Great location. However the place is run down. We stayed in room with ensuite on the ground floor. There was no air con so it was really hot. You couldn’t open the windows and fan was very noisy and insufficient. Stairs up to the terrace was creaky and didn’t look safe to go up and down. Would not recommend staying here. Accommodation isn’t too expensive in this city so would recommend staying elsewhere 

Not enjoyable stay 

We read good things about this hostel in Lonely Planet, but I must admit this couldn't be more wrong. The rooms were not separated by actual walls, there is an open space to the other rooms right under the "ceiling" (which was a plastic cover), so you can hear what everybody is talking about all the time. Aka we didn't get much sleep - and we are not light sleepers. 

Very unclean and uncomfortable, we rushed out the next morning and never looked back. You can find great, clean places for the same price in the many other hostels in town - do yourself a favor and chose any other place.

Probably the worst place I have ever slept

The man at the reception was really not friendly. I asked him if there was WIFI and he answered No  The next day i discovered that there was WIFI     The hostel is not clean and the rooms are very noisy  Breakfast is included but is very poor  when I asked for a Third and fourth slice of bread it was refused to me!!!!!!!   The only positive thing is that is in the Center of  G and that you dont have to  take stairs with your Luggage what.  can be very  hard in G.

This place could be so much better - it's cheap, has 24 hour reception (the only reason I went there because I arrived in Guanajuato at 5 in the morning after a killer 42 hours on the road), a nice terrace, it's right in the centre of town, has an ok kitchen...but the bathroom could be a lot cleaner, the rooms and communal areas could be cheerier, and the staff could make a bit of an effort to be friendlier and more forthcoming. Breakfast was 2 slices of packet bread (the woman held the packet so I couldn't take any more) with margarine, jam with 1% fruit and transparent coffee, in a sad little space on the ground floor. One of the private rooms opens directly onto the stairs - would be against all European health & safety rules!  The plants on the terrace were nearly all dead, which is a shame, because it's the best part of the hostel.  Also very noisy - the dorm I stayed in looked onto the road which is narrow, full of slow traffic, and at night a few noisy bars blast music onto the street until late - and the windows didn't close! The kitchen seemed ok, though I didn't cook.  All in all, a fairly depressing experience.  I moved to Casa Dante which is the exact opposite in every way - if they'e got room, go there. It'll cost you 60 pesos more but after their breakfast you won't need to eat until the evening!

Very central, cheap but not cheerful

This hostel is perfectly located for visiting museums, parks, churchs, and the University, but beware the street noise.  Despite wearing earplugs, I didn't sleep for the two nights I was there until everyone finally went home at 4am.  The dorm rooms were typical with lockers and bunk beds.  I appreciated the female and male only bathrooms, when the guys noticed the signs...  Breakfast was nothing exciting - just toast and coffee.  The staff were nice, and there's a healthy restaurant on the ground floor, but I would not stay here again.  I value my sleep, and there's no sleep to be found at this hostel unless you are the type of person who can sleep through nuclear war or worse.  Guanajuato is a great city to visit.  Just don't plan on sleeping much, especially if you stay here.
