Casa Villa Magnolia is an oasis in the midst of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.  It is beautiful and incredibly well maintained.  The whole place is spotless and feels safe.  The overall structure and design of the spaces, indoors and out, is aesthetically interesting. We have just returned from our third trip there, and have stayed in 3 different rooms over the years, including the casita near the gate.  It has a small number of rooms and there is am cozy feeling to the place. There are always other interesting guests to meet over breakfast, which includes freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee or tea, a lovely arranged fruit plate, and a sweet roll.  The staff are lovely, kind, and helpful, and have mostly been there for a long time.  
We prefer the casita as we like to cook some of our own meals, especially given how close the fish market at the marina and the other fish market a block away are. However, the main house has a beautiful and well equipped kitchen, which guests can also use.  The pool is a saving grace after a hot day around town or after some sort of hot adventure- it is cool and sunny in the afternoon, which makes it so refreshing. Along with others, we have enjoyed many afternoons sitting around the pool reading and talking.  The iguana family members provide ample poolside entertainment too.
There are many restaurants close by as well as small grocery stores, so much so that a trip to a large supermarket in Bucerias is really unnecessary and we have avoided that for the most part.  It is less than 10 minutes to walk to the Sunday market at the Marina, or to most places in the centre of town.  There is a medical clinic for tourists nearby, which we found very helpful too.
It is such an enjoyable place to visit.

La Cruz Oasis

The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained.  We couldn't use the spa as it was being worked on.  The pool is hard to get out of as there are no steps, just a ladder.  The breakfast was very good.  The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.  It was within walking distance of many restaurants, which all were very good.  WiFi was only available in the main house, but it was not inconvenient.  Just a short walk from my room to the main house.  The staff was very friendly and was there to please!

Beautiful B&B

Villa Magnolia is very lovely, quiet during the day in a large private garden. There is a bar across the street which was very loud noisy the night we arrived. The staff took over the pool on Sunday night with loud music right below our bedroom window. The B&B seems to be over staffed which might explain why it is over priced for what you get. 

Be careful not to pay for your accommodation in $peso bills. Two days after we left the villa the manager via email insisted we paid in a $2000 peso bill which we know we did not. This note was decommissioned in 1996. She hounded me with 7 follow up emails after we left threatening to track me down. This unfortunate behaviour really dampened our holiday. 

Register your trip with the Canadian Consulate before you go. They were extremely helpful in this situation.

Don't pay peso cash for your accommodation

The villa is very well maintained. Grounds are well kept, pool very clean, rooms gorgeous and comfortable beds. Breakfast was very nice with fruit, yogurt, fresh squeezed orange juice, toast and coffee. Perfect start to every day!! 
Villa is a close walk to the marina, beach and town. Great for families or couples, would definitely come back here again.

Beautiful B & B

Fabiola, Liz and Juan (and the other people who maintain the house) are always attentive and willing to help and answer any questions during the stay, something I would recommend would be to put hooks inside the bathroom to hang wet towels or bathing suits.

An excellent place to rest.

Villa Magnolia is a small hotel, very well cared for, with a beautiful and impeccable garden. The rooms, at least the one that touches us is small, but it has everything needed: kitchen, climate, TV, closet, kitchen with refreshments, drainage and private bathroom. All the windows have mosquito nets. The staff is super friendly. In the morning they offer breakfast of fruit, yogurt, bread, coffee and juice. The facilities are completely clean. One feels comfortable sleeping there. And you sleep well because there is not much noise around the hotel. The bed and pillows, although they are good, are not SUPER comodas. It is something that can be improved. The location, although not next to the beach by car, is also close to the market place of El Marco, a beautiful architecture. It is about 3 or 5 minutes from the marina.

Small, private, friendly staff that make you feel at home. The staff gave us tips on what activities we should do during our stay and they helped us find a tour to Las Islas Marietas--Marieta Islands. Breakfast was served in the mornings. I would really recommend this place we absolutely loved it.

Loved it

I stayed with my pet from September 14th to 19th, since he communicated to me by phone I knew it was El lugar, from the beginning Fabi was his friendly, affectionate, attentive Administrator. All his warm, attentive, cordial staff went one step ahead of any need Fabi, Don Juan and his support staff had an unbeatable treatment. The lovely villa, this is not to say that pulcra and all its facilities are perfectly cared for. I stayed alone with my pet and I felt very cared for, as at home!!!! the treatment for my pet was also with and with great respect from his staff. Without a doubt I would appreciate going to the Ballenas Career Awards in January.

They exceeded all my expectations!!!

I had planned a trip to the Riviera Nayarit in September, and because it was a very demanding date all the places began to be occupied, otherwise we would never have arrived at Villa Magnolia as being in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and not being so known would have automatically ruled it out. If we had known from the beginning how amazing it would have been we would not have been looking anywhere else. It is a spectacular place, very different from what we are used to and offers very high quality at an affordable price! Today I can say that it was the choice of the trip for a long time, to go back at any time. Hopefully we would have done a little more promotion, explaining everything about the surrounding places and everything they have to offer. Staying in the room, a room with a calcium between 4 and 2 cents, but we can't always see each other, because we can't always feel the heat in the room, but we can't always see each other, because we can't see each other.

Beautiful and different! 100% Recommended

If it's about tranquility and relaxation, it's the perfect place, its peaceful and relaxed atmosphere is conducive to enjoying all its amenities, the bedrooms, gardens, pool, jacuzzi, dining room, kitchen, living room, etc., etc., and it also has a tennis court. Faby and his staff (Liz and Don Juan) worked hard to make us feel at home with their excellent and friendly treatment.
