under the trees moved by the wind was magical Renzo was very kind, congratulations!
