This BNB?  was established as a dormitory for language students.  The rooms are cold and dark.  Their is little to say about the exterior of the property as far as lounging outside, unless you want to stare at propane tanks.  The walk to the center city is a 38 minute steeply downhill walk and 41-43 minute walk back, steeply up hill.  Don't think about wearing anything other than tennis shoes and expect to stay downtown once you are there as it is just too far to walk more than once.  This facility is located at the far side of Guanajuato, in a residential area surrounded by dogs that bark ALL night.  the rooms are all hard surfaces that echo sound, so after being kept up most of the night by barking dogs, we were awoke again at 6:15 am by the two guys staying in the room next door having loud sex.  The mattresses they provide are as cheap as you can get in Mexico.  I DO NOT RECOMMEND for any one other than a long term language student.  I ended up with  very sore and swollen knee from the long hike back and forth to Guanajuato.  I truly feel that they misrepresent the property and to spend $399 dollars for 3 nights is just ridiculous.  The shared kitchen is not with other customers, it is with the family and is extremely awkward.

Overpriced, noisy, dormitory far from center of Guanajuato, don't expect much sleep!

I really can't say enough good things about my stay with Ofelia! From the moment you check in with her you are treated as family. She was such a warm hostess & made sure we were comfortable our entire stay. Her home is beautiful and the tile work in the bathrooms is to die for. I hope to go back and stay with Ofelia again.

I highly recommend staying here at Ophelia's house. She is so nice & will take care of you well. Her daughters are helpful as well. She is a great cook & everything I had was delicious. Lots of pretty flowers outside.

Ofelia is the best

I've enjoyed staying at Hospedaje Casa los Manzanos every June since 2010. Each summer I bring a group of educators from Durham, NC for a week-long immersion experience in Guanajuato. I've had a good experience with Casa los Manzanos and choose to keep coming back. 

Ofelia and her family are wonderful hosts. Ofelia really goes the extra mile to make everyone feel at home even when they don't speak Spanish. She is passionate about and enjoys sharing her culture through cooking and telling stories.  

The showers are always hot, the rooms are spacious and clean, the beds are comfortable, the wireless Internet is dependable and the location is great.

More than a bed; an experience.

Our group stayed with Ofelia for a week while visited Guanajuato and surrounding cities. She went above and beyond what you would expect from a typical manager of a bed and breakfast. 

Our rooms were very clean and private. Each room has it's own keyed entrance and bathroom as well as fresh bottled water. There was also internet access, bedding, towels, and snacks upon our arrival. 

Ofelia and her family are so welcoming. Every day they would invite us into their kitchen (which was separate from our rooms) for breakfast and occasionally other meals. She was also very accommodating to our interests; showing us how to make traditional meals, touring around the city with us, and speaking slowly for those of us who were new to the Spanish language. 

I highly recommend Hospedaje Casa los Manzanos. I am already looking forward to getting back their next summer.
